I am having the DIM issue...can still download but am being logged off periodically before all downloads can finish. Says too many connections? Is that a security issue (someone got my password) or a server issue?
DIM only allows a single connection at a time per user, so if you have more than one copy of DIM running you will run in to that problem. If you are sure that you are only running one copy of DIM on all of your computers at a time let me know and I can look into it further.
Also, DIM and DazCentral use the same backend servers so their sessions are shared, which means you can only have one DIM and DazCentral connection combined, just in case you were trying to run both for some reason
This started happening to me yesterday (or possibly the day before). I don't have more than one copy of DIM running and do not use DazCentral. It seems to happen off and on. It repeatedly refused to connect last night with the "too many connections" error dialog. But, this morning I was able to sucessfully log in download my purchases. It is now telling me that it has lost connection to the DAZ store, yada. I just started a new login and it went fine. I have no idea how long it will be, though, before it loses the connection.
I only have one DIM session open and I do not have DazCentral open. I can relog just fine, but after some time it will keep getting logging me out.
Yeah, less than an hour after I tried (and succeeded), I got booted again. Same error. No good reason for it on my end.
Actually, it started once the forum graphics re-appeared last weekend. I mentioned it several days ago. Open a second tab with the same thread, and quote from there. Use the first one to refer to other posts.
I got kicked off DIM mid download with the too many connections message today twice too,
I do have two computers and know from experience can only use it on one at a time, both times were on my Win10 not the Win7,
I did have DAZ studio rendering on the Win7 though while downloading on the Win10 but I don't log in on DAZ studio or use connect on either.
The Win7 later downloaded my stuff no issues.
DIM was disconnected twice today, less than an hour after starting up and logging in, once in the midle of downloading. Only happened once before, a few days ago. Another thing that annoys me is that you must go offline, instead of cancelling and not continuing. It takes mine 15-20 minutes to rescan everything offline or not, and if I have nothing to download or install, then there is no point continuing. Plus, it wastes that much time, and the time it takes to refresh again when you log in the next time.
Edit: That didn't come out right. If I DO have stuff to download, there is no point continuing offline.
Also noticed (before the connection was lost) thet there was an update for Barlow House Ravenskull Court, one of the files identified (in the sales thread) as not having any download methods on the Product Library page. That aspect has not changed, so, what? Coincidence? Can't see the release date until I can get back in.
This only started a few days ago and has nothing to do with having more than one DIM client connected.
For a while I was not able to log on DIM at all except to install files I had previously downloaded and saved. Now I get the intermitent logging off while downloading as well. I only have one DIM running and it has happened with my home server as well as the one at school. Thank goodness I can get some downloaded now since I had an external 5T drive crash and lost everything on it.
I see a new feature has product thumbnails in the "Additional Products used in Promo Images" instead of just hyperlink text (at least on the newer product pages). Less clicking around to see exactly what's referenced, although it can be a bit much. The "My Furry Friend Poses" has no less than (or at least, maybe there's a limit) 16 products used (if logged-in you don't see those you own).
Edit: Actually, "SY Super Suits 2 for Genesis 8" has 35 referenced products. Takes up a lot of real estate.
Now, how about something like that for add-ons, like we used to have? I would actually find that more useful.
Agreed on all counts. Cool feature, maybe limit how many thumbnails are displayed and show the rest as links. And PLEASE bring back add ons seriously how is that not back yet :(
This isn't a problem with our site. The Mcafee software is attempting to man-in-the-middle your connection to our server for some reason, if you look at the hostnames on the SSL certificate it is presenting for www.daz3d.com it is definitely not any certificate of ours.
If it works on some browsers but not Waterfox it's probably because McAfee is injecting fake SSL certificates into your system in order to snoop your traffic on normally secure sites and Waterfox isn't allowing that SSL injection to happen.
Same here.
