Luna3D has done an amazing job at re-texturing Sveva's rather 'meh' Off shoulder midriff tee shirt and made it into a very nice, versatile and attractive bit of clothing: Off Shoulder Midriff Tee textures. Shame about the promo elbows, though.

Agreed, it looks lovely now. They've generally been doing some really good texturing work lately I feel. I also like their shader sets a lot. -  The new Feng curly hairstyle (https://www.daz3d.com/fn-short-curls-for-genesis-9) looks rather nice, too. And I like the rose jewelry (https://www.daz3d.com/vrv-ninna-jewelry-for-genesis-9-81-and-8) and the room set (https://www.daz3d.com/sota-les-voltes-house),  not because I have much use for the overall style, but it seems really well made, and there's lots of little scenes in there that can be adapted to fit many settings I think.

I'm on the fence about the new quick scene by Dreamlight (https://www.daz3d.com/quick-rocky-vignette-2). I've bought several of these before, and while you have to stick quite closely to the PA's original idea to make it work nicely (I think that's often the case with this PA), I do think they create beautiful scenes. But they're kinda heavy, rendering-wise, because usually include much fog etc. Also, with the current one, I wonder whether one can get a figure's face lit properly in this light set-up. So ...

Overall, today's got a lot of nice and diverse stuff I feel.

Did you mean https://www.daz3d.com/chb-gabriel-and-sweatsuit-bundle-for-genesis-9 ? because hell, yeah! I got it and I don't even USE G9. I'm hoping it will convert nicely to G8 but even if it doesn't, for $3.99 I'm not out much. It's such a nice sloppy style for relaxing and I especially like the top.

Well I bit the bullet, killed the gift card and more.

    https://www.daz3d.com/ultimate-natural-bend-morphs-for-genesis-9-feminine-20

https://www.daz3d.com/morph-master - seeing the PA work with customers to fix a problem convinced me to buy it when I could.

So full price would have been $204.93, with tokens, discounts, my remaining birthday gift card I just had to spend $32.78 for some items I have wanted for awhile. Or fell for this week!

Thank you to all the PAs for their talent and preserverance and DAZ and everyone who brought them to my attention on the forums.

Today's script or plug-in for dForce looks dead useful, I might get it on the spot: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-archmage. I always struggle so much with simulations, especially with choosing the right settings for the different materials, and with setting up wind forces. From the video, there should be a lot of help included in this neat thingy.

thanks for the heads up, my eyes skipped right over this on the sale page. It's gone straight into my cart.

Edit: as did 31 pose and prop sets for $1.19 each! 31!! OMG, I'll be installing for the rest of the night if anyone's looking for me ;)

I was absolutely APPALLED to discover I can get buyer's fatigue...me! the shopaholic from hell! After picking out and adding those 31 products to my cart my brain was all "please, stop, I can't do this anymore." My excuse is I was running on fumes and dinner was still an hour or so away. I downloaded them whilst eating that dinner later on but the installation can wait till after a hearty breakfast tomorrow.

How did you hold yourself to only 31 poses? laugh If you ever wanted pose sets, this is the time, that's for sure.

I have a couple of pose sets in my wishlist, but I must admit they are only there to remind me to do something a bit along those lines eventually - but the fact I'm trying to keep reminding myself of them means that they aren't a high priority. I think one of the sets has been there since 2020 and I'm beginning to think there's a fairly high chance I'll say 'forget it'.

Ha! Wait til you discover that there's such thing as "new stuff fatigue" when you start thinking, OMG there's so much stuff to test ... idk ... not feeling it today ... maybe tomorrow ...

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 5,295

Take your new stuff and multiply it by how many computers they need to be installed on and then the metadata tweeked to fit your needs! I am over 24,000 product files in DIM now and each computer has a different number installed. And on some I haven't even got to installing my non-DAZ store purchases and freebies on my newer computers.

Such a lowering thought!! And this is the first time I've ever bought this much stuff in one day and I'm already asking myself "WHY???!!!"

  • Looks like I held myself to 50 pose sets.

I'm a close second then, 50 items total including the dForce ArchMage, rest from the poses sale. My, that was fun, like in the olden days ... yes  Only pity was that after hours of happy and guilt-free shopping, all the work I'd postponed still had to be done. Kept me up well into the night. But I felt it was worth it for once. Such great sets really!

It was fun! laugh Then the second sale showed up and I grabbed a couple of bundles from that, too.

  • How is dForce ArchMage?

Shout out to some of M3D / Matari 3D's poses / promos recently. No idea if they're custom or not, but really good promo pics that show you what you're looking at quick. Some customizable bits on the outfits too. Really like their recent style and effort they're putting in.

I know it's not today's or even yesterday's. But I like MB's dForce Gentle Updo. And the reason is the promos. I think they're superb. V9 seems to be barely awake and the fact she's awake just this second is not a prediction for the next 30 seconds. The image I think is particularly good is this one:

You can really imagine her nodding off. Briliant posing & fantastic soft-sleepy-blank expression where staying awake is too much effort.

    Regards,

    Richard

Hmm, that render actually looks like some of the shoppers I see at Target in P.J.s any day of the week, shuffling in at any hour, male or female, looking for something. Maybe munchies.

  • richardandtracyrichardandtracy Posts: 7,113

    yes

We used to see quite a few mid-afternoon pyjama-clad shoppers at our local ASDA (was once owned by Walmart, not sure now). However 'sleepy' was not the look. 'Frazzled' was the almost universal look, mostly as a result of the gaggle of kids milling about their knees who occasionally seemed loosely associated with them and almost equally loosely associated with virtually any adult in store (including us, much to our surprise). However, these days such parents have deliveries to their doors because the kids can then find distraction opening the door, receiving the groceries and fighting with other kids in the house (but not necessarily related to anyone present) over the prize treats without the pyjama-clad adult ever needing to get up.

It's possible I'm exaggarating just a tiny bit. The pyjamaclad adult may come downstairs to text 'Her nextdoor' while the kids do their bit with the groceries.

    Regards,

    Richard

I first saw the PJ look in San Luis Obispo CA when I visited my son for Sunday brunch when he was in college at Cal Poly and girls showed up that way at a nice restuarant. At 10 - 12 in the morning I was a bit shocked but my son said they probably had been partying until 3am. The worn and smeared makeup told the tale when I looked. I can't imagine going into public like that, unless there was a fire or disaster.

it's probably appealing for post adult activity renders too which many do

When elder child was little, I pretty much lived in pajama pants. All my pairs had some fun print on them, and kiddo took such delight in picking out which ones I should wear. So I figure... hey, they're pants, and people say dress for your boss... if sheep and stars was going to make the day roll better, I'm for it. There are better hills to die on.

Nicest restaurant we hit up was Culver's, though, so...

Huh, I really like the new Neftis hair: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-colette-cute-horns-hairstyle-for-genesis-9. But I wonder whether it would be possible to get rid of or hide those horns. Don't know much about dForce hair, but I suppose I can't edit it with the Geometry Editor. Does anyone know what to do about it? Could I kinda squash them in a dForce sim or something like that?

I dont know how she has them set up, but if they have their own surface, you could change the line start and end width to 0 and that will shut them off or If they are a seperate piece, you can just delete them from the scene.

Thank you! Separate pieces would of course be the easiest solution, but the hair doesn't really look like this. I'll definitely try the surface trick if it's possible. -  I'll get it anyway for sure, it's so pretty; worst case I'll hide the horns by a hat or something.
