    remember DOS?

when i wanted to rename a bunch of file name extentions i would go to dos prompt

    like

    rename *.zip *.rar

what the modern way in win explorer?

I think that's disabled by default in the Control Panel in modern Windows,  but if you enable "Show Known File Extensions"  it'll display  .jpg,  .zip,  .whateverelse  and you can change it like that.

Still can't rename all in a batch like that, though.  I think there may be utilities to do that, but that means buying something.

    Dana

Edit: Actually, you can still do this in the DOS prompt.  Just tried it.

Bought a plush toy.  $22 but shipping and handling overseas brought it to forty something.  It's a pre-order so it won't be ready for another few months, but there was only three left so ><

I HAD to have that plush. It's the plush of a dragon I really love called  Xeno'Jiiva

This is Xeno'Jiiva!  I love him so much and he's adorable

You can get jpg files downloaded in Edge!  I don't know what will happen when they put the release out for the new version of Edge that will be based on the Chrome engine.  Not sure I'm looking forward to that.

...yes, yes I do.  That was what we used when I was doing multimedia development in the late 80s to the mid 90s.   They installed  Windows 3.0 on my 286 workstation and I asked them if they really expected me to get any work done.  I would start the computer, and then take orders for coffee & such at the deli in our business park. By the time I got back, my system was almost up and ready to go.  They finally removed it and let me go back to DOS.

    Bad case of “CGI Brain”...

Earlier I was sculpting some creatures on my iPad, and as usual I had “Symmetry” enabled... a little while ago I went into the bathroom to put in my contact lenses and noticed a small scratch on my left cheek, but since the lighting on that side was not great I tried to check out the scratch on my right cheek still expecting “Symmetry” to be turned on in the real world.

    Duh...

dunno anyone in real life has the symmetry.  is one of the things make cgi people so unreal looking.

I've had that problem a few times xD

I've also had the problem of sculpting and then disabling symmetry somewhere along the line without realizing it and then all the sculpting is forever misaligned and I can't fix it (Tried asking about this and a few other things on a forum, I got one answered, another "sorta" answered, and the other two ignored.  'tis why I wish I had a person IRL to help me with my many questions that are probably so damn simple but still hold me up.  If it was any wonder why I gave up on 3D  -  Vue, C4D, Zbrush, whatever. I just draw nowadays. I'll barely make any progress there sure, but at least I know the hell I'm doing wrong when stuff goes wrong.

A spairo ploosh would be cute yes.  Funnily enough there's a Spyro prop in the Xbox Avatars store haha. I thought about getting it but I rarely look at my avatar anyway so I didn't see the point.  I kinda miss my Guilty Spark prop but none of the 360 props are present in the 'new and improved' version le sigh.  Which also means no Promethean Crawler pet.

I liked the Crawlers, they were kinda cute in a weird sort of way. Though the Sniper ones can just get out - they climb up a wall and then perch there clinging to it and shoot you with a weapon that's often an instant-kill if it hits you (And always is, on higher difficulties. Plus the horrifying accuracy they have...) The lil guys usually just swarm you and pelt you with small-arms fire (installed in their mouth or something I guess?) and sometimes tackling you, but the Snipers ugh xD  There's a good reason the Sniper class Crawlers didn't make it into the fifth game.

    It roar!

I would invite you over but I live too far from you.  Also we are in a middle of a tornado warning.  Also I am probably not going to be home for Easter.

I think it is a warning not a watch.  What is the difference?

In a watch, you are watching to see if the threat gets worse.  In a warning, there is definitely a threat and it's coming your way!  That's the abridged version.

    ..ack!  Take cover

One more thing I don't miss since I left in the Midwest along with snow, ice, subzero (F) cold, mosquitoes, and experiencing four seasons in one day.

Some of those severe winds look pretty bad... Did your (I’m not sure what to call the nincompoops in charge of the place you live)...(I think I’ll just call them “nincompoops”)... did the nincompoops ever go over tornado safety instructions?... I’m gonna hazard a guess based on the majority of the things you’ve said about the place and that guess is gonna be “no”...   in case you haven’t already looked it up or are not familiar with it, here is a sufficient bit of information to avoid ending up like Dorothy and Toto... https://www.ready.gov/tornadoes it’s a government website, but it’s actually got useful information.

If you were thinking of going to the zoo in Asheboro for that “Good Friday with the Gorillas”, apparently the zoo is closed due to the weather... I wonder if the Giant Prehistoric Reptile Park in Chatham will be closing early too... those InGen facilities have the worst luck with power outages and severe weather (and volcanos too).

Well, stay alert and stay safe.

How bad does the weather have to get before you have to get under the bridge? indecision
