Ther is a base 40%, you can build up an extra 40%. If you bought the correct bundles before hand you already have the extra 40%, though to maintain it you still need to buy an item today or if your just starting out buty someting today to get an extra 10% tomorrow, on top of the 40% already given.

For what it's worth there is a free item in the sale today so you could get that 10% tomorrow for nothing, or maintain your 40% for nothing.

Thank you for the information. Not that I don't trust you, but can some one official please confirm that this is the case?

Also can someone tell me if what I am seeing (attached) is correct? The "Log in.." when I am already logged in is confusing. Am I at 4? Am I at a different level and the system isn't seeing me as logged in?

As of right now, it works for me. I have not spent my hard saved pennies yet. I got the free item today. For some reason it triggered the Rev-up meter. Hope it stays in case something nice shows up tommorow.

BTW it always says to login, not sure if that was just a tip or meant to be truly instructional.

Personally, if it takes more than a few minutes to take advantage of a sale (like Rev or punches or doing backward cartwheels on alternating Thursdays), I just ignore it. Wait for a low price on stuff you like, then buy them.

Keep a big wishlist, sort it low to high whenever some confusing sale is going on. ;)

I've been waiting for a long time for a sale on i13 stuff that includes the recent loft she made, that sale has so far not materialised. I just got it and a bunch of other stuff by her with 64% off, about three of her newer iteams for less than one woudl have cost. Now I did this with a purchase from todays offerings which colud have been the free item. No hoops, no thinking required just a willingness to spend about $12 for three great sets, I have to remind myself thats . Why wait for the sale you want when actually it's happening now?

  • Since I have no 'revs' at all, will I wind up with negative 'revs' in upcoming days? Will I start seeing items for 40% more? hahaha! I kid. This is a silly sale, and I don't have any extra money to buy anything anyways. Good luck to those of you who are! :D Hope it's worth it.

that was a good laugh. Having a humor is good.

if you don't buy stuff, eventualyl you lose the ability to get anything on sale! Talk about mean. Obviously not, but would be a literal riot!

And I just confirmed I am getting an additional 10% off qualifying items as well. So for now at least, that free item is working. Can not verify it is intended or will stay forever.

It seems that way, but with the crazy hidden math, I gave up trying to figure out what is actually happening.

This sale will only work if the store content is something you need. Right now the store has been selling a ton of content for G3 female... Unfortunately I just don't need most of it so I doubt my engines are going to get all that revved up.

  • that new free item the decrotive easel set just gave me a rev up first time I've seen a freebie giving a bonus in a sales oh and at those that were complaining about skimp wear or uniforms that were sexy and were coming up with concepts of outfits not made offered at the the time but you used it as an example just added to the new releases sexy firegirl suit (firte hazard for genesis 2) that put a big smirking smile on my face seeing that might make a good addition to some themed pinups quite a lot of the female pas do like to create pinup/cheesecake pinup stuff

  • Hey, the revup format works fine for me, I am curious though if anybody has ever fought a fire in heavy pants and a bra... devil

Depends on where the fire started. But at least it's something we haven't seen recently! I expect to see about 100 renders of it on dA before the weekend.

  • seen fair few photos of that being done often the heat is so intense they gotta rip the rest of their clothing off to put out the fire

  • Ahh man I so needed a good laugh. Guess I should get back to work. It's been a funny morning

A point - if there are a max of 4 revups that can be applied, and someone already has 4, the current verbiage implies that buying a fifth item will NOT earn a rev point that can be "banked" so that you would have 4 Revs on both the following day and the third day, should you opt not to buy anything on Day 2.  In other words, what it seems to say is that no matter how many Rev-Up items you buy on Day 1, if you don't buy a qualifiying item on Day 2, you will always still have a maximum of 3 revs on Day 3.  Is that correct or is this text just really badly worded?

  • it's 3:40am here so I'm gonna be fantasizing about the new releases to come think all the sexy themed characters for carears have been covered now sexy nurse/gangster/police/fire/teacher/maid can't think what others could be done but looking forward to seeing what the creators can come up with though still no fishing rod seen though that'd be a good prop for some cheesecake pinup oh and just throwing out there if any of the creators out there watch any of the various gaming/comic convention videos of cosplayers might get some ideas there

two products be great to see in the rev up promotion would be Michael 7 and Shapeshift 3 for Genesis 3 but doubt they will be included at least not Shapeshift think still being worked on and however long it takes for Daz testing and M7 will more likely have his own big promo sale

but again just to annoy some of you and cause I like a lot of it anyway I want to see more fantasy and pinup related addons

Good question. Ugh. This is making my head hurt....  And I still have a cart of items waiting for an answer to my previous questions.

btw what is a "still featured" item.

Items that earn Revs are New Featured Items (new releases for that day) and Still Featured Items (new releases from the preceding two days). So, new releases are eligible to earn Revs for three total days once released.

So, Richard...this mean that those iClone Bundles "WILL" be there for three more days, giving me the ability to get an additional % discount, based on purchases today, tomorrow and the following?  (i.e. they WILL still be there on 9/4/2015 EST between 8am and 5pm, lol)  Is that right?!

  • Okay, no answers seem forthcoming and the math just isn't adding up. Emptying my cart and waiting to see what happens...

Text of the sale says: 40% OFF New Featured - Additional 10% off for every Rev-up you have -

That means that each item should be 80% off.

Hongyu's Bikini 2 for Victoria 7 is list price $14.95.

80% off should make it $2.99.

Instead it is coming up as $5.39, which is a pretty significant difference.

The only way the math works is if it is 40% off the list price, then 40% off of that. But "40% discount applied in addition to the base 40% discount" implies that it should be working differently.

