RRRR - One day in XXXs life Render Contest

This time we're taking RRRR forward and backwards at the same time, like Back to the future. So, listen carefully, because I say this only once.

Rules and how this game is played, or how to have fun with a little mockery.
This time, we are to render "A day in XXXs life", where XXXs came be one of many persons. So, here is a list of valid targets, or persons to render a day in their life of:
- Moderators and Administrators of the DAZ-Forum are valid.
- Anyone who here volunteer to be a target, which they should do when posting their pulls. This time it's important to post the pulls before you get to work. Some have already agreed to be targets, those are: Totte, Luci45, KenOBanion, barbult, Novica, MelanieL, Scott-Livingston , hawkonthewing, gopherus, KaribousBoutique & Zawarkal. Hopefully more will come.

The "old rules" still applies, see below.

Who can play?
Anyone can play!

How do you prepare yourself for play?
The rules are very simple, but first you need to have all your items in some kind of order in a text file, dumped from the itemized history into a text file or a spread sheet. Remove things like software, gift certs, and special plugins from the list.
Then you use a randomizer to randomly pick items from your list (your Runtime/My Library) for your start pull . You can use items from any store.

Randomizers on the web
Randomizer that works well:Random Org
Randomizer where you get all numbers in one draw: random

There are some situations where you allowed to redraw, these are:

- You picked something that doesn’t work, broken thing, only works in a version / software not used etc etc.

- You picked a software or add-on to a software or anything you should have filtered out from the list.

Bundles

If you pull a bundle, use two three complete items from it, or more if you like, but you do not need to use all, but only picking a hairpin from V4 Complete Bundle is “too little”. Clarification: A bundle still counts as only one pulled item.

How this round is played
You use a randomizer to randomly pick 4 items from your library/Runtime. Then, using those items you build a scene by adding more items and make your great piece of art. A list of all previous RRRR contests will follow, thanks to the great Mr. OBanion, use it to find funny things from someones render and use that, like an object, a figure or a certain style, to increase the likeness of the person you are mocking. The Mods and Admins are roaming the forums, aim carefully, some of the do bite back. Then, you wrote a little story describing who the person is and what he/she is doing on that particular day you just captured.

Remember though that you can only mock the same person once, and you can only mock people who volunteered to be mocked. Mods and Admins have volunteered even if they don't know it yet.

Contest duration!
It stats now, and will go on until Sunday Mars 16 at 23:59:59 DAZ time.

Limitations
Yes, there are limits, you can only enter seven times.

All renders and stories must be TOS compliant.

The sponsors for this contest so far are:
KenOBannion is sponsoring with $50 in DAZ GC.
Totte is sponsoring with a copy of FilterForge Professional edition, Mac or Windows.
Luci45 is sponsoring with $30 in DAZ GC.
Novica is sponsoring with $15 in DAZ GC.
Jaderail is sponsoring with $20 in DAZ GC.
ARTCollab has donated an item of choice from their store to each winner.

Now, start your renders!
Post your entries in the entry thread here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/37041/

So this is all on one thread (we were posting at the tail end of the previous month's thread) in case anyone wants to mock me, my avatar, etc, here's some helpful tidbits:

I live in Pensacola, about 25 minutes from the beach, and do go there fairly often.
Hobbies- landscaping- lots of flowering bushes, palm trees- everywhere.
My avatar Nova is deceased but it's perfectly fine to include him in renders, or the black Morgan (LONG mane and tail) that I currently have

I have a LOT of pets, known as Mrs. Doolittle because I have a lot of wildlife friends (feed a possum every night on the front porch, had hummingbirds perch on my finger, etc.) I have cats, two dogs, three little birds, two blue tongue skinks from Australia, one horse.

SeaNautica and Oceana are my characters- SeaNautica is easy to do, just use Ariadne and Oceana is Nova with Thalia Hair (if I recall, if that's not correct I'll let you know.) SeaNautica is (I think) Taylor Hair. I haven't rendered them in over a month so I'll have to check.

Quick question, Totte: is self-mockery permitted, or does it have to be a third party?

    Oo-o-oh, I'm skeert!

First off: Consider me fair game for mockery and satirization! (However, I should warn you, I am pretty much immune to mockery, seeing as I do such a great job of it on my own!)

    And..., my pull:
308 - Camera Magic: ToonCam Basic (Man, I sure hope this came with instructions!)
    1632 - DMR Totem Bundle
    2056 - Daiquiri Dress for V4
    2514 - Mark Hair

Also on the previous contest's winners thread is a post with a few "embarrassing details" about me, that you might be able to have a bit of fun with....

