When the fire symbols are white instead of red, does that mean they're coming under control...or does it mean they're now white hot? :bug:

    Dana

Different colours are different alert levels but it might also mean alerts get up/downgraded at different times by different shifts, iz near realtime but not instantaneous cos the alerts are people rather than machine mediated. Much better than the old system anyhow but like yesterday shows when you got 100 mph hot winds blowing on a fire ground stuff changes faster than any human organised system can cope with :)

Right now (1338 AEDT) we're having a good day. So far

We were... then things flared up again...

(for Dana's edification - blue is 'safe', white is 'complete', and red is 'ongoing'...)

...don't do much fantasy stuff so Dragon3 is not as important. Biguannna would work better in Sci Fi settings.

They don't know how many houses are lost yet. Two thousand lost here in 2009, along with schools and fire stations over a quarter million acres.

Two thousand? Sounds like a bad idea to build in that area! I hope you're safe!

We're dong fine right now, just one largish. fire under control a little down the coast from here. Is narrow dirt roads in outer suburbs that are inaccessiible to big modern tankers that cause the most problems but given the weather conditions here in 2009 - so hot that trees suddenly shed leaves like it was autumn in the middle of summer - don't think any amount of rules and regulations could have prevented the losses, we can't just abandon bits of Melbourne and the quarter acre block in a semi rural neighbourhood is where many prefer to live, despite the difficulties :)

I'll post snippets in here for your listening (dis?)pleasure, like render drops (lol).

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.. GOOD MORNING FROM TULSA!

Brilliantly clear day after several days of freezing drizzle, all of 17F outside with an expected high of 24F. Put on your thermal undies! :bug:

    So far today, I have:

    - Ground and made coffee
    - Set up album project directories
    - Set up automatic backup of my music projects to the external HD
    - Removed a bunch of trash projects
    - Archived my older works
    - Updated all my music software

..and it's not even 9:30AM! :ahhh: Scary. :blank:

I have a bunch of blogs to clean up, and will get to that shortly. :)

Everyone, have a great day! :cheese:
