Good idea... I guess I have too many to post in a thread... No stories... just plain renders... so no need. I have them on my hard drives anyway... but yes.. good to have a PLAN B spot. :) I DO remember your original postings. I've been a bit lax this year with artwork... Lots going on and I guess I needed a little break from Daz (although that's not stopped me from BUYING! lol) Keep'em posting... (crosses fingers for gateway errors) ;) Stay well. hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I always aim to stay out of trouble myself...
Although you are an excellent marksman, you once shot your own horse. I think your aim may be off.
I had blotted that from me memory forgotten that.
Help!
Richard: Jack, can you hear me? I need your help! Can you come and pick me up?...

Hmmm
He didn't call for Lola? Did I miss something?
She's probably still at work, and maybe he doesn't want her to know how about this whole posse thing, anyway. What was he thinking?
Jack is Richard's go to guy - there to help get into or out of trouble.
Hence my Hmmmmm
Ah, right
What Did You Get Into Now?
Jack: So, what happened?
Richard: I walked to Dodge City to see Miss Kitty, my fourth cousin twice removed. I wanted to ask her advice about a possible consultancy for Lola, in case Lola's tech job at the ranch is replaced with AI. It is a concern these days, you know. Miss Kitty has new babies. They are all boys and absolutely the cutest things in the world. Every one looks exactly like me!
Jack: So, are you the father?
Richard: No! But that is how all the trouble started.
Jack: Just cut to the chase, Richard. What do you need?
Richard: OK, the chase. Well, everyone made the same assumption as you, and a big posse - a huge posse - chased me down.
Jack (getting frustrated): I don't need the play by play. What is the problem NOW?
Middle Kitten: Mama, I can't reach the milk spigot.

Tumbleweed Tumble
Richard: OK, OK, but I have to tell you. I escaped and disguised myself cleverly as a cowboy. I even wore my Roy Rogers vest and and cowboy hat. I rode my horse back to town and infiltrated the posse. I'm an excellent infiltrator, you know. We were riding out. My horse lagged behind, because he was tired from the ride into town. Then he tripped over a tumbleweed and threw me off. I landed on my feet, of course. I'm not injured, just dusty.

Jack: So I still haven't heard what the problem is!
Bound for the Glue Factory?
Richard: So the problem is that my horse broke his leg and his neck when he fell. I could walk home, but I can't abandon my horse! Miss Kitty let me use her phone to call you. We need to take my horse to the glue factory right away, so they can glue him back together!!