One more question, Totte, and then I swear I'll leave you alone! Do we have to inform our "target" that they are being targeted, or can it just come out of nowhere? (Either way, Tomalin is in deep yogurt...!)

    Sure. Anything to oblige...!

This is a copy of the entry I posted in the Winners thread for the previous RRRR (the "Story" RRRR), when we were throwing ideas back and forth:

"Well, since it appears to be 'fess-up' time, I guess I should tell you..., my 'avatar'..., isn't; it's really me. (And oh, what fun you guys are doubtless going to have with that!) And the ever-present Martini (well, it's not ever-present; I do wait till Happy Hour!) has become something of a running gag in these RRRR threads. And the 'handle' is my real name, less a bit of extraneous Irish punctuation. Yeah, I'm pretty much an open book around here.

I live in rural east Texas, so feel free to make hay with that little tid-bit; in fact, I live on a prairie just outside of Huntsville, which is a farming-and-ranching community, a college town (Sam Houston State University), and where the state's prison system is headquartered.

I collect books, ornamental black glass, quilts and Tarot decks. I also own a Faberge egg, a robot, a model of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner made of Legos, a Star Trek Tri-Dimensional chess set, and a binary wristwatch. I have four computers; three of them are Macs. I am the Uber-Nerd.

    Just don't call me Sheldon."

    Hope this helps.

Zawarkal, the main target is to mock someone based on renders. For example if I was to mock barbult, first things I think of is a cherry tree. Luci45, vibrant colors, some funny men in funny clothes and <<em>something I will use and not disclose, mwhahahaha, opps, Luci now know she's a target, lol> You, I would say high contrast images, very much hard light, rather artistic. So, you got the idea .

We interrupt this Forum thread for a wild-eyed, spittle-spraying rant....

    Okay, about that ToonCam....

Uh, I gotta give this thing a big 'thumbs-down', guys. Unless you actually want people to look at your images and think they're on hallucinogens -- or at least to think that you are...!

I honestly cannot think of a single situation, circumstance or scenario, in which you would want your images to come out looking like Leroy Niemann on bad dope, but obviously, somebody, somewhere, does, because this camera preset exists. Maybe if you do a lot of anime/manga, and you're insanely lazy, you might find a use for it. Either that, or you just have some kind of pathological need to blame a tool for why your renders consistently look like crap! (I, for one, don't need to blame a tool; I have me for that!)

I've done dozens of renders with this thing so far, using various combinations of the 'Toon' parameters ('Clamps' from 3.00 to 15.00, in increments of 0.50, and 'Clamp Blend' from 0.10 to 0.50, with increments of 0.05, and what, exactly, those terms mean, or what the parameters are and do, I ain't got a freakin' clue!), and both with and without UberEnvironment; this was necessary to learn what the camera does and how it does it, how it responds to various lighting scenarios and such, as it installed with absolutely zero documentation. At all. Period. I searched my own system for a Readme (in vain -- but I finally found one on the DAZ Documentation Center -- it had exactly two lines of "instruction", and no lines defining the terms used by those "instructions". In fact....

Camera Magic: ToonCam Basic allows you to quickly and easily render a DAZ Studio scene in a toon style. Choose the number of shading levels for each color and the amount of blending per level.

That's it, a direct quote, quite possibly in violation of the 'Fair Use' doctrine (because I copied every damn word!), the sum total of the documentation that exists for this product. Big tap-dancin' whoop! So, tell me..., exactly how does one 'choose the number of shading levels for each color', and do I have to do that for every one of the 16 BILLION-plus colors my system is capable of displaying? (Excuse me; and I may be gone for a while....)

I searched the DAZ Documentation Center for anything more than that; I Googled the whole of the of the World Wide Web -- or as much of it as Google can reach which, if you listen to the guys at www.itsallaconspiracy.com, is practically all of it. Total hits: Bupkis. (Actually, there were a couple, one of which was the Forum post in which I announced my pull; that's how thorough Google is! You think the guys at www.itsallaconspiracy.com might be onto something, after all...?)

Tell me again why I got this thing? Oh, right; it was free. Now I think I know why.

We now return you to our regular Forum posts, already in progress....

So it's RRRR time again - and this one will need quite a bit of thought. My first pull:
    1458 = Jamila
    894 = Enchanted Terrace
1060 = Easy Environments Eternal Sands
    1516 = Carnival Presets

And I'm game for mockery if anyone cares to try. Perhaps I should give a few morsels of info just in case ...

