Pretty much what I get; I had to reload the page three times to fully populate the top 3 rows.
That fixed it, thanks Jon.
Now the only problem seems to be adding Categories, and I think that applies to everyone.
Adding to that. someone has just discovered another problem, Screen shot attached.
Existing Gallery owners cannot edit their profile, New people wanting to start a Gallery are not able to set up a profile nor a gallery name, so are posting images by "Anonymous"
We'll report the odd pricing on today's new DO items.
Carousels: novelty at the expense of usability.
They don't have a scrollbar, so using them involves either hovering and waiting or clicking which produces that awkward slide&jerk; and possibly accidental wrap back to beginning.
...hopefully the gallery issues will be taken care of as the PC Anniversary Challenge requires uploading submissions to the Gallery and noting in the comments it is for the Challenge.
Jack, maybe for the time being, submissions for that contest should just be posted to the thread.
This may also require the setup of new Gallery category like "Contests and Challenges" so submissions don't get buried (Both Rendo and Fantasy Attic do this). However, this is a whole different kettle of fish to deal with that is best left on the back burner until the issues with the store site are dealt with first.
i miss the scrollbar
it jitters on me the last one for fastgrab, only a tiny edge to click on
...several other sites use them, like the 3D Warehouse (Sketchup) and eBay, however pretty much only at the bottom of a product description page, and then, pretty much showing only related items or (in the case of eBay) items by the same seller.
I use Carousels all the time at Amazon. Here, I just scroll past them. I'm only interested in new stuff in the store so of NO use to me. Like to have a way to hide those here.
one more gallery isssue.
When adding a tag, the dropdown list with possibilities seems to be blank; only when hovering the mouse over it, the tags become visible
Just wondering, could this be a partial cause of some of the login problems some people have reported?
I use Firefox (current version), and it's always been reliable in autopopulating my name/password on the login page. It's never been able to do that* in the new store, I suspect because the login page is now a login popup which doesn't show when the page is first displayed by the browser. Autocomplete does work OK, though.
(I'm sure I remember a frequently-didn't-work popup was used in the first version of the Magento store Mk.1 but was quickly removed. Is Magento trying to tell us something, i.e. it doesn't know how to handle popups?)
And why are we always dropped to the Tonka Toy My Accounts page, instead of whichever page we logged in from?
* Except once — I accidentally hit instead of clicking into the text boxes, I came back to the login popup and there were my autopopulated login details.
not sure if this has been mentioned.. but the http://www.daz3d.com/freebies page only has 1 item on it.. I think it should have about 10 things??? it did last week. just letting someone know ... Happy Weekend everyone!
It will hide items you already own.
Hide Items I Own is not working properly for me — it still shows all of the Starter Bundles that are included in the Pro Bundles that I own.
This is a known complication -- it will hide individual items in a bundle, but not smaller bundles within a bundle. Nor will it hide a bundle if you buy all the individual items in it separately.
...this is getting ridiculous.
Got back online after being way for the afternoon, clicked a link in a reminder email for a specific thread, found I was logged out. OK that's happened before. However when clicked on "log in" t the top of the page I was first, I was sent to the store front page not the thread I was on. Second and subsequent attempts kept sending me to my account page instead of the thread I was on, requiring me to finally manually navigate back to the thread in I intended to read. After logging out and back in again, I closed the tab, clicked on the thread link in the email again, only to find I was back in "logged out" status again.
I'm sorry, but this is absolute rubbish. Even clearing cache and cookies (which I have done fairly often in the last few days) didn't help.
I noticed that too. I clicked on the email link and logged in, and the forum was FUBAR. Going to Shop, then Forums fixed the forums. Groan.
...I don't care what anyone says, this update was clearly and most definitely not ready for rollout. it seems the situation is getting worse instead of better.
It will hide items you already own.
oh yes... duhh... forgot I had that checked... I must have missed one... lol.. I'm such a ditz.. sorry :)
Seems to work fine for me. Just go to the DAZ store search (found at google.com), type in 'DAZ' and 'stormguards' and there it is.
In other news, I hate that the "What's Included and Features" on the product pages is now displayed horizontally.
...the issue is, we shouldn't have to go to Google to search for products on Daz's site. It doesn't work very well if you are searching with a a more general keyword either.
Yes I get a lot of that too. Or when they finally do load, I scroll down, the page rubber bands back up, scroll down again to actually see the bottom. Scroll back up and it has to RELOAD AGAIN? Umm shouldn't it already be loaded? Granted this is with larger pages with say over 60 items but sheesh. It went from smooth as silk and no problems to this. Fancy Vs useability, I will take useability any day. But sadly it seems like so many sites just want to tack on more and more scripting and fancy slowing one down to a crawl unless they have a T1 connection. Or only letting you load a image if you are viewing it. Which means you can't just let the page load and go do something meaningful while the monster site loads. You just have to fight by scrolling over, let it load a bit scroll more let it load, scroll a bit more let it load etc etc.
The update is not all bad though. Some features are nice, such as if you are looking at a product that requires other products to use it will say (owned) next to them if you already had them. Before I had to go check out the product page if I wasn't sure. But the images being too big and feels like pulling teeth load is a deal breaker. :/ I sure hope this is fixed soon.