Same here. Just one instance of DIM running. First download seems to be okay, with the second item the connection breaks. With more than 200 GB still needing to download, thats a first-grade nuisance. Since the store update nothing has gone better, everything seems to be worse.
I'm trying to download everything at the moment, as this erratic behavior by DAZ software makes me think twice trusting their servers.
Not good
At all.
Can confirm this. It started Dec 6th. Never had seen that message before. Since then, I get it a couple of times every day. It is a massive pain in the back, having to restart the download after basically every larger file. Sometimes, DIM shows that message while downloading larger files, usually above 200 MB. I have reduced the number of simultaneous downloads to one, still no hange. I have only one single instance of DIM running, and DAZ Studio is not running.
PLEASE Remove the Default Hide Items I Own from Search Function.
DAZ_Rawb,
Thanks for the info. The browser side just gave me an idea as to potential issues. Last night I cleaned out my DIM log file and researched the error. This morning tried to log into DIM and got the following error:
2020-12-10 06:00:21.562 Connected to CMS: PostgreSQL 9.3.4, compiled by Visual C++ build 1600, 64-bit
2020-12-10 06:00:31.641 WARNING: SSL Error: 22 - The host name did not match any of the valid hosts for this certificate
2020-12-10 06:00:31.641 Network Error during authentication.

2020-12-10 06:00:35.091 WARNING: SSL Error: 22 - The host name did not match any of the valid hosts for this certificate
Research also indicated that the error could be an IP addressing issue, if the incoming requests were dynamically assigned to a shared IP at the service provider before going to the DS website servers, and one of the Non Daz website sharing that incomming IP had SSL issues, then this error could occur.
Haven't run a website for 15 years so some of this newer stuff I haven't kept up on. Just trying to look for things that might help resolve the problem.
Edit to add additional information. Before all this started, I used to open DIM and start downloading on 2 connections. Once it started, I would open my browser and login to my account go to the product library, and check the individual products to make sure I had or needed "Required Products" or "Additional Items" I might want to buy. Going from DIM to Daz website after the DIM failure is where the brower redirect issue was noticed. It occured to my to try the opposite. I logged into my account, went to the main "Shop" page, then tried to start DIM. DIM still failed to start with the same error, but the website continued to operate normally at log out.I am struggling to DL my purchases this morning and like others, keep getting the following message:
I am able to close DIM, re-launch it and download another file before getting the message again. Rinse and repeat.
This is a serious waste time. Are we being throttled on purpose? If so, is it temporary? And if temporary, when will it stop?
Thanks in advance for any info.
- Greg
Same thing started happening to me on tuesday evening, prior to that my diM was working properly 99 % of the time.
Yeah I used to get a few files out of a day's purchases that would fail to download, but it used to be reliable for the most part.
Another question, can we rely on DIM to have all our purchases, or do we have to make sure that everything we purchase makes it into DIM?
- Greg
Tried the whole afternoon. I HAD TO START DIM FOR EVERY SINGLE FILE ANEW!!!
That is ... intolerable. To say it politely. Why is it always DAZ I have trouble with, wether it is the store or DIM? Renderosity never ever had such issues!
I'm finding DIM to be much slower than what it used to be. Other than that, it seems to be fine.
I made a couple of orders through P/pal last night. Both were successful. Although, I've now renamed the moment when waiting for the order to be confirmed on the re-direct, "squeaky bum time". I got it from an English ex-football/soccer manager. ^^'
At least you people are able to buy stuff! Daz cant even process payments anymore! smh.
Yes, the network error started for me on Tuesday, December 8. I posted about it here.
New releases are still broken, Daz Studio log is full of 400 Bad Request.

On the other hand, I have not had a single "Download Failure" since Dec 6th. Could it be that they implemented something to fix the "Download failed" thing, breaking something else?
No, Download Failed was still happening to me on December 8 and 9, so I don't think it was fixed; I think you were lucky.
This store update will discourage me to purchase new releases after 3 months of issues.