  • "REV-UP discount can be applied to New Featured, Still Featured, Featured Artist Catalogs and Even More Items listed on this promo page."

It doesn't count towards new items in the Featured Artist Catalog that were not part of this promotion.  I didn't suspect it would be, but you need to add that to the disclaimer.

They never add the promos together that way, its always % off the discounted price. Which will not be as extreme as adding the discount percentages together first. 5.39 is a lot cheaper than the 8 bucks I can get it for.

Because I only can save 10%, I only can save an additonal dollar basically. So that $5.39 you are seeing is correct.

I know. But why they do and what the text says is two different things. Either the math needs to be fixed or the text needs to be corrected.

Well, Reallusion Iclone Pro (not a bundle) does get a discount (which is in the store, but not featured), but the discount is not increasing as I add rev-up items to my cart...

That being said, 3dExchange pro (not a bundle) does NOT get a discount.

So, I think there are problems with the system....unless I am understanding this wrong.

I thought you had to buy the rev-up for it to trigger a discount in the cart.

Wait, wait! Let me re-read it again! (i know I did see the discount after i got the freebie, can recall about beforehand)

I think I have finally figured this out. You start out with 0 revups today and no extra discount. If you buy one of the new releases today, apparently even the free new release, you get one revup and a 10% extra discount on Wednesday. If you buy another new release or an item still eligible on Wednesday, you get 2 revups and 20% extra discount on Thursday. If you buy nothing on Wednesday, you go back to no revups and 0% extra discount.

If you own the Scott and Karen Pro Bundles, you start out today with 4 revups and 40% extra discount. To stay at 40% extra discount, you have to buy something today (apparently even buying the free item will count).

It is different than the punch sales that DAZ has used in the past. Usually on those sales you had to buy 5 items (as I recall) to get each level of extra discount.  With this sale you can buy just one item and get and extra discount. The difference is the discount you earned with 5 items in the punch sales lasted the rest of the week or whatever the period of the sale was. With this sale they only last one day, unless you buy an item the next day also. If you only buy 2-3 items a week you can get more extra discounts with this sale than with the punch sales where you never bought enough to get to the extra discount level.

If the items stay eligible for a revup for 3 days, it seems like you can plan out purchases and probably don't have to buy as much to get extra discounts. I'm at 40% discount already because I bounght the Scott and Karen Pro Bundles. I'll buy something today to stay at 40%, but save an item or two I could buy tomorrow if I don't like anything released tomorrow.

Thats not what this banner says...it says you just need additional rev-up items in your cart to trigger discounts for featured artist catalogs:

Now you gave me another question...  How exactly does the "All items must be in the cart simultaneously for discount to apply" disclaimer apply to this? Isn't the point of this sale to make a bunch of tiny sales? Or is the discount only good once per day?

If you get the freebie item today, you get an extra discount on other qualifying purchases today as well. I know that much.

Don't take my posts as complaining, as I like the sale, and have been waiting on a good iClone sale!!!   :)  I just want to work the best deal I can.

    Greetings,

For what it's worth there is a free item in the sale today so you could get that 10% tomorrow for nothing, or maintain your 40% for nothing.

Thank you for the information. Not that I don't trust you, but can some one official please confirm that this is the case?

It's on the store page; that's about as official as it'll get.  Typically the DAZ folks don't frequent the forum.

Also can someone tell me if what I am seeing (attached) is correct? The "Log in.." when I am already logged in is confusing. Am I at 4? Am I at a different level and the system isn't seeing me as logged in?

The 'Login in...' message is just informative, not situational.

And, lastly, can someone correct the Featured Artist Pages? When you click on the link it is first showing all the items that are not eligible. Can't you just not show these items? I know the extremely tiny (and barely legible) text says "excludes PC+ items and new releases." before the link. But those items should not even show up if you are following the endorsed "On Sale" link.

Anything which doesn't have the 40% off discount (and/or has the /NEW/ banner) is excluded; creating custom categories for all the artists is a PITA I imagine.

Hey, the revup format works fine for me, I am curious though if anybody has ever fought a fire in heavy pants and a bra... devil

    Depends on the 'fire'. devilkiss

I read it as 'The 1st (today), the 2nd (tomorrow), and the 3rd (Thursday)'.  So on the 4th, they will NOT be there, because that's the 4th day.

    A few other notes...

    • I believe you get the 'rev up' as soon as you buy an item, so if you wanted 10% off a bunch of things today, you could buy the freebie, then buy the other stuff in a separate transaction.
    • I am marginally sad that buying multiple items supposedly doesn't refresh/add multiple 'rev-up' points, but it's livable.
    • Putting a freebie in for the first day is a great idea, it lets folks get their feet wet with it, and helps them understand how it works.
    • Discounts ALWAYS multiply, not add.  So 40% off 40% is always a 64% discount and never an 80% discount.
    • If you buy something on a day when you have 4 Rev-Up points already, you can think of it as you now have a phantom Rev-Up point, so the next day you're still at 4.
    • Don't take the 'rev' metaphor too seriously; it's for fun, like all their big sales metaphors.
      • The best rule to always follow is to buy if you want something, and don't buy if you don't want something, and take any extra-cool discounts you get as sw33t, sw33t bonuses.
      • Trying to hyper-optimize your way through a sale will always lead to stress and frustration.  Seriously; don't do it.

    Have fun!

  • All well and good...  I still wish for the days of the "Plain Text Sales Explanation" thread.

It's a jumbled mess of confusing, contradictory, vague text. And most of the "fine print" is almost completely unreadable due to the tiny font size and lack of contrasting font colors.
