To echo others, downloads are failling - again.
Purchased https://www.daz3d.com/kherington-hd-for-genesis-8-female, and both the first and second files fail at less than 25% complete
No, you're not. My last successful purchase here was November 13th. I'm waiting for several lots of reversed payments (Paypal) to hit my account, before I can buy again. I don't know how long it'll take though (the reversal), as I've never been in this situation before. :(
For several days now, when I launch DIM (the DAZ Install Manager), and enter my password, a dialog box reports "Unable to login to the specified account. Verify the email and/or password and try again. The system has no problem letting me logon to daz3d.com and spend money, but when it comes to using DIM to download them, the same password no longer works. I submitted a ticket on Friday.. and the autoresponse cautioned that "it can currently take 4-6 weeks for a response at this time". Fortunately, I can go to my order and manually download and install the products I need for this week's projects --but it is costing me a lot ot time.
Is anyone else experiencing a problem logging onto DIM?
I've had both of these problems intermittently (sometimes for days) not counting 9 days of being unable to log in at all. Sales Support had to spend over an hour trying to log into my account before I was sorted. Besides DIM being unreliable and the chronic Daztopia, my issues have cleared up. You may need someone to take the time to fix your specific issue. It took me almost a week to even get an answer to my ticket---and my purchases average $10,000 annually for the past five years---so, I don't know how to get special treatment.
I haven't bought anything myself in the past few days, but decided to have a quick look at my account to see if anything changed. I had updated my credit card a few days back, did a few test purchases, and everything worked. So, went to check my account based on your question to see if anything changed. Yes, it had. The change is related to the address = I now had 2 showing, almost identical but one had an additional line. So I've deleted one, and edited the other because it no longer showed I lived in Canada - yikes, would have had the tax issue on my next purchase otherwise. I also set that one as default (not sure if the other was flagged default) in case a purchase fails due to no default address.
Well, let's take a look at that. Bear with me, and no disrespect is intended. This is the written word, and it's not my intention to be snarky. But let's use a "fact" that the Admins have stated over and over again and apply it. We want the global view of what is happening with the store, payment methods, and DIM.
1. To use a constantly stated "fact"- We the forum users are only a MINISCULE percent of Daz users. So the MAJORITY of users (according to the advertisements, TWO MILLION) who have failures are submitting tickets and simply getting a canned response to expect a six week wait before their problems are being addressed. (Perhaps if they fix something for one person, it fixes it for another. One can hope, and probably expect that to happen.) A six week wait verifies there are thousands of tickets. Since 2012 I have NEVER been told off the get-go that there would be a six week wait response from Customer Service. EVER.
2. So how can anyone say only some members are affected when they haven't even gone through the thousands of tickets from non-forum members? And thousands is not a guess, based on what the teeny, tiny percent of users (forum members) have said they have submitted. Which is hundreds of tickets.
3. And furthermore- Tickets are being marked as fixed without a solution, that has been posted over and over again by well respected forum members. If they're not fixing things and marking them as fixed (and forum members verified the issue was not corrected, there never was a change for their issue) which has been occurring (no statistics on how often) then I'd hesitate to say only some folks are affected, because those "some folks" have had their issues NOT addressed and marked as solved, so they falsely join the "majority" who didn't report the issue or don't have it. So then only "some" people appear to be left. The marking of tickets which aren't fixed has been stated repeatedly by more than one forum member. Again, we don't know how often that occurs, but even a few times skews the facts.
To me, that leads to a misleading conclusion that the issues for a lot of people (not just "some") have disappeared. Logically, given the above, that we're only a tiny portion of buyers, I know many more buyers are having issues and not posting about it. They don't belong to the tiny percent of buyers who use the forums. We know tickets are closed without the issue being addressed and that isn't just going to be for forum members. Statistically impossible given the facts of two million buyers/users of Daz Studio. We know a huge majority of tickets aren't looked at in any given moment as there's a six week wait to address the issues. So in my opinion the problems may or may not be for just "some."
I think Customer Service tries to do a good job. They're overwhelmed. When they mark a ticket as solved, it may be because it was fixed for someone else and they make the assumption it is an overall fix. Someone needs to talk to them and ascertain if that's what they're doing. I believe they have good intentions.
I do agree when it's not 100% happening to every single person, it's harder to address. I think saying the problems are not consistent among users would be a safer statement. If anyone disagrees with my logic, above, I respect that. My point is, we're only a "small percent" of buyers, and look at the problems our "tiny" community is having as a random sample of the HUGE overall buyer population.
I'm one of those customers who had two help requests closed by "Marketing Team Daz" without the problem being solved. In fact, I doubt whether they even read the problem reports. It appeared that they were closing requests based on keywords in the complaint. If your request mentioned "Product Library", boom, it was closed and marked solved, although nothing in that request was fixed. If your request mentioned "JSON error", boom, it was closed and marked solved, even if it was written a year ago and had nothing to do with the new store software and everything to do with an error in a product file.
24 hours and many download attempts later, neither of these files will download.
