Bit disappointed with the arrival of Mika 8. We already had Karyssa 8. They're too similar. And she is also now the third female in a row.

It is one of those things I suppose and well yes she is too similar to Karyssa 8, what is more interesting it the new name entries in some of the items..
Kaylee 8: Well we sort of already knew that this character was coming..
Mabel 8: This one is entirely new so will be interesting to see where they slot her in, in the character lineup..
She's cute, but she's similar to Karyssa 8 and Mika 7, which I already have. I will need to think about this one. I have Sunny 7 and Izabella 7 too, and also Giselle 6, so I have a lot of pixie-ish characters.
The third toon/stylized character in a row as well. Should we expect The Girl 8 in two weeks?
Daz seems mildly obsessed with fairies.
Mika 8 is pretty solidly in the "not for me" club -- not a statement about her quality or anything else like that; I'm not sure I've ever rendered a single fairy -- but I do like both of the hairs that she comes with. That said, judging from the morph list, Shaved Side hair was pretty clearly made for G3F and then a very simple edit done to make it work with G8F.
In the UK at least, Mabel is a pretty old-fashioned name, something one's grandmother might have been called, but is rarely the name of choice for new parents these days, is this also true in the United States?
Perhaps there is going to be a grandma character?

I skipped Karyssa and Edie and was going to skip this one, too. But I like the P3D morphs for her so I got her. Dialing in some Victoria 8 body should get a cute girl.

Those morphs are nice. I also like Amara HD, the Eolande dress, and the Dewdrop dress. Those outfits would look cute on Karyssa 8 and Mika 8.
I think I may have to just pass completely on this one. She is so very similar to Mika 7 and Kharyssa 8 ( of which I already own both) that there is really nothing new for me here. I’m not even sure that adding the base figure to my “gene pool” of characters would allow me to create anything new that I can’t already do with what I have. There are a couple of nice outfits but even they are not anything I would use in current projects that I have going on. The ten free objects option is a nice way to sweeten the deal IF I can find ten objects in the selection that I could actually use. Maybe the prices will settle out later on and the discounts will stack better than they do right now or an “orange banner discount” will show for owners of Mika 7 or something. I just don’t know what DAZ3D is thinking right now. We have people on the forums practically begging for ethnic characters such as Lee 8 and Mei Lin. 8 as well as other ethnicities not yet introduced and yet they give us a second fairy bundle.
Probably because fairies sell well. Or they could be elves.

She will sell to Daz store core buyers who like baby faced females and fantasy. Unfortunately for me she has nothing I can use. I need male content. Good job to those who put effort into making her but I never buy fairies or teens.
WTF! this is Karyssa again! LOL! Did Daz forget? Oh well, good thing. I spent way too much money the last few months. I can finally rest easy for the next one :) Thank you Daz. Seems weird after having the awesome Edie 8, so unique.
some nice items mainly the hair that i like. and Amara who isnt in the pro pack has a nice body shape.
Feel this character is mainly a dial character to increase the "cute factor".

Could be. Mabel was a terribly fashionable name around the period of WWI. And then that generation seems to have taken the name with them. Definitely an "old lady" vibe to it.
Although who knows? Maybe it's suddenly got trendy again. It could be like Emma which has been making quite a comeback.
I haven't made up my mind.
However, I do like both hair products in the pro bundle. And I found three Addons I like, the Zahara Hair and Expansion and the P3D Mika 8 Morph Package, (I figure I could substitute the Karyssa morph for Mika, if necessary.) So I put these five items in my cart and took a screenshot. Then I emptied the cart and put in the Pro bundle and these three addons. The difference is 51¢. So if buy my current cart, I'll get 10 items in the Pro bundle, including Mika 8, for 51¢. Plus another 10 older products for free. Five products vs 25 products, (counting all 12 items in the bundle separately,) for nearly the same price. YMMV.

This is neither here nor there, but the related items remind me of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies. I've been watching the extended editions on Blu Ray.

Then if you get the 20% off, you're paying 80% so 66.13 x .8=52.90
I have three things and am supposed to get 30% off so am paying 70% 52.90 x .7 is 27.44
That aint happening. It's still 52.90. The three additional addons is not lowering the price. Are you seeing the 27.44? Or is my math wrong?

I also really like the look of the PD3 Mika 8 morph package
Karysa 8 has the "special ability" of being able to make other characters cuter when you added a touch of her to them, and it would be interesting to see if Mika 8 or those PD3 Mika 8 morphs can do something similar.
For the free stuff - I would prefer picking a couple of previous pro bundles.
Sooo, Mika 8...
I'd have rather had the usual 'pick two pro bundles' thingie instead of this pick 10 thing. Looking through the pick 10 list, not much is jumping out at me. But for those of you that already have pretty much all of the pro bundles, well maybe it'll work out better for others in that case.
At the moment, I'm liking Mika 7 better, but the week is young. I'll give her another gander later in the week maybe. Mika 7 for 8 is overpriced IMHO.
As for Mika being an elf, I dunno, I'm not seeing it, although googling elf female, yeah the look of an elf can be all over the place. I tend to think of elves as thin and graceful with 'more anglular' features in the face, although I'm not sure where I picked that particular preference from. Elmore's elves are all over the place too, so I guess I'm not getting that from D&D.
I didn't watch Record of Lodoss War until much later (after forming that preference), but Deedlit's face is probably closer to how I see elves in my mind... but everyone thinks of elves differently, so this is probably a pointless thought exercise.

Yeah, I got that 27.44 somehow first, too, but that's not what it should be. 52.9 x .7 = 37.03
I don't know how we both got the same wrong price at first. :D
