    Go Ravens! Beat New England!

If I gave a damn about football, that would have been insulting. :smirk:

...I do as besides having grown up in Wisconsin (it's in the blood there), it gives me a couple hours of entertaining distraction from RL issues. However, if someone said "Go Dallas beat Green Bay,' I wouldn't find it insulting, but just respond "...we'll see you on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field" (should be around 20° with chance of snow at kickoff on Sunday).

...that's usually what we get in winter where I live. No fun especially when water is falling from the sky.

I am so nervous that I cannot sit still. I want to get to the airport asap

Hang in there! I'm sure you'll be fine!

Thank you! I am trying to calm down.

Flying's not so bad. At least you get to sit in a nice comfy seat and let something else do all the work. Just think of those poor birdies. If you was like them you would have sore arms time you got where you are going. With an airplane once you get up to height you can just sit there and get bored, or read a book or something. Easy Peasy.

When my son first left home to go to Ireland he flew back to see us every two weeks. Flew in Friday and out again Sunday.

...here in the States, coach seats are far from comfy. especially if you are tall and/or have circulation issues. Once the person in front reclines, you effectively have someone sitting in your lap. To pack even more passengers in, many airlines have gone to a seat design that has a smaller frame and less padding. Fist class? It would be cheaper to rent a car and drive, plus, even being up in front isn't the same like it used to be either unless you are travelling overseas and on a good carrier like Virgin, Lufthansa, British, Thai, Qantas, or Emirates (crikey, flying tourist on Emirates is almost on par with first class on any US carrier).

My fear of flying these days is not from knowing I'm leaving the ground, but because of being nickle & dimed for every little thing that used to be included in the ticket price, getting stuck in that middle seat because they screwed up on my reservation, standing in long security lines, having to walk though that full body X-ray machine, being patted down like I was some sort of common criminal, hoping that we will be on time to make my connecting flight, hoping that connecting flight isn't on the other end of the terminal (or in "the other terminal" as is the case with hubs like DFW, LAX, and ATL) and wondering if I'll be flying the same airline on my return trip home because the one I was on went bankrupt and got bought out by another.

Thankfully for me, there is the train.

That's me, too. Not to mention the incredible hassle of getting my diabetes stuff onboard with me, the last time I flew I ended up having to get the managers manager involved and nearly miss my flight - and no apology, either. Bastards!

I bus and train now.. the long-haul busses are pretty nice, my trip from Austin to Tulsa was positively pleasant, and being able to walk around - and even get out and walk a bit - makes it less physically trying than you might imagine.

I don't hate flying as much as I hate all the crap around it. My next vacation will likely involve a long bus trip somewhere, if I can finally save up money for one!

Planning on staying indoors all weekend, eating pizza and chicken wings, and watching football in between recording sessions.

    Need... hot... tea... :ahhh:

And that was posted when? 8:50 am? It's 1:44 pm here and it's still only 27 F, cloudy, and there's snow on the ground. :shut: I was going to head out to the Post Office today, but I think it can wait until tomorrow.

The only reason the Plowboys won last week was that horrible blown call. I expect to see the 'boys lose miserably, buried in the cold and their own miserable defeat! :snake:

Weird fact: until I started watching football at strip clubs, after my divorce, I was a so-so fan.. now I tend to follow the Ravens (lived in the Baltimore area for years) and the Texans (for no reason at all). :blank:

And yet criminals are smuggling guns on planes every day! I just saw a thing about that on the news yesterday. How do they do it? They stop you if you have a bottle of something that's more than 4 ounces. Yet a gun can slip by? I remember maybe two years ago, some granny carried a 357 Magnum in her purse and flew, deboarded, and was finally found out getting onto the connecting flight! But you can't carry a cuticle scissors! Reminds me of a song...Looking for Terrorists in All the Wrong Places. (well, I took some liberties) %-P

Have you ever tried Mrs. Renfro's Hot Habanero Salsa? Made in Ft. Worth, TX. You should be able to get some around there. Go easy on it at first until you get used to it. I told my boss about it, at the last place I worked. He came to me one day and said, "I tried that salsa you told me about. I stirred it up and then licked the spoon." I immediately said, "NO! Too much at once!" He said his face immediately got all sweaty and he got the hiccups." I couldn't help laughing.

Finally ordered a wireless mouse for my laptop.. tired of the trackpad and tired of 2000 USB cables. Still takes up a USB port, but no cable in the way of my music keyboard!

Should arrive late next week, oh boy! :)

All finished now Misty... light drizzle outside for most of the day (which is weird in and of itself - we don't normally get rain in January here, it's supposed to be _summer_ >_<).</p>

    ETA: how's Florida, Miss Wolf?
