Where am I? When will I be home?
I have no idea where you are, but just remember: "No matter were you go... There you are".
You will probably be home later... Or sooner.
I am still not home. Ugggh
Dinohs
it's tricky scaling the ca landscapes for renders with figures. prolly easier to scale up the dinosaurs hmmmm
Still not home
gotta make it to work 4 days in a row startin tmorrow..
then VACATION. 11 whole days off in a row.
can't tell if there's extra oxious odor coming from my me. should prolly bring an extra toothbrush to work.
...sounds like the man in this song...
I don't know if Carrara's renderer (Does it have iray too? :< ) responds to scaling changes or not, but in renderers I'm used to (Maxwell, Vue, etc) scaling something up/down too much will drastically change how its rendered and break the realism something nasty. I was working with an iRay scene in C4D a long time back and it was crafted in a Milimeter scaling, so whenever I scaled it up to match my models the lighting would need to be adjusted too (And that wasn't always easy) or it'd look totally different. As such it was usually quicker to just scale the models down ^^
In Vue, scaling something up means the atmospherics will not look right. A six foot tall utahraptor would not "fit in" with his enviornment if the sky, fog, and so forth made him look like he was the size of a mountain XD
scaling effects how the sss looks too. i'm hoping the country lanes and secret lake are already scaled for figures.
Well, even though you are not home, you are where you are, which is somewhere after all, and even if that somewhere is not over the rainbow, at least it's not nowhere, which really can be anywhere, except for everywhere which in itself can be anywhere except for nowhere, because someplace has to be somewhere so that can't be nowhere.
But... Soon enough none of that will matter because you'll be home, which allegedly is where the heart is... Which is weird... Especially if it's in a jar or something like that...
You know I heard that long ago and never knew it was about the Boston MTA... I thought it was about the NYC MTA... Which also is always having fair hikes...
Poor Charlie... You'd think if his wife could hand him a sandwich, she could hand him a frikin' nickel so he could get off the damn train... Maybe it's a Boston thing.
Home now but already ate dinner. Tablet battery was low
Jaggi. I love cute artworks of Jaggi. Here's an alpha male sunbathing with his Jaggi minions <3
So far just Luxus.

Still pretty cool! I was always hoping for someone to write an exporter for Indigo at some point, but LuxRender seems like a good one as well. Maybe DAZ will port iray over to Carrara as well someday.
I'm afraid the effect would be somewhat lost on me even if they did though - I've long since moved on from Carrara, and have already dropped 3D as a hobby about a year ago :/
It'd still be cool news to hear regardless - Carrara I've still got a bit of a soft spot for since it was my first real step into the world of 3Ding <3
...too bad there isn't a Reality for Carrara. Lots more control over materials.
BTW, does Luxus require Daz or Carrara to remain open during rendering?
Could it be a short in the wire from the base to the monitor?

Very interesting video.

Cool!

...that wouldn't be good. Working on a tower is one thing, that I can do. Working on a notebook is akin to working on a watch in comparison.
The one odd thing is it happens almost like clockwork about ten minutes after the system boots up. I would think that were it a short, the issue would be much more random in its occurrence.
Look in the Windows even viewer for Power troubleshooting. There is a place for specifying when the screen turns off. It sounds like a timer event. After the recent Windows update, my computer started waking up after I put it to sleep. When I go to eat or watch the news or whatever will take me away from the computer for a while, I will hit Sleep on the start button. After that update, I've been finding the computer running when I came back to it. Also when I woke up in the middle of the night, I found it running. I Googled the issue and found out that a timer even was waking it up. Sure enough, when I viewed the Windows Event Log and looked at the power management troubleshooting, I saw that wake on timer events was enabled. The update must have reset that. So I unchecked it, and it hasn't happened again. While I was in there, I saw the different settings for when the screen turns off. So you might want to look into that some. Diane has found that the laptop is doing the same thing. Before, when we moved the mouse it would wake, but now we have to push the power button to wake it. I'll look into that, though it's not as severe as it sounds like you are experiencing.

At first I thought you were talking about a 3d model of a tower.
Any word from Starion and his surgery?
I wanted to go swimming today but it is cloudy outside.
pouring buckets outside. journey to work was soggifying.
It's raining today, finally... It has been very dry here this summer and foliage is starting to get dangerously dry. Yet each day the moron local weather forecasters are all excited that it didn't rain, yet again. They are gonna love global warming... " Another beautiful day in the upper 100s... Though it may drop down to 150 by tonite... But it's a great day for the beach, as there isn't a cloud in the sky!"...
We get brush fires here that can be very dangerous because of the amount of flammable Pitch Pine that grows here, a number of years ago I got stuck on a road that got closed down by an active brush fire... I was the third or fourth car from the point where they stopped traffic, and within less than five minutes the fire crossed the road. The woods which were all pitch pine burned like they were soaked in lighter fluid and the flame looked like they were leaping at least two hundred feet in the air. The fire occurred in a small state park which is surrounded by hundreds of homes and some factories... It's a miracle that none of them burned. This occurred about eight miles from my house, but when I got home, cornflake size chunks of "ash" (more like, small wafers of burned wood) were falling from the sky... It was surreal because they would tinkle like chimes as they fell.
But yeah... Glad for the rain.
Sure Happy It's Tuesday.
Studying TCP/IP, HTTP, Ethernet, and networking. This is something I never wanted to do, but here I am doing it. Feh. Well, it'll look good on a resume' and I get paid by ther hour, so.. fine.
Brain hurts, want to go home and hide from all this. Need the money, though.
I started in on a change of diet to lose weight. Been drinking these Atkins protein/vitamin shakes for breakfast, cut WAY back on the beer, and am generally trying to improve my health so I can hopefully crank out my music with less stress. Wish me luck...
Not yet. Starionwolf hasn't posted since the 5th, but has apparently visited and probably doesn't feel like doing anything but lurk. If you see this starion, hope you're feeling better. Get well soonest.
Kyoto,
Try this, connect your laptop to a monitor and check all your settings.
My bet is that after extended periods of open/close, the ribbon that connects your motherboard to the monitor is starting to break down. Not an impossible task to replace, but as was said, it's like working on a watch.
