Complaint: I hate when a big company (like Apple or Microsoft) has a “Help” link that takes you to a useless, outdated set of instructions... or worse yet omits a key step in the instructions.

Understandable with a smaller group,  but you'd think that a large company could manage to keep its help files up to date and whatnot :V

(Then again you could also make an argument that stuff slips through the gaps when there's enough stuff to sift through, but even still.... xD)

I ordered some prints and they are in the mailbox.  Wonder if I can check the mail or if I am not allowed to do so for some reason.

Complaint:  Threw my back out again last night.crying

If you put it out with the recycling, you might still be able to retrieve it from the recycling center’s sorting facility.

Congrats on that mineral purchase... I used to collect fossils... I stopped a while before the internet became useful to shop on... but the real fun was actually finding them at weird little shops, museums and purchasing them from the one eyed man under the bridge...But on a more mineral related note, I recently watched a video on how to grow your own bismuth crystals from Pepto Bismol tablets.... I was very interested in the possibility of using chemistry and mad science to refine the bismuth crystals from antacid tablets, but around the 77,856 th step, it became evident that it would not be a fun nor even remotely interesting process... not only that, but the guy making the video kept showing his failures, which only made the video longer... it was like a fifty minute long video and in the end he had probably spent $200 or more on supplies and damaged equipment to produce two tiny unimpressive crystal lumps which could easily be acquired for around $40-$50 (they’d be larger too).

    Smh... YouTube.

If you see any of them around, ask them if they’ve seen Fat Vinny Four Toes... he was a raccoon friend of mine who had some gambling debts he couldn’t repay... He skipped out on them and headed for the west coast...

Yes, I saw that Pepto Bismol to Bismuth crystals clip too.  Interesting, but very discouraging.indecision    I have a beautiful little crystal of bismuth about an inch in all dimensions, spinach green, & violet and other colors I can't name.  I wimped out and acutally bought mine on-line.  Crazy cool crystals bismuth makes. yes  However, I also have about a quarter pound of cast bismuth that I've been thinking about attempting to melt and let crystalize.enlightened

Some people call me a fossil.  Do you think anyone would collect me?indecision

As for my trashed back..., As I lay on my bed I grabbed onto the headboard, hooked my feet over the end of mattress and pulled my spine back into alignment before it did any damage.  I'm getting good at this getting-straight business.  Something new for me. frown

Non-complaint: I just finished my on-line auction and picked up three nice small colored rocks.  And I didn't bust my budget.yes

A 1cm, 4ct blue iolite.  (never heard of it before but it has such a pretty blue color!)heart

A nice 2cm, 3gm bi-terminated quartz crystal.  I have a couple quartz animal carvings and a quartz crystal cluster but this is a nice single crystal terminated on both ends. Cool!cool

    A small  1cm, 2.8ct raw diamond (ugly but that's what I wanted)cheeky

I've run out of space to collect things.  I started out collecting oriental rugs until I ran out of floor then moved to a smaller place.  Twice!   Then I started collecting bronze statuettes, I've had some really nice ones but all the big ones have been sold to keep from starving.  Then I downsized to collecting carved semi-precious stone animals.  Somewhere in there I picked up some small samples of minerals (silicon chunk, bismuth crystal, sulfur crystal, iron meteorite, peacock ore (ooh, sparkly blue!), chromium chunk, galena chunk, obsidian chunk.  But now I've run out of shelf space and the only space I have left is a little glass box in which to display my little collection of tiny rocks.  I'm out of collecting space.  I'll either have to acquire more money for a bigger house or start collecting nanites.frown  Even my DAZ purchases are running out of storage space. surprise  (Yeah, I know, bits & bytes are tiny but you have to buy them by the millions.indecision)

I was given a full size snickers bar for my birthday.  Tonight I went into the kitchen to eat my snickers bar to find out someone took it from me and also left me an empty container of oreos.  I think I know who it was, but if I was right then she should have asked before taking my oreos or snickers bar.  I might have said yes but I would also have the opportunity to say no.  I am upset about my missing food.

