Actually just Luke but I don't see any difference with Laura clothes. Have Luke-PT version but no clothes to test it (I guess it is some generation 2 hybrid figure?). Not a morph, because I messed up eyes and this is my first attempt anyway, so shape isn't 100% spot on, but it works surprisingly well for clone and only gloves can't be autofitted because I left Genesis' hands in default pose, only scaled them down a bit.
Hello,
thank You for the tutorials they work great, but I have a
quick question:
I followed ben98120000 !quick method" to transfer morphs,
I use DS4.6 and I do not get the option
"Activate Content Type: Actor"
in the Transfer utility settings...
I only get "Activate Content Type: none" and it's the only selection I can get
Apart from this everything works fine, but I was just wondering if this is because I use DS4.6 (and not DS4.5)
and what is consequence of this difference:
I mean I use the morphs and they work great
I use 4.6 and it works fine for me. Did you activate it? As in, put a checker in little box in front of Content Type to make it active and than select Actor.
As far as I have noticed, difference is that G2F to which you transfered morphs to, wont have auto-fit option if you try to put some clothing on it (before you save it as figure/prop).
Yes, I did activate it and try to pulldown the menu, but the only option that is shown and that stays selected is "none".
I could not really understand what is the problem...
However, I am using your method to create a folder with all the Gn1 morphs, then I selectively bring some set of morphs to Gn2 (e.g. V5, Custom Heads from V4, etc): I made an Excel macro to batch edit some fields in the morph files that I want to use (e.g. edit the morph file location, the entry of the morph list in which this morph shall appear, I remove my name and email from the file, etc).
Once the morphs are loaded by the original Gn2 there's no Autofit issue.
Yeah, I dont know, as soon as I populate source and target scene items, I get option to activate content type with bunch of type selections. Is your CMS running? Perhaps that can influence content types.
edit:
Does it work in other situations? Like for clothing items?

Kattey, you should consider submitting these to DAZ for sale. They will accept clone products for Genesis. :) I know you have provided a very thorough tutorial here, but a lot of people would be happy to be able to just pay a modest fee and use the clones.

Those clones so far aren't store quality, they are very barely freebie quality at all. I'm trying to see if I can do them any better before even asking DAZ3D about redistribution. No sense of talking about half-baked product.