    - I live in the UK (Hampshire) with my husband
    - Not really one for pets - we have a fish pond though and feed a lot of wild birds
    - I used to be a voracious reader of books, until I discovered the wonderful world of 3D - now I don't often seem to have time to read, but I've not got out of the habit of buying books so the house is full of unread and semi-read ones

I love: gardens (preferably other people's as those are less work!), old houses (to visit not to live in), photographing gardens and old houses, Medieval and Renaissance art (especially Italian and Low Countries but pre-Michaelangelo/Rubens era), mountain scenery, walking in the countryside

I don't like: cold wet weather (OK so I live in the wrong place!), hot dry weather (OK so I'm rarely happy with the weather!), beach holidays (went on one once: never again - I was bored out of my mind after half a day, so thank goodness for books - though I discovered beach hotel shops don't provide much choice)

Life has gotten crazy, so I'm not sure I will be able to play, but I am more than willing to be mocked if anyone is inclined! Uh, lesee, info...I live in Colorado with my husband, and we are both slaves to several rabbits (rabbits have as much attitude as cats, or at least all of ours do). I knit, play video games (the long RPG things), and render. I am good on computers and often act like one at work to freak people out. I was an English major in college and books tend to stage epic battles with my other hobbies for my free time. I tend to be at least a partial hermit when left to my own devices. I've been crazy about art from a young age, my dad can draw like a photograph, and due to muscle issues, I was never able to anything even close to that. Until some nice programs came around, that is. YAY UNDO BUTTON! Uh...what else...I have a wicked sense of humor? If anyone wants more, I can try to come up with something, let me know.

    Wow, 'first blood'...!

For this first outing, I decided to play it safe, and opted to mess with one of Luci's 'avatars', Witch Balea. (I didn't do anything mean to her, Luci; in fact, quite the opposite. You'll be happy to know that she has a good job, and is actually doing rather well...!)

As I posted earlier, I ran dozens upon dozens of renders, and this one was the least-crappy-looking of the bunch. I also learned that, the
higher you set the 'Toon' parameters, the less effect the camera has; so, I wound those parameters up to numbers that only astrophysicists are truly comfortable with, and let her rip...!

I'm posting two versions of the image here, to give an idea of what I had to deal with; only the second will be used as the official entry. You will immediately notice Martin's change of clothes: as the image improved due to changing the camera's parameters, I noticed a couple of "artifacts" in the shirt; apparently, a few vertices in the mesh got loose and started 'doing their own thing' -- or, at least, decided not to fall into step with the others. So, I had to yank the outfit and replace it. (The outfit is Dark Thorn for M4, by the way; if you have it, this is something you might want to be wary of.)

    TAG: obanion#01
Title: The Honeymooners: A Blast from the Past

    Also used:
(From DMR Totem Bundle: Actually, pretty much all of it!)
    Alahna for V4
    Totem Cloth
    Totem Tales

    Veranil for M4
    Horse Tail Hair by AprilYSH
    Amaya Hair for V4
    Sofia (skin texture) for V4
    Mountain Rite

    Plus:
    Martin and Alexis are BACK!!
    (To recap the character composition...)
    Martin:
Nico for M4 and the Freak4

    Alexis:
    Sofia for V4
    Amaya Hair
Glasses Type002 by JamesJAB (a ShareCg freebie)

    The story:
Martin persuaded Alexis to spend a day of their honeymoon exploring some of the pagan ruins that dotted the mountains of Macho Bueno.

The elaborately-costumed guide who conducted their tour of the ruins was an exceedingly attractive woman (albeit not nearly as attractive to Martin as was Alexis -- I had to mention that, lest you think Martin was something of a cad; he most decidedly was not!) But something about her niggled at the back of Martin's mind, some vague sense of familiarity; and as a consequence, he was unable to take his eyes off her. He was sure he knew her from somewhere. Inevitably, both Alexis and their guide noticed this apparent fixation.

After over an hour of puzzlement and outright consternation on his part (and an escalating level of annoyance on Alexis'), their guide turned to Martin and smiled. "Yes," she said, "you do know me. You've just never seen me in this form." She lightly touched the medallion that formed the centerpiece of the chain that encircled her neck. "You haven't noticed the name-tag?" she asked mildly.

Belatedly, Martin studied it. The name engraved upon it was 'Balea'. And then everything fell into place. ** Face-palm! **

"You!" Martin exclaimed, stunned. "No way!"

"Way," Balea said. "One of the perks of being a witch is that I can pretty much change my appearance to whatever I want, whenever I want. And, with the job market the way it is these days, well.... Let's just say that in the tourist trade, 'smokin' hot' is a pretty marketable skill-set."

Martin cast a wry glance at his bride. "The logic is irrefutable," he remarked.
