Yay! Good News. :)
Yeah and now bed time since I woke up around five am.
All finished now Misty... light drizzle outside for most of the day (which is weird in and of itself - we don't normally get rain in January here, it's supposed to be _summer_ >_<).</p>
ETA: how's Florida, Miss Wolf?
Tropical storms off and on here, occasional bits of heavy rain but mostly wind and lightning :)
Yay! Good News. :)
yay moar
Good news!
Dana
I hope you get some relief from that.

...I do as besides having grown up in Wisconsin (it's in the blood there), it gives me a couple hours of entertaining distraction from RL issues. However, if someone said "Go Dallas beat Green Bay,' I wouldn't find it insulting, but just respond "...we'll see you on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field" (should be around 20° with chance of snow at kickoff on Sunday).
The only reason the Plowboys won last week was that horrible blown call. I expect to see the 'boys lose miserably, buried in the cold and their own miserable defeat! :snake:
Weird fact: until I started watching football at strip clubs, after my divorce, I was a so-so fan.. now I tend to follow the Ravens (lived in the Baltimore area for years) and the Texans (for no reason at all). :blank:
...a good part of that Dallas win lays on the shoulders of the Detroit Lions basically not playing through the bad call and letting it get to them.
They could have gone for the first down on 4th and 1 (and probably got it) to keep the drive going and not give the momentum away. What do they do instead? They try to fake the Dallas D with hard count (which Stafford isn't that good at) then lose 5 yards on a delay penalty after which their punter shanks the kick for a 10 yd punt. After that it appeared Detroit had lost focus, becoming suddenly mistake prone, allowing Dallas to score the go ahead TD with the help of defensive holding penalty that turned what would have been a 4th and 10 field goal situation into a first and goal at the 8 yard line. The Lions still could have won it on their next possession but appeared to have become completely demoralised by then, fumbling twice, the second time being recovered by Dallas to end the game.
Maybe they should have watched a tape of the Outback Bowl between Wisconsin and Auburn where the Badgers came back in the second half after their QB Stave threw three interceptions in the second quarter. Wisconsin had a lot weighing against them (on top of the lousy first half performance and being given only a 1 in 3 chance to win before the game even started), including the humiliation of that 59 - 0 loss to Ohio State in the in the Big Ten Championship (against OSU's third string QB), as well as having lost their four previous bowl games. They could have let all that baggage get to them and simply gave up.
However there was still thirty minutes of game to go and instead of letting the past defeat them, the Badgers came out on fire after halftime with their running back Gordon rushing for three TDs and their defence stiffening up to deny Auburn several scoring opportunities. On three occasions Wisconsin went for it on fourth down situations, converting all of them (one being a 56 yard TD run by Gordon) coming from behind to force the game into OT (kicking the tying field goal with only 0:07 left) and ended up not only defeating Auburn 34 - 31, but the onus of being branded a "loser" in the eyes of the nation.
Now that is a "championship attitude". Something Detroit did not show in those last eight minutes in Dallas.
So once again I give Detroit the moniker "The Cowardly Lions".
In the "one or done" situation of the playoffs, you have to give it your all, you have to take chances, and you have to put whatever bad situations may occur behind you and play as if they never happened. If you don't, you lose and the other guy moves on.
...kind of like RL.
...OK this is bad. Been away for almost 6 hours and no new notifications
[crickets chirping]
...Bueller...? Bueller....?
I was trying to sleep not stay active online.
got up for a cuppa tea. but not officially awake. oops sunrise starting, in danger of waking up
forums giving 522 errors.
christmas tree still up, lights, pretty. how dull everyday would be without pretty christmas lights
Rest and recovery day for us, left the phone and ipad @ home :)
5:22 sounds more like breakfast time than an error message, also a good time for afternoon tea

Still alive this Caturday, even if my brain is trying to tell otherwise.
Headache came back for a moment this morning, but other than that, I got it defeated on Thursday/Friday.
Had difficulty falling asleep last night but today I might go to the zoo and then watch some of the Panthers fighting seagulls. Wait that did not come out right.
i hope you finish writing your novel one day, miss kulay, you have a wonderful written humor. :)
Good! Go away darn headache!
Good morning all! :)
Up and at 'em today, cleaning up my hard drive, installing a new synthesizer patch bank, drinking fresh ground coffee and nibbling sharp cheddar cheese. Nice way to wake up!
Soon, it's tutorial time.. trying to learn more about the instruments I own, in the hopes of learning how to program them instead of just using them. :cheese:
Might go out to watch the start of the Ravens game.. either that or I need to go beer shopping. 24F outside but should get up to around 40F today.
We are heading to the zoo.
Have fun! :)
Ok, basic initial recording of "Awakening" is done! The first track for my first album, wheeeeeeeeeeeee! :cheese:
Now it has to sit while I do other things, and tomorrow I'll check it again, and do a last finalization pass.
One down.. 11 to go.. :blank:
Have fun! :)
Thanks
