RAMWolff, I was meaning that you could color panels way earlier than G2F started to color them, it isn't a new feature.
So it means that your freebie Genesis pack won't get multicolored treatment?
What is "RAWN’s fabulous pose pack" and how do I get it? Is it in the store?
@ Kattey, yes hon, the panel will be color coded when I release the pack eventually. I knew about the color coding but never delved into use it, now I'm glad I did.

Thanks for the link.
Ok, I finally sat down to do this. I've run into a snag, though. When I get to step 4c, I don't see Source Morphs or Projection Template Morphs anywhere in the Transfer Utility interface. I've attached a screengrab of my settings (I didn't use the same name you did for the .obj, but I wouldn't think that would matter.)
You need to click on the line that says Morph Targets to select it. Then the Source Morphs or Projection Template Morphs will show up.
yes, that was the step I missed first time too!
Finally got around to creating the G1 shape for G2F and the G2F clone for G1. Thanks for these tutorials. As noted earlier, there is distortion the more drastic the shape (even dialing in V4 on G1 distorts the G2F top horribly), but at least it works well on characters such as the teens.
I used the transfer utility, worked like a charm for the most part, but certain morphs do not seem to translate well, most notably rawarts creature morphs, there is noticeable warping in the head when you try to turn or bend. (from the bones in the jaw I suspect?) plus the eyes go wonky when you use dials to move them, they need to be corrected manually. Luckily, I never saved that. I'll wait to see if there's either a gen-x fix, or a Rawart update, otherwise, I'll use G1 for any creature type characters.
Thanks, it's transferring now. Hopefully I'll be able to do a test render soon. I've never used the transfer utility before, so I never thought to click on the name on the left to get more options show on the right. Lack of sleep didn't help, either. I feel a lot better this morning.
Kattey,
Thanks very much for posting the steps for getting G1 morphs into the G2 figure. I don't know how you managed to work all that out, but I am really grateful for it. I have saved the scene with the G2 .obj file loaded with morphs, so that I can load this and transfer morphs over to G2 as and when I need them. It really adds to the versatility of G2 at this early stage.
Ok, I managed to transfer...something. I transferred the Stocky morph, and it is showing up in my Genesis 2 Female morphs. But all it does is move the figure along the X axis. Oh well, I'll play around some more. I'll get it right eventually.
Do you have Evolution morphs installed and does it have a same named morph? I found out that sometimes if two morphs have the same name only one of them is actually active on the figure (seems to be the one native to it). In this case just before the transfer open morph with small gear and add any symbol to it, like say, FBMStocky_G and Stocky_G
background, you are very welcome, I'm glad it worked for you :)
does this work for poser too,or is there a way to do that tranfer textures from v4 to v6
This method heavily relies on DS capabilities and I don't know what principles Genesis uses to work in Poser. Theoretically, if you can somehow make Genesis low-res mesh to confirm to G2F rigging and shape and be able to transfer morphs to Genesis mesh in Poser from G2F, the algorithm itself would work. But last Poser I had is version 7 and it wasn't possible in there, and I don't know about newer Poser versions.
It's possible that when you did the ERC freeze the 'Property' box in the 'Control Property Selection' was still on the default rather than the 'FBMStocky' morph. I find I have to go through the list and pick the appropriate morph name if I'm updating the bones for a current morph.

I have them. It occured to me while I was outside that I had read somewhere that the Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials had been updated a day or so after their release, so I'm downloading and reinstalling.
I tried the other method that was posted, with mixed results; the morphs didn't show up in the Genesis 2 shaping tab, but when I selected Genesis, the morphs affected Genesis 2. Weird.

I don't think I did; I don't even know what ERC freeze is. I appreciate all the help everyone is giving, though. I'll get it sooner or later.

Check if G2F is fit to Genesis (like conforming clothes would)
This is a really great post. Thanks for sharing it :)
I have followed the instructions in post #7 and get strange behavior from DS 4.6.0.18 64 bit when attempting to open the new .dsf.
The screen flashes a couple of message boxes too quickly to read and nothing loads, the log file has the following entry:
WARNING: fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(4359): Could not find modifier definition.
WARNING: fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(1301): Failed to prepare modifier!
WARNING: fileinput\dzassetdaz.cpp(1310): Failed to create modifier!

It was. It didn't help, though. When I use your method, the morphs only move the figure along the x axis; when I use Ben's method, it appears to transfer the morphs, but they never appear. I've gone over the instructions repeatedly to make sure I'm not missing anything. I'm going to sleep on it and see if I have better luck tomorrow.
Here is my shot at using the Transfer Utility Tool to transfer genesis and V4 morphs. She is blended with a bit of Genesis, G2F, and V4 morphs. I as of yet had good luck with transferring TY5 with out the issues with eyes and fingers. I may take the time and go though the steps in correcting it as outlined here, but just a little lazy at the moment. Then I just may wait till GenX is updated which will simplify things.
Beside that, this one turned out quite well (minus any YT5) and not have funky fingers or goofy eyes.
Oh, she stands at a whopping 5'-3" if anyone is wondering!
Enjoy!
broncomech, did you name the morph OriginalGenesis morph?
Did you add all commas on the end of the replacement strings?
How did you save your G2F, by "Save Modified Assets" or "Save morph"?
timnaas, glad to see it :)
riftwitch, it is very strange indeed. Which DS build are you using?
Instructions in post #7 step 1 to 3 completed all comas are in place.
No, tutorial in post 1 is a standalone tutorial. Post 7 where OriginalGenesis morph is created doesn't need to rely on it.
Okay, maybe I am stupid but, WHERE do I get the Genesis 2 figure in the first place?!
I downloaded and installed the latest build yesterday. I wonder if it's just me; the text in Studio is really tiny to my eyes.

Text in DS like where? I'm not noticing anything unusual in my build.
