Hmmm, I am on tenterhooks (as well as a sceptical horse).

    What?

A game of telephone is underway. How will it end...

Posse Man 1 to Floyd: There's a little dude outside who wants to join us. Boss says we have to be sure he isn't an Infidel. Pass the word.
Floyd to Tennessee: There's a shrimp out front who wants in. Boss says we have to be sure he's affable before we let him in the posse. Pass the word.
Tennessee to Jeb: We're having shrimp for lunch. Boss says we have to make sure the guy out front isn't allergic.
Jeb: I'll go out and check...

Well, my intentions bgan as honourable - Lola has been a bit worried about the impact of AI on her job so I suggested she explore the possibility of moving to a consultancy - that was why I was at Miss Kitty's (I thought maybe a relative would be a good place to start making enquiries).

Oh, so you and Miss Kitty are related, huh. She must carry the Ginger gene. I hear it is passed down from the mother. That is why her litter looks suspiciously like you. Or at least that is the excuse you can use. I'm certainly willing to believe the honorable intent story --- and honorable follow through, too.

    Are You Algerian?

Jeb grabs his cane and toddles out to check on the guy out front. Even though Jeb's cataracts are getting worse, he can still see light and dark and general shapes. He spots the little guy near the steps.

Jeb: Hey, there. The Boss needs to know if you are Algerian.
    Richard: No, I'm Ginger.
Jeb: OK, then, I'll tell him there is nothing to worry about.

Richard thinks to himself, "Well, I guess that went well." The Horse remains as skeptical as ever.

Good job he didn't ask if I was an allergen.

Well, I've left poor Richard in limbo while I got swallowed up by Marvelous Designer again. I decided I needed to make him "new" pajamas the "right way", so they fit and will pose with him. Before, I just tried to kludge something together for a quick scene, I'm not sure why I go down these rabbit holes. When, after this story, will I ever need cat pajamas again?

any time you need to illustrate or allude to the phrase "the cat's pyjamas" - surely a frequent occurence in scenes set in certain places or eras.

Perhaps after wearing this snazzy outfit, you won't want to go around with just your fur coat anymore. Or maybe you find these clothes too constraining.  My husband thinks you won't be able to get it off when nature calls. He was quite concerned for you. laugh

Hmm, still good against the cold - a difficult balancing act, but cats are excellent at balancing.

Maybe a little flap door in the pertinent area below the tail?

These type of onsie outfits for adult/teen females always make me wonder what they do in public toilets where there are gaps on both sides of the door and no real privacy.

These are so good. How many hours would say you spend putting one of these larger scenes together?

Posse Man 1: Hey, Boss, there's a dude outside who wants to join the posse. He has a horse and says he's good with a gun, but left it home. I seen the horse and it seems not skittish at all. The guy is terrible short and the horse is puny, too - maybe a pony. You know I ain't got good eyesight, but I could swear he was wearing jammies.
    Boss: Did he look young?
Posse Man 1: His hat was tipped down. Couldn't see his face good.
Boss: Probably a runaway kid hiding a bad case of acne. All our guys are getting on in years. Half can't see and the other half can't hear. Some young blood could be good. We might give him a chance, but we have to be sure of his motives. Tell the guys to be on the alert. We can't accept an infiltrator who'll find out our secrets.

@Greybro I'm so glad you like the images. According to the times on intermediate scenes versions that I saved along the way, I spent 8 hours on this particular scene. I'd say half of that was setting up the scene, and the other half was tweaking things after the basic scene was setup. Lighting was a challenge and getting it to fit in my GPU was a challenge. I kept deleting unseen parts of the Inn props and removing other props not important to the story. The woman coming down the stairs is a LowPi. The three characters at the bar a set to base resolution and parts under clothes are hidden. I often try many changes and camera angles before settling on a final image to post. I'm retired. I have the time to play.

@memcneil70 Oh, Mary, you made me think! This is supposed to be a baby onesie. There must be snaps on the entire length of the inner legs. We just can't see them. Problem solved! What a relief. I hope Richard can deal with snaps. Is he an excellent snapist??

barbult, I'm loving your latest creations - the posse story is great! And that cat onesie is amazing too.

Thanks @MelanieL. I was finding this story a little long on words and short on action. I do like the game of telephone, though. I'm glad people are still enjoying it. I have great fun making these images and telling the story of Richard's adventures. Usually Jack is involved. He may still appear later - or not.

    You're in!

Posse Man 1 (Boss's Right Hand Man): OK, little guy, the Boss says you can ride with us this afternoon. If you can keep up, you're in.
Richard: Great, but I don't have a gun with me.
Posse Man 1: You don't really need one. We never load these guns. We just wave them around to intimidate people, You can just wave around that rope in your back pocket. We never even try to catch people. We just chase them out of town and let them think they escaped. The guns scare most of them into not coming back. Don't tell anyone. It's our posse secret.
Richard: Oh... (Thinking back to his great escape across the Dead Man's Arroyo.)
Posse Man 1: Achoo! Gosh, what has got me sneezing. The only thing I'm allergic to is cats.
Richard: (Uh oh, I might be an allergen.)

As the afternoon sun begins to sink low in the sky, the posse heads out in a cloud of western dust. Even Richard's little horse has caught the excitement and looks less skeptical now. Let's Go! Let's Go!

And now, who will be pursured by the posse? Is it possible it will be someone we know? At least Posse Man 1 is out in the fresh air, which should help with his ... new allergy.

Welcome aboard, Llola Lane! As Richard said. the posse story is new (and still underway). It all started because I rendered some LowPi cowboys on horses, unrelated to Richard stories, and then they needed someone to chase. So... and here we are.  I still have other old stories to gather up and add here, but as I create new ones, this is now the consolidated place for them to live. Most old stories were responses to Daz+ contests or events of some sort. If I drop Daz+ someday, even I wouldn't be able to access them in that exclusive forum anymore. Other non-Daz+ people can't see them there, either. This is an equal opportunity thread, unless Daz kills the whole forum or it dies of too many gateway errors.
