Is Daz even addressing any of these problems. I'm still amazed how this company attitude is kinda like "Meh, they'll figure something out. How is it that several people are getting "Error processing payment" and its not being taken seriously? isnt the bottom line for all buisness's $$$? how can this be ignored is beyond me.

    That's a big assumption there.

I will concur that DIM seems to be behaving  better today.  I got kicked off once this morning but after reconnecting it's been going solid for hours.

Hi. I manually downloaded DS 4.14.08 just a few days ago.
It isn't showing up today in my Product Library. I need to download it again because I can't find that other download. (I think there's a newer version available, anyway)...
Is there another source, or is there a problem now in our product libraries?

    Edit to add, "Thanks!"

I purchased that recently too and it took me days to get downloaded, too, but  I was able to get it successfully.  Just keep trying!

Actually, thinking about it, I might have actually downloaded the zip manually to the DIM downloads folder.  There was one from the same bundle I did - and one that I tried to but I couldn't even successfully download from the library, but it eventually came down with DIM.

It should be listed as “Daz Studio 4.x Pro” in your product library.

The download links are still rolled up with the Description. Expand it and scroll down a bit to get to them.

What kind of issues? I had some, and I would assume that it affects lots of people, but talking to support it looked like I'm the only one with that particular issue.

I'm now seeing reports that suggests that my ISP, CenturyLink pushed a firmware update to my fiber router (they use McAfee's security product - I don't), resulting in Daz3d being intermittently blocked (and DIM not working).   Not sure what to do next.  Haven't been able to logon to DIM for a couple weeks.

Well, I suspected this.  I recently upgraded to a C3000A modem, before upgrading my service. Was going to wait till the weekend to research and test, but after seeing your post, I shut down my computer and put my old modem back on service.

After rebooting and Windows finishing it's start-up routine, I opened DIM and it connected. Showed Product Updates for several products.

Wonder now how DAZ is gonna handle a major DSL/ISP provider blocking their software. There has to be a lot of DAZ users with CenturyLink as their ISP, modem supplier.

Odd that the website seemed to work (for the most part) but DIM didn't.  Guess for now I'll have to stick with the old modem.

I think you can circumvent your ISP blocking sites by using a VPN provider but like who wants yet another extra bill to pay? If you don't know what a VPN (virtual private network) is what businesses often use to secure the connections of their remote workers.

I'm not having issues yet, my subscription will expire in about 4 days from now, but with the store like this I was wondering if I would better cancel my subscription and repurchase when the store works correctly.

I wouldn't cancel, or make other changes to the subscription, this close to expiration, because auto renewals are processed a few days early, so at best it will go through (or already has) or worse it will cause other problems.

Last year, I decided to change my renewal option to monthly and waited until about a week before expiration to do so. It didn't work properly, so subscription ended. It took several weeks to get it fixed at a time when there weren't long ticket backlogs, because the first rep just said, "You can't do Monthly unless you have a current subscription" and closed ticket as resolved -- even though I had a current sub when I changed it. (Hmm, wonder if this rep is still around and that's why I keep reading"My ticket for XYZ was closed but XYZ is still happening/not happening" posts?)

You should cancel if your gut is telling you to do it. Plain and simple.

I have that problem with a template for a different product that has spaces in the name of the ZIP file.  Do you see spaces in the filename that's giving you problems?  Or if you "Copy URL" from the "Download zip" button for the template and paste it into an editor do you see spaces encoded as %20 in the URL?

The filename in the one that I have a ticket open for is:

    Templates_72175_dForce%20Roanmara%20II%20for%20Genesis%208%20Females.zip

(don't paste your whole URL because it has authentication info at the end)

I also have a ticket open because of '&' embedded in the template name for  sku::78943.

Seems there needs to be better input validation enforced by software when naming ZIP files.

Starting last night I am getting page errors that say the page can't load, do I want to wait or exit the page ...very annoying as the page never continues loading if you click wait, you have to exit the page then you get another error saying something went wrong with loading the page .... so frustrating as I was reading a very long thread on Ultrascenery and keep having to try to get back to where I was reading when the page quit loading.

Some posts with multiple quotes are doing strange things. When the mutliple quotes strangeness first started, I went back to one of my posts that had been exhibiting the start of this behaviour and edited out the block quotes portion of my message.  That fixed up that thread.

Yes,  but that doesn't work with all of them.   Some refuse to be edited  and display the yellow error message.  It does also seem to depend on the Browser how they react.

  • Chrome is not handling them on either of my computers but at least it doesn't crash like my iPad does on both Safari and Firefox angry

Thanks much for the VPN suggestion!!!

I've known of VPNs but never had a need for them, until now.  I found that ProtonVPN offers a free VPN for one device:  https://protonvpn.com/pricing Almost instantly, DIM started working and I was able to download and install the 44 packages that I ordered over the last couple weeks.

With the traffic first going through a remote non-highspeed VPN server, it did take about 3 times longer than usual to download the files, but it wasn't that long.

That said, I sure hope DAZ contacts and works things out with McAfee, as the security product that McAfee sells to ISPs (and which currently blocks DIM, and intermittently blocks daz3d.com) probably impacts a lot more ISPs in addition to CenturyLink, and a TON of DAZ users.

There was one "gotcha" with the free version of ProtonVPN:  After installing the software, when you connect to their VPN server, you cannot use the username and password you set up with your ProtonVPN account.  It turns out that the OpenVPN GUI required a special username and password, which is  listed on your ProtonVPN account page.  After that, it was extremely easy to use.

PS:  To avoid potential issues with Zoom, and other packages that I use, during installation, I UNCHECKED the option to have OpenVPN load at startup.   I'm running Windows 10.  When I want to use the VPN, I just click on the OpenVPN GUI icon on my desktop, then right-click on the OpenVPN icon in the system tray (the area near your clock).  I then choose the VPN server to use, and paste in the special username and password.  After that, DIM works.

PPS:  As expected, as soon as I disconnect from the VPN server, I can no longer log onto DIM and get error messages when connecting to Daz3d.com.  So the problem continues, but at least VPN can be used as an interim measure.

Also note that Robert Friese in an above post states that Opera browser has a build in VPN. I'm not sure of the technical aspects of such an implementation by the Opera company as compared to an exclusive VPN provider though.

You might consider opening tickets to your ISP and to McAffee both as well.

I did test the Opera browser VPN, your IP is hidden, and like the exclusive VPN provider you tested it does work but you would have to use the manual download via Opera browser and then install your DAZ content. So if you do things like download DAZ DIM, DAZ Central, Unity, UE4, and similar products with online installers and online licenses or play online games then probably ultimately you're going to want to got the $79 a year ultra fast VPN service. It depends on how much your ISP & McAfee interfere and miscategorize websites you use.

I was able to run DIM without any problems today. Well, the job was very long because I insisted on breaking up my content collection into a few categories.
