It is snowing outside. Nice day to render something.

I hate this bug. I was trying to render an artistic nude of Victoria 6. Daz Studio/3Delight did not render her skin texture properly. I think someone mentioned that there is a bug with the elite human sub surface shader. I tried to reapply V6's texture but Studio still renders her skin incorrectly. Now I need to close Daz Studio and open it again.

This bug happens randomly without a noticeable pattern, at least from my view.

Unfortunately, they will probably not fix that bug. They are all but abandoning the Gen4 items it seems, so it's doubtful they'd even care about a bug for them. Plus they've got other shader tech now, and other lighting. Seems like everyone who wants high-res renders uses that Reality thingy.

...not necessarily as it doesn't allow use of a lot of special effects that are 3DL dependent. True I have it and am experimenting with it, but for some types of scenes I like to do (like my most recent RRRR submission or one I am currently working on) it definitely is not the best option.

    Non-complaint!

The stupid motor control hardware/software I've been fighting for 3 weeks FINALLY WORKS! W00000000000t! :cheese:

Everyone in the office came down to my cube just to watch a motor spin (lol)! Serious stress loss, this has been giving me ulcers for ages.. this is the last part of the system I'd never seen work, and having never done motor control before this my confidence was "low to negative". :red: I should know better, but... ehhh..

So, party time, going to get a six of some kick-butt microbrew on the way home, throw on some metal, and PAR-TAY!

Not sure I'm going to put this on my resume'.. about melted my brain.. but the old dog can learn new tricks, as expected! :snake:

Going to sleep like a brick tonight, I bet. Soooooooo much more relaxed now...

...cool [raises a glass of Potato Wodka in salute].

Yeah motor control in the analogue days seemed much simpler (and less brain draining).

Morning. Bleary eyed and melting like cheap chocolate in hot North wind :)

...from my perspective that just seems so wrong, North winds bring cold and snow here.

Where I am it's the east winds in summer off the high desert that bring us the hot weather while south winds usually bring us rain.

Living on the "left coast" is screwy.

Back in the day, it was just a case of - more voltage, faster, less voltage, slower.

Now for brushless DC motors, you have to monitor the position of the rotor, and there are 3 magnets driven by six pulsing circuits, and the computer has to adjust which pulses in which magnets have to be activated how often..! :ahhh:

Yes, brushless DC motors MUST be driven by an intelligent external circuit. :blank:

Only New Zealand between us and the South Pole where all the cold wind blows from. North is all desert between here and the Indian Ocean so wind from the North gets plenty of opportunity to warm up. They are expecting 50C heat in the centre this week, is that around 140F or thereabouts ?

Missed the competitive UG by about 3 months. You could see if anyone is selling an older version like 10 on ebay and upgrade from there :)

    tdl maker woes.
there's a couple of fixes floating around the forum. iirc one was to clear the temp files so DS has to regenerate the files.

i don't think there is anything preventive we can do. not if we want sss

i been meaning to do an artistic nude of gianni. ;)

If you go to the temp folder (Edit>Preferences to see where that is) and delete the contents of the Shaders/Brickyard folder you should be able to render. It's an issue with the compilation of Shader Mixer-based shaders, such as the AoA SSS Shader.

Well...isn't that important enough for them to fix?

    Dana

They haven't said they won't - though since it's an intermittent issue it may not be quick to fix.

was trying to decide tween gianni and leon of the night, there's no reason can't have both, it's my fantasy, like the girl in the song crying at her party if she wants to

i don't even know the first rule behind ca vertex modeling. like, does it have to be closed like wings3d box modeling?

LuxRender is best used for single figure portraits, I find.
If you want illustrations that tell a story (like my little Belle and little Brodie playing in the park with Bacon) 3Delight is the way to go IMO.
