Sigh. was just hoping that we see some progress, like "two steps forward, one step back". I have to turn down my enthusiasm morph a bit, I suppose
Can't access this product in my product library:
Blair Hd And Expressions For Genesis 8 Female
https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_59403
Daz Connect can't download these products
I always manually install everything that I can. I really can`t stand DIM and Smart Content LOL
But after purchasing Accelerator For Ultrascenery, I discovered that I had to use DIM in order to get my hands on the DLL.
DIM was having none of it! I could not download anything at all.
So I installed the latest version of DIM, and that fixed the problem. I did not even have to uninstall the old version.
I hope that this can help some.
I just decided to reorganize my content. What a mistake. I uninstalled everything, to start over. DIM kept saying I had too many connections, and wouldn't work. Gee, DAZ, thanks for installing a brand new store, and breaking everything in the process.
Yeah, I was thinking what an awful time it would be to do something like that:( Hopefully, now that lots of us have confirmed that it isn't just a couple of people doing weird things, they'll be able to fix it quickly enough
Gah! What was I saying about DIM? Forget it. I'm now getting the multiple connections error too.
I've been trying to download dForce Sunset Rider Outfit for Genesis 8 Male(s). But the download keeps failing.
Here's what worked for me to get my Ready To Download populated, and to eliminate the pesky popup about too many server connections for the most part. And NO I didn't have more than one DIM or more than one of anything running. I apologize if I posted this earlier, I can't tell if this was just a draft, got posted, or just a leftover. Tech Support suggested that I create a new account, log in to DIM, then log out. Then log in with the account I use. It fixed my Ready To Download being empty, and for the most part, the too many connections issue. I usually can download all my order, then I get that popup AFTER it's done installing IF I leave DIM open a few minutes. You may want to try that. It has worked for a couple people, they still get the error but usually can download their orders or more of it than before.
I've been going through a long period where, once again, I question the amount of money I spend on DAZ content. In 20 years, I really haven't produced any "art" that makes things feel worthwhile.. I finally got a new PC that would handle iRay easily. But by that time, I had already lost the joy of "making art." My creative energy level is a fleeting thing. All too often it's rocked by a simple thing like not being able to find the content I've purchased. I always struggle with the concept of how DAZ handles installing our content, etc.
Now we've been suffering for about a month with the Store Software Apocalypse. I won't buy any DAZ content until 2021. If things improve by March 21, 2021, maybe I'll buy myself a DAZ Birthday Present. Otherwise I'll likely look at buying new "art software."
Has anybody succeded to download all parts of https://www.daz3d.com/neo-city--alley
I only got part 4 out of 5 (6th is just OBJ).
After that I got a message
On the positive side, I finally got all parts of https://www.daz3d.com/tinkerers-workshop so thanks for it.
It is a bit heavy on resources, but looks very nice. 8GB of video memory was not enough to render it, though.
Below is its render, after 1 hour 26 minutes on CPU.
yeah my 980ti didn't stand a chance but it fit on Filament

I'm now seeing reports that suggests that my ISP, CenturyLink pushed a firmware update to my fiber router (they use McAfee's security product - I don't), resulting in Daz3d being intermittently blocked (and DIM not working). Not sure what to do next. Haven't been able to logon to DIM for a couple weeks.

DIM can't stay connected for more than an hour, if I'm lucky, but usually about 20 minutes during the day (EDT). At night is better, but gotta sleep sometime...
For mysterious reasons Shogun HD for Genesis 8 Male is missing in Smart Content.
Daz Connect is available for this product.
Yes, that is really a pain. The other pain is that I am not able to re-connect, no matter what. I have to quit DIM and restart it. Today I even had to kill it the hard way via the console to get DIM to quit. Please, DAZ, fix asap, this is really a showstopper.
Well, I suspected this. I recently upgraded to a C3000A modem, before upgrading my service. Was going to wait till the weekend to research and test, but after seeing your post, I shut down my computer and put my old modem back on service.
After rebooting and Windows finishing it's start-up routine, I opened DIM and it connected. Showed Product Updates for several products.
Wonder now how DAZ is gonna handle a major DSL/ISP provider blocking their software. There has to be a lot of DAZ users with CenturyLink as their ISP, modem supplier.
Odd that the website seemed to work (for the most part) but DIM didn't. Guess for now I'll have to stick with the old modem.
It isn't hanging around in Ready to Download, so presumably it all arrived for me.
DIM & DazCentral sessions should be sticking around better now, so let me know if you are getting kicked out while only using a single login at a time on your account.
Since I'm highly non-technical, I have a question. Would people leaving DIM open when not in use impact that server connection thingie? I get off it when I'm done downloading/installing, but I'm wondering if folks leaving it on after use (in case they want to install something else, they'e working on a project, etc) impacts everyone else?
A techie answer: it depends.
If DIM is well-behaved, it should just sit there and do nothing. It should not leave any connection open if all downloads have been finished and there is no longer need to be online. If the developer(s) have done their job well, it should not have any effect if you leave DIM open, Biut only DAZ can give a definite answer, as they have the sources to DIM.
Perhaps I should run my network tools in the background next time :-)
Even though I'm getting quite a few "download failed" results, I'm at least seeing the available downloads and they are going to the "ready to install" tab. Oddly, they are moving very very slowly from "ready to install" to "installed."
I leave my DIM open all the time, since it takes quite some time to log in and find the gazillion purchases I've made on my old rust based FS. However, if Rawb asks nicely...:) I'm happy to stop doing that.
I'm unable to manually download a template file with an '&' in the filename:
Templates_78943_Poppy_Hair_for_Genesis_3_&_8_Females.zip
When I click on the button to download the ZIP file I get:
{
"code": "bad_request",
"message": "Bad character in percent-encoded string: 38 (0x26)",
"status": 400
}
And, of course, ASCII char 38 is '&'.
I have some other ZIP files (all templates) that were downloaded before the store change. The most recent was August 28, 2020 so maybe before the transition to the new download system, too.
Has anyone been able to manually download (from the web product library page) a product or template ZIP with an '&' in the ZIP filename after Nov 1, 2020?
Thanks.
@DAZ_Rawb, DIM has stayed connected for 2 hours now. Never made it past 10 minutes recently.
Leaving it on and running causes it to hit the server a time or two every fifteen minutes to keep your session alive, so it's not much of a strain at all on our resources. I appreciate your concern though.
Is Daz even addressing any of these problems. I'm still amazed how this company attitude is kinda like "Meh, they'll figure something out. How is it that several people are getting "Error processing payment" and its not being taken seriously? isnt the bottom line for all buisness's $$$? how can this be ignored is beyond me.
Yup, much better today. Haven't been disconnected for, oh, many hours...
I had WireShark running for a couple of hours, and can confirm that DIM really behaves nice
. The developers did a good job. DIM does check every now and then if downloads/updates are available, but that is just a few requests, and it should not create a big load on the servers.