Another thing about a different subject.  I ordered a bunch of prints from an app called freeprints via my iPad.  They finally came in but something seemed odd when I was going through the pictures.  Some pictures got multiple copies while others just got two copies.  I wanted duplicates but not about 4 to 8 copies of the same picture.  I think one picture got 8 copies or something like that.  Or was it 6.  I know it was more than 4, and an even number so 6 or 8 of the same picture.

Buy another Snickers bar, carefully dig a hole in it, find a dead cockroach (or two*), stuff it in the hole and cover it back up, carefully rewrap the candy, wait for a scream. devil

*Depending on size. One Florida cockroach (palmetto bug) would require a king size Snickers bar. surprise

No. The real fun in aquiring minerals is not in finding them in shops. It is going out in the field and collecting them. Sadly two factors have made this much more limiting. 1) The good mineral collecting sites are becoming too restricted and too commercial; 2) I am getting too old to be able to do a lot of collecting in the field.

Yeah, finding one's own mineral prize by digging it out of the ground would be adrenalin pumping but it's not something I would have, am, or am likely to do.indecision  Especially now that the ground is sooo far away.  And so hard to get off of after I get down there.  But one shouldn't dismiss the thrill of wandering the streets of a big city or little desert town and finding that little shop that has fantastic displays of oriental rock carvings, or dirty racks of dusty rocks with a possible prize hidden there.  All you need is plenty of ammunition.  One can also make a mini-adventure out of learning about a rock & gem show set up in some nearby city and turn it into a hunting expedition.  And then there's also the instant gratification thrill of browsing an on-line store or on-line auction catalog and having multiple close up photos of your quary and the opportunity for some long distance hunting!yes  Could it possibly be that it's the adrenalin spurt we're after, and the rock is just a side effect?smiley

Gah... I’m in a foul mood... I hate when you schedule a medical appointment and there is an unreasonably long wait... today my daughters had an optometrist appointment... we specifically wanted a certain doctor and made the appointment a month ago, so it shouldn’t have been any problem to see the guy. We get there, wait about a half an hour, do the basic exam the assistant gives (eye chart, basic focus, and glaucoma)... they give the girls those drops to dilate the eyes and we go out to the waiting room, me figuring it will be fifteen to twenty minutes to see the doctor (unless I’m mistaken the drops lose effectiveness after twenty-thirty minutes)... then after about ten minutes the assistant comes out to get us and she tells me we’ll be seeing another doctor because the wait for the doctor we specifically made an appointment for is over two hours...

Since my wife can’t stand the doctor we would now be seeing and specifically asked for the other doctor and I didn’t have more than two hours to wait around, I asked if we could reschedule... (which was actually offered as an option)... since nothing was available for the next few weeks, I decided to leave the rescheduling for my wife, since she knows what things are scheduled when and I always mess up if I make an appointment on my own, especially for the kids.

So now she is trying to reschedule an appointment and the idiots at the office are saying we walked out of the exam... and the doctor who we were scheduled to see, doesn’t take kids... which is total BS because they are teens now...

There were so many other things wrong with the visit today, that’s not even the half of it, but I don’t get how anyone thinks it’s okay to give someone an appointment and then make you wait two or three hours... or try and switch who you are supposed to see.

Whenever I make an appointment with most medical offices, I get a call the day before telling me to confirm my visit, because if I can’t make it or I come too late, they’ll cancel my appointment and I’ll be charged $50...

So maybe if the medical offices change doctors on me or the wait is too long, they should owe the patient $50? Seems fair...

Didn't see them.  But, perhaps it doesn't matter.  I don't think they look that good.  Why can't anyone make a baby that looks like a baby.  These are...scary.  But that's been the complaint I've seen about every single baby fiugre made by a lot of people.  I think it's because they don't have the same love for babies that they have for sexy women.  There has to be some reason for it.  A lot of the expressions and poses for this baby seem more adult.