Jack: Oh, Richard. That is not what they do to horses at the glue factory. And don't ask. You don't want to know!
Richard: Oh no! What can I do?
Jack: I'll come pick you up. We'll throw the horse in the back. I'll take him home and fix him up. I still have a little glue left over from the hat fiasco, even though you spilled most of it.
Richard: Thanks, Jack! You are an excellent pal in a pinch.
Did anyone notice the little broken horse outside the window when Richard was on the phone to Jack?
To Be Continued...
I've spent Most of the last week taking single mesh objects and breaking them into individual components so I could tell this story. I split the Santa's Toy Workshop rocking horse into body, "legs", head and reins. I added dForce to the reins so they could lie plausibly on the ground. I split the Mysterious Office phone into base and handset and replaced the cord with one that had bones (albeit inconveniently placed bones as a G9 accessory) so I could pose the cord. Then I had to turn Cat Zeus (with Richard morphs) into kittens, the best I could. Oh, yes, I also had to give the little horse some modified eye poses.
Cute kittens (about whom I know absolutely nothing!) but poor horse. I am sure Jack's modelling skills will save the day.
The irony of taking a horse to a glue factory to be made better ... ;)
I love it when people comment on these little things! Thanks!
Get Outta Dodge
He'll be driving two white horses when he comes... Jack arrives to take Richard and his broken horse back home.
Richard: I thought you'd bring the Tesla.
Jack: I didn't want to get it dirty.
Richard: Uh Oh, Do you see that big cloud of dust? Do you hear the thundering hooves? I think the posse is on the way back. Posse Man 1 is allergic to cats. When he started sneezing, I was afraid he was on to me, but he seemed not to notice. Maybe he caught on. I think the jig is up. Close that tailgate. We gotta get the heck outta Dodge!
Meanwhile in the Posse...
Floyd: Hey, where's the little shrimp?
Posse Man 1: The little dude probably can't keep up on that little horse. He's probably back there in the cloud of dust.
Jeb: Maybe he ran home to mommy. (laughter)
Boss: We'd better go back and see if he's OK. Turn around fellas. (They head back to town.)
...
Posse Man 1: Hey, that man is kidnapping our little dude... and his horse! Get him, guys! Let's Go!!
Boss: Hold on fellas! That's probably his father who came to haul him back home. His mother has probably been worried sick. See how fast they are hurrying to get home? Maybe he'll come back when he's all grown up.
Ah, saved by the misunderstanding (though honestly, I could have jumped in the cab fasterthan Jack could have carried me - and without the wear to my claws).
I think it is a good thing you didn't try that. If the posse had seen that elegant cat leap, they may have been very suspicious. For some reason, Jack seems to always think he has to carry you out of trouble. He carried you out of the jailhouse, too, when you were both locked up for hosta hijinks. Maybe he feels that it solidifies his role as hero.
I love these stories/renders so much!!! You do a great job, you are an excellent storyteller ;-) And your "main characters" are such good sports, my hat is off to them as well!
I must confess, though, that when I first glanced at the name of this thread, I thought it said... something else. Needless to say, I was quite relieved to see that Jack and Richard are, in fact, alive and well! XD
You may have a point there.
I'm glad you are entertained! Richard is indeed a good sport, commenting on what i post and often influencing the story development with his comments. I can't imagine what you thought the title of the thread was. It's probably better that I don't know. In spite of all their outlandish adventures, Jack and Richard remain alive and well here.
Maybe she missed the "on" in the middle?
Oh, that would be quite traumatic.
That's exactly what happened XD
Hi, Honey, I'm Home
Jack dropped Richard off at home. Richard went inside and called out to Lola:
Richard: Hi, honey, I'm home.
Lola: I'm in the laundry room, Richard. ... Richard! You're a filthy mess! Why did you wear your pajamas outside?
Richard: It was a bad idea. I'm sorry.
Lola: Was jack involved?
Richard: A little bit.
Lola: Were you digging up hostas again?
Richard: No.
Lola: Did you get arrested again?
Richard: No.
Lola: Do you want to give me all the details?
Richard: Not really. I went to Dodge City to see Miss Kitty, my fourth cousin twice removed. It's dusty there. Jack gave me a ride home. That's the gist of it. I'm tired. I need a nap now.
Lola: Well, take off those filthy clothes and I'll add them to this load. I bought you some cute new pajamas today. They have little kitten faces on them. They all look just like you!
Richard: Thanks, I think I'll save them for a special occasion. I'm kind of tired of clothes right now. (Richard thinks to himself: If I have to wear those kitten pajamas, I'm sure I'll have nightmares about today.)
The End Well it was the end, until I decided to explore Jack's attempt to fix Richard's horse.
@barbult I am glad I missed the last 20 posts and got to read them in a mass read! Super fun. Now when is Miss Kitty going to send the kits over to Lola's for kitty sitting by Richard and Jack? Will they introduce them to YouTube kitten tunes to lull them to sleep? Or show them Husky videos of stupid things they do or say? Or on hot days, the bird bath water fountains? And then there are the squirrels and birds and the cats try to climb into the TV to get to them. And run constantly to refill the food and water bowls? And get them off of the drapes.
I have come to an agreement with Simon that my side of the bed and my pillows are on a time-share. He has them during the day, I get them during the night. Charlie hasn't agreed quite yet.
I forgot to say how impressed I am with the work you put in for that scene of the dismemberment of the rocking horse, after what you did for the cat pajamas. DAZ should award you gift card credits or something.
