But my, you're FAST, I was just writing about looking forward to your new iteration of centaur renders with this one ...

I've got a decent amount of practice/experience making clones, but in this case I had a headstart because it was basically a given that Centaur 9 was going to be based on Horse 3 - in the same way that Centaur 7 and 8 were based on Horse 2. Based on that (rather elementary) guess, I'd made a Horse 2 shape for Horse 3, right back when the horse was still in beta.

There were a few details I still needed (like exactly how the centaur section joined), but this - along with some G8 to G9 clones - served as pre-prepared building blocks for making a new clone to get from Centaur 8 to Centaur 9. These are items I'd already modified for the Genesis 8 centaurs, so didn't need much work, just a little reshaping and to be refitted to Centaur 9.

Argh. The last two days were expensive! I love/hate these end-of-the-month blowout sales. frown

Anywho... what a cutie this is from the AntFarm today! (Mech Spiderlaugh

Those eyes! Just don't look at those sharp sword/needle-type contraptions it's got up front. Yikes!

So... What's "iconic" about Iconic Sci-fi Hallway? Is it based on a movie or television series or something? It looks decent, but if I needed a sci-fi hallway, I'd hesitate to buy this one because of the name.

...not into G9 "human" characters but Pyrka caught my eye as finally a female character who is truly petite and doesn't' have "super heroine" breasts.

Seems a bit of a stretch to accuse Pyrika of being human to me. Humanoid is the description I'd be more comfortable using. I do agree that it's nice to see an absence of a 'super heroine' chest. Did you see 'Nami' a while back? She was G9, petite, and human too. Regards, Richard

    It has windows!!

If you are Daz+ or Premier you have been gifted with numerous hallways and the like, but all without windows.

...when I mention "human" I refer to any character who could easily pass for one with only a few morphs and different skin.  A few alien and fantasy characters also have a "human" morph included.  The only G9 characters I have been collecting are the creature and monster ones like those by RawArt and Oso3D as they work as standalone characters (I also have the required G9 basic content to support them).

The lack of full compatibility with the older generations (through plugins like GenXGenX2 and XTransfer) makes G9 less versatile as a base for the custom character design I do.

What about Mely3D's Modular Sci-fi Interior Kit?

Yeah-I would describe Pyrika as "humanoid"."  A lot of the alien-isc figures fall into that range; something from sci-fi movie where a lady gives birth to an huemon-alien hybrid (human being pronounced as a Ferengi would).

RawArt and Oso3D make some humanoid figures, but a lot of them are anthromorphic animal creations, with some being monsters.  They've successfully cornered the market here at the Daz store with those styles, and it's not a bad thing at all.

I realise that it is just a product name, but I would not describe a single cup covering one breast as heavy armour.

I actually laughed out loud when I read the title for this skimpwear armour. The Lite Armour version probably wouldn't pass the mature content filter.

OK, well NOW that makes more sense. SMH But on a more serious note... A 'regular' suit of armour with a decorative covering of macaroni art, just might actually be kinda cool - HA HA!

Something to keep the warriors busy sitting at the campfire at night, you mean? 'Hey guys, look what Zlorf the Ugly has done, he went and BRAIDED the macaroni for his breast plate' - kinda vibe? laugh

I do sorta like https://www.daz3d.com/ultrahd-iray-hdri-with-dof--pines-rock It's an environment rarely seen in HDRI's. But, am I wrong to say I'm not convinced the most interesting spot within sight was chosen for the HDRI? I rather feel that adjacent to the edge of the trees back up on the hill of the first promo image may have been more interesting. One way would be trees, then looking the otherway you'd be able to see out over the valley, in effect getting 2 possible environments from one HDRI.

    Regards,

    Richard

Okay, one good, one bad. Bad first (https://www.daz3d.com/z-feminine-bending-pose-mega-set-for-genesis-9-and-8-female): I really, really, REALLY HATE it that Zeddicus called the current ThingyForADay 'Feminine Bending Poses'. And that DAZ let them. Dude, what?! I've been 'feminine' all my bleeding (huh, pun here) life, and never ONCE have I bend in ANY of these back-breaking ways! It's perfectly fine if you want to give folks sexy poses, but just CALL them that then! This is NOT the natural 'female' way to move! Arrrgh. Sorry, but it freaks me out, this kind of sh... is everywhere. And  yes, I've raised tickets about things like this (the 'school' tag on items with breast revealing morphs f.i.). It doesn't change a thing.

Now good: I really like the new camera set by KindredArts! (https://www.daz3d.com/iray-cinematic-cameras). Of course, their items are always cool, but I especially like this one because I have such a hard time getting depth of field right, as well as choosing the correct lens width (is that it?) for how close I am to my main subjects. So yay for that!

All the pluses. This store is starting to give the other store a run for their money. And I don't mean Rendo.

I opened the pose set and then immeidately closed it. I am not into porn. Barely escaped being forced into it in my teens.

Right now the cameras and the new FlipMode https://www.daz3d.com/easy-environments-exoplanet-ix are in my cart. I would have the PTF makeup, but a birthday gift card will run out faster than I want if I spend it too fast.

    +1 TO INFINITITY

I'm so sick of stuff like this. "Feminine" and "pinup" are not the same thing. "Look I Have A Butt Poses" would've been more accurate. I'm a fan of that artist's stuff in general, but ones like this I can't even justify to harvest a partial from.

  • Matt_CastleMatt_Castle Posts: 3,004

I'm slightly more enthusiastic about the poses than I am the other choices of D+faD items, because at least it actually represents a bit of variety in them.

Having one of the recent ones is key to unlocking many of the offers in the sale, and having a spread of genres and content types to pick from slightly improves the chance of there being an active one you actually like.

I don't have a heap of uses for pin-up poses, other than to satirise them... but it's a sight more useful than a texture set for a hair that I may well not have even liked the day before. (Really, those were a "put out two items today" thing, I feel).

There's a strong disincentive from buying other items until you have an active D+faD item, so how Daz sequences and groups those items is going to be quite key to people's willingness to engage with the other sales on the day.

I'm going to buy that product by KindredArts. I usually like the products by this vendor very much and this one is no exception. As for the pose set, considering that I already have so many pose products on the one hand and that I am also genuinely interested in learning to pose from scratch at least somewhat decently, the truth is that had I not seen your post, it's very likely that I wouldn't even have stopped at that product. But I've seen your post and, upon a brief examination of the subject, well, the promo images speak for themselves. You're absolutely right.

It's a throwback to Zeddicuss' days at ’Rosity, where they specialised in vulgar poses. I wasn't happy when Z. showed up here, but I've seen that they can do otherwise. Still, I don't have much of them. I bought the ‘feminine’ poses as a buy-in, but I don't have to use them. The best thing, of course, would be not to buy such a thing.

I came here to say that. I've needed a quick way to brighten G9's eyes, and I'm glad to have it.