I don't know what's gotten into everyone to start filling the rest of the clone gaps, but this is all fantastic to be seeing it now! :D
Too bad this energy wasn't around back when Gen 5 was still running. But then again, that's probably why. Now that Gn2 has created so much uncertainty, everyone's getting inspired to do the reasonable thing. :)
the transfer process works really well. However, I'm only able to transfer certain morphs, not all of them..
Say i have several face morphs all created the same way with GenX. A Few of them will transfer just fine, the others I'm missing completely.
Does anybody know what might be causing this? Or better, is there a way to transfer just one specific morph?
Sorry if this has already been answered and thanks for the help.
Cheers :)
Hello :)
Which method you use to transfer the morphs? Ben's method (faster one) or my (slower one)?
sioc, sorry, I completely don't have time/opportunity to go and make that many screenshots -_- If there is a particular area you stuck with, I can try to help.
I try to understand all the process, because it's a little confusing.
Also, I already bought some G2F morphs, And I search a way to create a 'bis' character to transfer Gn morph to that 'bis' so I won't break my official one :)
Any idea how to do so ? I'm sure it's simple, but I don't remember how to.
If morphs have same names (and some of Evolution morphs and G2F core morphs do have same names) they'd be seen as one within DS and the version you'd dial will be the version DS 'sees' first (what the principle of it I'm not sure).
To prevent it you need to rename the labels and inner names (and I'd also rename the file), to make them distinct. I usually end up adding something at the end, like _G for Genesis morphs in G2F or _F for G2F morphs in Genesis.
Because there is a lots of morphs, it might get very tiring. It took me an hour or two to rename morphs this way, but I had to do this only once. There are also some batch editing utilities in internet, they might be useful in this situation.
To make a copy of your G2F so you won't mess with main G2F for transfer, you should load G2F and rename it in DS, and Save As -> Save as Asset -> Figure or prop asset, just name it differently. It will create a separate folder (using the name you'd input on 'Author' and 'Product' prompts, I think), with separate morphs in it that will call a separate geometry from your regular G2F.
they are inside that folder. For example the "Biscuit Lips" converted with GenX. All 10 of them appear on Genesis1, are inside the same Folder but only 2 of them get transferred.
I haven't looked through all of them but it looks like it's mainly v4-genX morphs I'm missing..
I dont know, just guessing here. When you select Genesis1, where the morps appear? In shaping tab or parameters tab or both? See if you can find some difference between those that do get transfered and those that dont, by clicking at that little cog icon on the morphs and than parameter settings. Like, ones that do get transfered have some fields filed and the ones that dont get transfered dont have that fields filed.
Kattey, this is really awesome, but I'm a bit lost in the many posts.
If I want to transfer SOME of my Genesis morphs to G2F, where do I start? Post 1? Post 7?
Thank you in advance, can't wait to get it going?
Indi.
Hi, Indi.
It depends if they are gender specific or more neutral and also if they change the shape/height of Genesis. For neutral and morphs that aren't drastically changing shape you can probably start and end at post 1.
For everything else you'd need to unlock Genesis clone in G2F first, which is post 7 which would also teach how to make ERC freezes, if I'm not mistaken. ERC freeze would be handy if morph (such as Freak 5, for example, or Reptilian) has significant differences in height or shape.
And then go to post 8, to transfer the morphs themselves.

Ok, super, I see the difference in the tutorials now.
However... the CloneGenesis.dsf file you refer to IS in the folder you identify, but it is only 1/3 mb, and it does not seem to be editable with a text editor. Any ideas?

It is compressed. You can save a editable copy by Save As -> Save As Asset -> Morph Asset and selecting it from Hidden/Clones - don't forget to uncheck "Compress morph".
It will save the copy to into folders that you'd input on 'Author/Product/ line in saving prompt. Just replace compressed version with decompressed.
Or you can use Ben's method but he is better asked about specifics of it :)
When you transferred the morphs to G2F Base LR.obj, did Nerida morph already have an eye deformity or it happened when you used Morph Loader Pro to transfer it to real G2F?

Kattey, I do not know what you look like, but to me you're absolutely GORGEOUS! Thank you so very much for this outstanding tut!
:D Thank you, this is a very heartwarming response! Very nice to know you found them useful :)
Just as a slight offtopic: here is something I did over last couple of days. I wonder if people recognize what it is ^_^"

Yup :)

Here is another G2Female/Genesis/V4 morph blend with a few others as well.
Young teen target age between 13-14 years

Morphs that dont get transfered, are they inside data / DAZ 3D / Genesis / Base / Morphs folder ?
There was some talk about single morphs:

Good point, - also you can see if transferred/non-transferred morphs appear in Shaping, Parameters (under Actor) or in both.

Yeah I finally succeed !
But now I got a new trouble...
When I dial a face morph, the eyes are no longer good (they were ok on genesis).
If someone got an idea or know how to fix that problem
Here's the horror :
sioc, which transfer do you do (Genesis morphs to G2F, G2F to Genesis, anything else), which morph, and which method?
It is a Genesis morphs to G2F.
I used your howto to transfert all morph.
The morph I have trouble with is a GenX single morph transfert for the head morph of TWPD Nerida.
I transferted all morph to a G2F Base LR.obj, dialed TWPD Nerida morph, export as obj, then used Morph Loader pro to add the morph to G2F.
I did all export in low res and 0 Subdivision.
When you transferred the morphs to G2F Base LR.obj, did Nerida morph already have an eye deformity or it happened when you used Morph Loader Pro to transfer it to real G2F?
Is this that character?
