Daz_Rawb has posted in this thread, and he's as official as it gets with respect to web issues. Of course his comment that the store geernally did, by usage statistics, seem to be working fairly well now has become a bone of contention as it has been read as dismissing the people who do conmtinue to have issues, or have stumbled upon new issues.
I'm sure it's true that there are people who are having issues and not posting to the forums - but a lot of regular forum posters are not reporting issues, and I would expect that if there were a massive number of non-regulars affected at least some would start posting to the forum. Clearly downloads are problematic, and daz Rawb has said he is working with Daz's service provider to resolve them, but not everyone is affected equally. Yes, there seem to be a number of Connect issues (I have several products, including the Nico outfit and most of the second batch of animations, with no files and a number of other products with unreadable files) - I don't know if they are universal or if some of us are just unlucky; I do know that at least soem of those affected have been reporting the issues to Daz. I realise that if you are experiencing any (or all) of the problems then saying it isn't affecting everyone can feel like a dismissal, but I don't believe that is the intent - rather it is explaining that the issues are intermittent, possibly just bad luck or perhaps some quirk of routing or the sequence of envents in relation to your account; Daz has no intention of leaving people high-and-dry, but with many of these issues it isn't in a postion to just say "oops, we needed to flip that switch" to resolve them. it's going to take time, and reports so don't feel you need to keep silent, to sort everything out.
I got most of the food shader files without problem via manual download, but spent most of today getting 02, 06, and 09 (in the end 2 via DIM, 1 manually).
The whole thing is very frustrating.
The download issue does seem to be worse for large files, which I think these are.
Yes, they are large, all around 500 MB
I also spent much of yesterday trying to download Gustavo Hair, which is only 132.
While it has been working for quite awhile, my DIM has now gone backward and is not not showing ANY products available for download (neither old or new) -- Just like it was right after the store change.
There is no sense in buying anything here if I can't get them in DIM.
Edited to add appropriate excerpt from DIM log:
That's why I only bought 4 inexpensive items this week. Only 2 will download. That's a 50% failure rate.
and the shop seems to now be kaput - completely bypasses the payment choice and goes to place order icon then does nothing
I had no issues with the food shader files at all, despite their size, but struggling with getting some others. Namely, today's "Cosy Porch", and a couple of older things ("Oasis Temple", "New York Stores"). It is not limitted to large files, I have also issues with "dForce Mariposa Princes Outfit", which happens to be 67,8 MB in size. It does neither work with DIM nor manual D/L.
I've had that once or twice, a refresh worked for me.
The download works up to 40 to 60 MB now, but this file has 450MB.
A resume just starts at the beginning.
I thought that my computer was just having problems but I see that many others are having troubles downloading large files. Just bought Bryce 7.1 Pro Vegetation, both over 650 MB and they will not start, finish and/or I get an error message that the source file can not be read. Cleared all data and cache multiple times. I've only tried manually because it's for Bryce. Plus every time I try to download them I have to log in again. Looking forward to the new store when it is up and running.
Glad I found this thread and see I'm not the only one experiencing problems with Install Manager and/or Manual Downloads. I have failures on various file sizes so I don't agree it's only larger files. Seems like the service/server is resetting halfway through the download. I guess I'll wait and see if it gets fixed ....

it did work third time round but now have theres a 400 mb and a 500 mb file that fails part through every download - on the good news side the 500mb file finally completed - trouble is each fail is still using server and network bandwidth - adding up the failed downloads that 500mb file has used well over 1.5 gig before on the 15 th attempt it completed
I already supposed that I would not be alone with 'download failed' .
So better be a bit patient, and try again when most kids are asleep...
Not only larger files, rather that larger files are more susceptible.
With so many download failures now, I hope they can find the problem. It should be easily reproducible now.
The servers do seem better than yesterday - the 400 mb file finally completed on the 26 th attempt but used 2.3 gig bandwidth / switch / server time to do it ( and thats not counting how many times I tried yesterday). Not sure if Daz if going through temporary glitches with hope on the horizon but extrapolating 3 to 6 times the hit on bandwidth / switch / server time from these downloads it seems to have all the makings of a network storm
At least you guys can connect to the severs. I can't even get DIM to find any of my products.
I've noticed for the last month that the Weekly Freebie page has the exact same items on it I bought from back then. It hasn't refreshed itself for a month now. It is probably the lowest on the pole, but is this an issue with the site itself? I don't get why though, unless it just doesn't matter at the moment?
I've got my cart full and yep. Everything is screwed up again. Cannot check out cannot browse items. Just shows categories trying to retrieve and nothing happens. Also happened during the big platinum sale. I gave up on that one totally. About ready to give up on spending here. Every sale there is a huge glitch and you can't do anything.
Just a wild guess: last time I ran into a similar issue in one of my projects it was because of an incorrectly configured load balancer. Instead of diverting the additional load to another server, it answered with an error 500. Not easy to debug, because you won't see an issue unless server1 signals that it is under heavy load and would like to have additional traffic diverted to server2.
As far as I know it's just that the list hasn't been refreshed.
I finally got all 4 products I purchased this week to download! It took many many attempts over the course of multiple days in DIM.
...bugger, now getting the annoying "oops" page when trying to purchase a gift card. Been going on for a couple days. Fix one thing, and another breaks, an axiom in the programming world.
...this is my thought as well. As Daz Rawb mentioned they moved to a new cloud based download server a few months ago and that is whne I noticed this occurring (even with manual downloads).
...I had this happen just over a year ago as something with the IM became corrupted after an update (I found it kept placing the logon .ini and .JSON file in the wrong locations) I first brought it up on the forums and then filed a ticket and was told to just open a new account which didn't sound good for a number of reasons. hne I figured out where the two misplaced files needed to go it worked again but with the caveat of having to manually enter my password each time as it would crash if I saved he password (fortunately I have a password locker I could copy it from). However, every time the IM had another update the corruption issue would return and on top of that it would reset the install settings to default status, wiping out all my install paths and preferences (I have custom library/runtime set up). So instead, I just went to manually downloading, then moving the zips in Windows to the DIM Downloads folder and opened up the IM in offline mode for installing.
Apparently the issue was not on my end as some thought, as the most recent IM update (which I tried as I was getting no beta updates [missed like three]) fixed whatever corruption issue was and it works fine even with a saved password, at least the last time I used it (just tested it and it opens fine).
This search engine desperately needs to be reset or fixed or SOMETHING.
I was trying to search for a vendor, "ablaze", to find the name of a product that is old enough that I haven't used it in a while and don't remember the name -- I don't know if they've been removed from the store or not, though I think they may have been. However, I can't do the search, because instead of telling me that the search term can't be found in items I don't own, it automatically assumes that instead of "ablaze" in a product I do own, i'm searching for the word "albane" in a product I don't own, and it automatically throws me to the product page for Albane III. Unfortunately, this happens so fast that I can't uncheck the box for "Hide Items I Own".
There's no good reason for a one-to-one match to throw you automatically to the page for the item from the search request, and even less when it's the wrong item and you can't do anything about it.
If I could search by vendor name in the product library, I could get around this, but that hasn't been an option for ages, if it ever was.
Filing a ticket, just to see what happens.
Just at the moment I can only see the banners in the store, and it freezes with the message "Calculating.."
Has done so for the last hour or so.
Regards,
Richard.
Update, this evening I was finally able to complete my checkout using PayPal. Thank you Daz for fixing whatever was broken. Now I can starrt spending too much money again!
Finally downloaded everything that's been sitting in DIM by downloading them one at a time, but I've just purchased four items and nothing is showing up in DIM.