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.
I bought another product, the food shaders, and 6 of the 10 files will not download, even after trying multiple times. This is the weekend, but I hope somebody is working on this!

Update - checked DIM - lost my downloads. Reset my computer to the last stable configuration (November 11) where DIM properly displayed the files available for downloads, and they are back again. I do have a ticket in about the problems with installation (that breaks DIM big-time). In theory, in about 4 days, I should be able to progress to next step - the last security lock will drop related to Windows Home, I can do a complete purge of my hard drive. I don't expect it will solve all problems regarding the store switch, but it might make it easier to resolve. On the upside - Sales tickets have been resolved, so far. No new ticket unless credit card or paypal broke again, and won't know until I use them. Night all.
More problems. In desperation to get the products I paid for and want to use, I tried to do an offline Daz Connect installation, following the instructions here. It looks like Daz Connect offline installation is broken, too. The sea and sep files downloaded and Daz Studio acted like it was installing them, but all I got was an entry in the Products section of the Content Library, but NO PRODUCT FILES were installed. Now Daz Connect says I need to "update" the product. I don't want to go online to update this product. I did an offline installation and I want the files in that offline package to be installed! This used to work. Now it doesn't.
The log file says:
2020-11-29 00:48:20.542 WARNING: ..\..\..\..\..\src\sdksource\cloud\dzcloudtasknotifier.cpp(178): Unknown exception in runNextTask-runTask.
It seems like many downloads are broken. You can't download them manually either.
Sutton for Genesis 8 Female not downloading.
Lola Style Add-On for Primavera Hair hasnt downloaded - trying for 2 days so far - most downloads fail before 60mb of 400
I think it will be a good Idea to close this thread and create a new with the "currently known issues".
Also it would be nice if some "official" can say something about the problems and what they think, when they get fixed!
And overall: where are the announced great benefits of the new store - it will be great to get some details where they are and what is or was planned!
This is an ongoing problem for many of us, yet Tech Support can't offer any working solutions or work-arounds, apart from us manually downloading and installing new purchases (which is useless for some products like Mesh Grabber).
I've tried at a variety of times of day/night but still getting download failures for these files, but not others.
Manual Download:
Tried several times, starts sometimes, but breaks up after some seconds.
Others, like the Australia Botanica worked.
Update: now I get the message 'Failed - Server Problem'

I add myself to the list of folks who have had reports attempted to be closed without a satisfactory resolution, # 349838 and # 338580. Others went immediately into to your 'we will get to it when we will get to it' pile over 16 days ago without a human contact since then.
Daz Team, I have been in a complaint investigation job myself, for medical devices. I understand how things can go crazy and you get the brunt of customer's anger and frustrations. And when new software was installed, it made our jobs worse not better for a long time. (We also had to report to the FDA and foriegn governments on our product failures within specific time frames.)
I also know that if what is being reported, and trends analyzed, and if front end processes are not adjusted, the errors will just keep happening and snowball.
Missing or poor metadata is a major irritation for your customers. I find that older items that never had metadata in PC+, and now have it, is better than new products just released. Can whomever is doing the PC+ metadata train the others?
Missing files, like 'Actors' when a new character is released. How does that happen?
A new character or morph set that causes issues with existing characters.
Products meant for one sex, but compatibility set for the other or for none. Example G8M clothing set for G8F is the most common.
I am sure others can think of other common issues they have reported that you could look into to have your QA/QC department to beef up their checks for new products before release.
Mary
It's still impossible to download these new products with Daz Connect (0 kB part files) :
The Store update didn't improve the quality of the downloads
Well I tried something I may regret later. I opened DS, and on the Install tab was the Guritha Outfit so I tried install though Daz Connect. And watched it slowly process and finish. Looking at the files seems fine. But my log in DS says:
2020-11-29 06:55:45.189 "dForce Guritha Outfit for Genesis 8 Females": Install Failed.
Yet the outfit is installed!
I've been getting the following in my DS log for a while now - probably since the change over of the store, although I wan't really paying close attention to it:
It happens roughly every minute or so. I've had no problems downloading anything using Daz Connect so it doesn't seem to be affecting anything...
Yes, the downloads problems are escalated recently.
I could not download 6 parts out of 10 of Food Shaders - I am really hungry to get them installed;
Trying to download new purchases is an absolute disaster...really gives no incentive to purchase anything new since there is a VERY SLIM chance of getting those files to download so that you can use them. This NEW STORE is offering almost no visible benefits to me as a purchasing customer. There are still just as many errors in the sales offers as there were before.
I guarantee that if this type of mess happened at the company I work for someone would be held responsible for letting these kinds of "mistakes" to be allowed to happen. Once is a MISTAKE...learn from it so it doesn't happen again...letting it happen CONTINUOUSLY is a pattern of irresponsibility and is insulting to your customers.
I think, that store update was just a necessity. I also suffer from "Download Failed!" syndrome.
Hope it is not related to some outbreak...
I have downloaded all but one of the food shaders via dim.
