It is snowing outside. Nice day to render something.

I hate this bug. I was trying to render an artistic nude of Victoria 6. Daz Studio/3Delight did not render her skin texture properly. I think someone mentioned that there is a bug with the elite human sub surface shader. I tried to reapply V6's texture but Studio still renders her skin incorrectly. Now I need to close Daz Studio and open it again.

This bug happens randomly without a noticeable pattern, at least from my view.

Unfortunately, they will probably not fix that bug. They are all but abandoning the Gen4 items it seems, so it's doubtful they'd even care about a bug for them. Plus they've got other shader tech now, and other lighting. Seems like everyone who wants high-res renders uses that Reality thingy.

...not necessarily as it doesn't allow use of a lot of special effects that are 3DL dependent. True I have it and am experimenting with it, but for some types of scenes I like to do (like my most recent RRRR submission or one I am currently working on) it definitely is not the best option.
LuxRender is best used for single figure portraits, I find.
If you want illustrations that tell a story (like my little Belle and little Brodie playing in the park with Bacon) 3Delight is the way to go IMO.

HiRes images coupled with unbiased render engines is a recipie for week-long renders right there, and that's before factoring in things like Stonemason's enchanted forest and multiple characters packed to the teeth with accessories.

Now you can shave a day or three of render time off that if you lowered the image resolution some, but I think what y'all meant to say was "high detail" and not high resolution :)

Not that you NEED 'Reality / luxrender' for high detail. You can get some good results with biased engine lighting as well if you set it up right. Though unbiased engines get that quality out faster and without much fiddling with settings and stuff, which probably is another reason 'Reality' is so popular.

Morning. Bleary eyed and melting like cheap chocolate in hot North wind :)

...from my perspective that just seems so wrong, North winds bring cold and snow here.

Where I am it's the east winds in summer off the high desert that bring us the hot weather while south winds usually bring us rain.

Living on the "left coast" is screwy.

Only New Zealand between us and the South Pole where all the cold wind blows from. North is all desert between here and the Indian Ocean so wind from the North gets plenty of opportunity to warm up. They are expecting 50C heat in the centre this week, is that around 140F or thereabouts ?
...we'll be lucky to see 50°F where I am.

...exactly, if you want to have a "personlised" style to your work, unbiased render engines are not the answer as they use real world lighting physics.

Well, to play Devil's Advocate, Ansel Adams might disagree.

...yeah, but he could "cheat" in the processing stage (postwork). That is why in my book, traditional photography with simple tools is an artform..

You can manipulate photographic media either at exposure or developing time tho, where unbiased rendering tends to be tweak resistant :)

some spammer is trying to use my e-mail address to sign up for a gaming account. I received the activation code but the spammer did not. Hah, silly spammer. Yes, I did change the password for my e-mail account.

I am going to contact the gaming company. The gaming company wants me to log into my account. In order for me to log in and reset the password, the site needs the answer to the password recovery question. But I don't know the question because I didn't create the account. Ah..

edit: since I cannot create a trouble ticket I will try to contact customer service via email instead.

    ok, that is all.

Keep a close watch on your money accounts for charges to the gaming company.

40F right now.. could be worse, I suppose.

Neck hurts from watching videos on the computer.. argh.. need to cut back on the Dr. Who marathons! :blank:

Intestines unhappy due to all the raw onion on yesterdays gyro :shut: I knew it would happen, but it was so tasty it was worth it! :cheese:

Breakfast will be chicken rotini soup once the meeting in the lunch room is over. It's annoying, this stupid early morning meeting.. can't reach the microwave! Darn it...

Got up at 5:15AM to catch the 6:05AM bus to get to work by 7:05AM. :blank: I need to get in early, so I can leave early. Plus, the 6:05AM bus is only one block from me, so no mile and a half hike in the freezing cold! :cheese:

Only drank 3 beers last night so I have 3 left for tonight, wheeeeee! :cheese:

Planning on holing up most of the weekend and working on music AND a pin-up! Will have to go out once for food shopping, though.. urgh.. :-S

...ever try Progresso soups? Campbell's puts MSG in all their products including their premium chunky soups, Progresso doesn't (though they don't make a chili).
