Mika 8 80%, Monique 8 60%
Mika's skin settings tweaked with Altern8 as well as a few manual adjustments to give her a darker skinned look.
Just curious do you know how many Gen 8 Pro Bundles you need to qualify for the extra 20% off. I have 3 I think and no sign of the offer under my account
I got the offer, and I have 4 pro 8 bundles, so maybe you needed 4 or more.
Not sure I will be taking advantage of it though, as I also have many similar looking figures, and apart from P3D's morphs, there is a not much in the pro pack or add-ons that appeal that much to me.
.
She's pretty, Divamakeup. I've got the Monique 8 Pro Bundle in my wishlist. I'm waiting for a good sale.
I also had four Genesis 8 Pro Bundles and got the offer for the extra 20 percent off. HTH.
Not Mika 8.
Duplicate post.
I only have three G8 Pro bundles and two of them are male and yet I got the offer or some reason. Of course I got the same offer for Edie too. So, I'm not really sure what the criteria are.
Mika 8 55% + bunch of dials
Ya I totally missed that sorry! I totally agree, as much as I love the wierd and the crazy, sometimes, you just want normal
Here's Amara for Mika 8. Posted her in my Art Studio thread here if you want to see the other products and slight tweaks to lip color and bump.
@nohiznguyen Very nice! Really like the posing and lighting.
One nice thing about makeup as a diffuse overlay is you can geneally turn it down (probably not the super giant black one but you'd be surprised). Below is a demo with monique makeup full strength and makeup toned down a hair
.... also you can totally take the makeup from one character and stick it on another... the material presets aren't set up nicely to do this properly, sadly, but you can load them manually and its great.
+1 Some people don't like Diffuse Overlays because they can't be seen it unless they use the Iray preview. But I think that it's uses and flexibility far outweigh that downside. I love that all the "Official 8" females that have diffuse makeup (is it all of them? I think it's all of them that I have at least) can be worn on any other character - even Genesis 3 characters. And that you can adjust the intensity of the makeup and very often even the color. Very cool!
.
@jcade how do you load them manually?
Posts are meaningless really, only Sales matter. There is always a vocal minority; this minority might on occasions be the majority, and sales will be a reflection of the posts, which I can only remember happening once when 4.9 was released.
... After all folks complain, but buy stuff anyway; or sing its praises but don't buy, or return after buying.
... Sales are all Daz can go off. Annoying at times, but true nonetheless.
The majority of characters vary only in their morphs and textures... Surprising really!
Well, that makeup tweak makes quite a difference! (The Monique on the right obviously had a mirror and enough light by her dressing table)
With all the talk about male character shapes I'm wondering if Male-M3dia would be up for making some of the fan favs and selling them. He really knows his anatomy and is a brilliant sculptor! If they sold well DAZ might buy the lot from him and make them DAZ Originals and they would have, perhaps, in house support. Just a thought!
Overheard fragment of a conversation, "... well, you know what it's like, it's soooo difficult telling humans apart! I thought I was talking to Charlotte but it was actually Stephanie! Total confusion! ..."
First, if you have Aiko 8, Monique 8, or Edie 8 - you can use any of their makeup "out of the box" on any G3 or G8 character.
Most of the other G8F characters load the face maps with the makeup - but again, their makeup can be manually added to a character.
To manually change the makeup you'd have to go into the Surfaces tab and change the makeup maps manually (navigate to the character folder who's makeup you want to use and load them in the surfaces tab - replacing the other makeup maps with the ones you want to use).
True, but the difference between Mika 8 and Teen Josie 7 are so minor, the look almost the same.
Its not a fairy hate parade. I bought Karyssa. Its that we ALREADY HAVE A RESIDENT FAIRY for Genesis 8. We now have 2 WHITE young fairies. We still have ZERO real Asian characters. Daz just had to push out yet another fairy before releasing Mei Lin or any other character of diversity. Yeah, so they released Darius and Monique, that doesn't give them brownie points to ignore releasing another minority for months on end.
And Mika may not be identical to Karyssa, but she's close enough, and that's not even the point, read the above again. Remember that Genesis seems to run on 2 year cycles going by its history. There's only room for 30-40 characters in that time, so every time they release yet another young white girl it takes away a slot that could have gone to somebody else. And then Genesis 9 comes out and the cycle repeats again. We only get 1 Monique. Only 1 Mei Lin. But here we are not even into the second year of G8 and we already have 2 white fairies.
I get that Daz is a business, but Daz makes money on every single transaction in this store. Its not like Originals are their only source of income. And they take a much larger stake of each sale than Steam, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and others do in their app stores. While there are other places to buy diverse characters, Daz is the only place that releases characters to a ticker tape parade every few weeks. A near endless ticker tape parade of white girls. There is status to being represented as a Daz Original.
There are similarities, I'll grant you, but they don't look almost the same to me. I'm nowhere near familiar with either to tell them apart when separate (well other than their eye size is an obvious give-away). I suppose the problem is that TJ8 (and earlier) looks stylised, as no teen has eyes so large; hell no child has eyes that large proportianally.
Their eyes looks almost identical. Maybe it's the huge eyelashes and makeup throwing you off with the Mika 8. I don't have the same angle for both of their faces, but this is the best I can do comparing faces and eyes. I superimpose their images.
Duplicate post.
Could you you do a close-up head shot and side view with Mika 8 and MiKa 7?