Weird, the old site used to be able to track the purchase of a bundle within a bundle just fine (such as starter bundles within pro bundles).
All products within a bundle, including bundles, used to be marked as purchased. The redesign has broken this feature and I'd really like it back.
Both the old site and new site would not mark a bundle as purchased if all of the items in the bundle were purchased individually... which makes sense. (It would be convenient and user-friendly if it could mark them, but I understand why it does not.)
However, it is a big regression to be marking starter bundles as not purchased when they used to be marked as purchased, so I hope this bug gets fixed in the near future.

The tracking what you own and showing purchased and "hiding items I own" are driven by the same data. The old site (referencing the old magento site, not pre-magento site) didn't show starter bundles marked if a pro bundle was bought just like the current one. Not a regression as it never had that functionality. That seems to be an annoyance to a lot and something we would like to clean up though. There are a few issues with how the data is setup for it that we need to work through, but definitely something that will get some attention.
Thanks Jon!
And thanks for all the hard work — I'm sure this whole redesign has been a big undertaking, and everyone is probably looking forward to seeing the kinks worked out as we kick the tires a bit more, now that the beta site is live.
There are definitely a lot of great features and ideas in here.
For many of us long time users, it can be difficult to have so much change that we've been used to.
Is there still talk about getting the wishlist icon under the product thumbnails in category pages?
I missed a wishlisted item yesterday in the V4/M4 category and was very unhappy to have missed it ...
if you put that neat little heart to the left of the add to cart button, it would make it much easier for me!
I can't open ALL product pages in a category to find out whether I had wishlisted something ... I think that would crash my Firefox.
There is a problem with the "hide if I own this" filter and certain items showing up as purchased on the product page. I own both Mooch Tail Pro and the upgrade to the UCP. Both were part of very old DAZ PC sales (build-a-bundle or make-your-own-bundle). Both are in my product library showing as "inactive". I have other older "inactive" products that show up either above or below the inactive listing without the inactive designation. These products are filtered out and do show as purchased.
Thank you.. thank you.. I love it!
The site actually remembers me now and I don't have to log in every time I come here!
Really like the new store look too!

...on the other hand I have to log in every time I turn on the computer.
This morning, after starting the computers up, I experienced even more fun having to bounce back and forth between the forum email bot in my Daz Forum inbox, the forum thread it linked to, and the store multiple times just to get signed into the forums. Same as yesterday, except this morning signing in takes me to a low res HTML version of the account page (see below) instead of back to the thread. Again going back to clicking the email notice and clicking on the link to the thread (so I didn't have to manually navigate there) signs me back out. As I have been doing everyday since the new version of the site went live, I have been clearing cache and cookies but seemingly to no effect.
Before the "update", If I discovered I was logged out after clicking the link in the email I simply clicked the login button on the top of the forum page I was on, signed in, and was taken directly back to the thread I was linked to instead of my account page, the store, what I saw this morning (and I have a high speed connection).
...this is supposed to be an improvement?

Am I not following, or is there a typo? That sounds to me like it's working correctly.
