This is one of the worst looking releases for a long time. Her morph is generic, the skin is horrible... there are other options that are far superior.
I guess I’ll wait for the next release...
So, what are the odds that the deal will get better in the subsequent days? I've been burned the past few releases, and today's deal almost seems on the level of Lee 8 when he was released.
It's almost as though someone at Daz marketing is deliberately trying to sabotage the business whilst still being able to claim that they are doing their job well.
Initially, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that a new figure had been released this week, as I thought that the Babies stuff would have taken the place of the second figure for this month. As I had no interest in the Baby products, I thought that this was a great move from Daz. Then I look at the figure that has been released and although it is very nice, I don't see anything there that I couldn't replace with mixtures of Teen Josie 8, Sakura 8, Karyssa 8, and Teen Kaylee 8. The Tika 8 Pro bundle is nice, but a bit generic - just like the figure itself.
Then I looked at the deals available for buying add-ons. The best value deal is of course for 4 add-ons, which is stated as:

To me, this didn't seem like a very good deal - the "privelege" of storing my money with Daz as a Gift Card has not interested me at all since they started doing this as part of the pro bundle deals, and only $20 off the selected categories. Then I took a closer look, and tried different combinations of products in the basket:
What is not stated in the advertising blurb is that the offer is $20 off in EVERY category. So actually, $100 of free products in total. Why isn't this mentioned? It completely changes the value of the deal, and surely would attract more people to buy the pro bundle and add-ons. It's almost as though someone sets up a pretty attractive deal, but doesn't want to tell the customers about it.
As for Tika 8, we've had some fantastic and unique figures from Daz in the Genesis 8 series - Alexandra, Edward, Ollie, Edie, Floyd, Mabel, Zelara, Nix, Christian, Sydney, Mrs Chow and Mr Woo instantly spring to mind. Yet Daz seems intent on interspersing these new and unique characters with more of the same old, same old. At the start of the Genesis 8 series, Tika would have been a must-buy, but now it is too similar to the earlier teen/toon/anime girls.
I don't think that I'll be buying Tika 8, despite the work that has obviously been done by the PA's who have contributed to the figure, the bundle and the add-ons. I do like the look of some of the add-on figures, which I am sure could be mixed with any of the other teen/anime figures that I already have.

Not every character is for every person. This bundle is not what I need but there is an outfit or two I like that I may pick up.
The additional offers and sale conditions on this one does seem to be much less of a “ deal” than previous bundles. Even with a “purple banner” the pro bundle here is more expensive than the Mr Woo offering which was a much much better offering in both quality and diversity.
$20 from each category? Oh man... I should have read it better. I wonder if they can still give it to me :D

No amount of reading the marketing blurb would have told you this - it's annoying that a more detailed descriptions isn't given. I only found out by playing around with adding things to the cart and could only do that because I'm not at work today and have plenty of time. By most accounts though, Daz customer services are pretty good about things like this, so might be worth contacting them.
I figured it out right away. Only a little difficult to keep it under $20 so I just got one from each category.
The more I look at her, the more I like her. Personally, I can’t get enough cuteness and that draws me in. I passed on Sydney, Chow and a couple of others I can’t remember. Having $20 off in each category makes the deal better but is so not obvious in the marketing! Unfortunately I already own so many Daz Originals that some categories have little of what I want or need. Why couldn’t it just be $100 off all Daz Originals? So much less confusing.
The name makes me hungry... now I could go for some good chicken tikka masala, or makhan murg...

That Versa cap & ponytail is just what I needed, excellent timing, and I'm glad it's set up to allow customization of the badge.
I have a question about the Diva Remix - Toons for Tika 8. Are the head and bodies morphs seperate? Maybe @divamakeup can weigh in although I'm getting it anyway
Correct - Frostline is in the bundle. The actual store page is all correct, so won't affect your purchase. Jyune is an add-on.
Her eyes look dead to me. But she looks like another Thorne character. No character specific theme to her bundle or content...but at least you get more stuff when you buy her unlike the babies which came with nothing free.

Seriousky though, what sets her apart from Mika? Why would anyone with Mika want to get what’s essentially a bootleg?

No, the way they are set up is 8 full head to toe shape presets (well 10, if you count the two bonus shape presets) with a "reset to Tika 8 shape" preset.
The sale is not working if you are supposed to get $20 from each category. When I put in two Mousso girls, it totals $26.54 which should charge me $6.54 or $3.27 for each but it is coming out to $5.77 each which is not $20 off.
Can anyone post how the Diva Remix looks without Tika? Will it work on, say, Karyssa 8 or do you have buy Tika?

The sale is not working. Once you put the Daz Originals in your cart, they lose their PC + pricing...

That one always puzzled me. My interpretation of what they are saying was that if you put more than the allowance of free stuff in the cart you wouldn't get any discount, it would all be at full price. What they are actually doing is if you put more than the allowance of free stuff in the cart the total discount is limited to the specified maximum. When I was working that's the sort of thing that would come up in one of those boring meetings where I kept asking, what does that part of the specification actually mean?
I actually do like the bundle but THE SALE IS NOT WORKING! Nothing has the extra 30% off, “free” shader is not free, “free”items lose PC discount in cart. Nothing is working...
The skin materials presets all use Tika 8's mats (except for the Bonus Materials Preset which uses the base Genesis 8 Female mats). The fingernail and toenail colors are set up to be usable with any G8 or G3 character. The shape presets are all based on the Tika 8 shape and use her shape at 100%, so the shape presets are going to look HUGELY different without Tika 8. However, I just checked and it looks like Karyssa 8 might make an ok substitute if you dial her in at around 75%.
Here's the "Anime A" shape without Tika but with Karyssa 8 dialled in at 75% (and Karyssa's elf ears dialled out). She's using the Bonus Skin settings included with Toon Tika which uses the base Genesis 8 Female mats but "toonfied":
She doesn't look exactly like she's intended, of course, but she's still pretty cute, imo. You'll still need the Genesis 8 Female head and body morphs.
I'll see about doing a couple other renders with some of the other shape presets and Karyssa 8.
