    Daz Studio: Home of Scantily Clad Vicky with a Sword, and Fairies.

    She's not just similar to Karyssa, she could pass as a spin dialed clone and nobody would notice. I fail to understand the appeal of buying a nearly identical model from the same generation again, no matter what is in her bundle. IMO, Karyssa had a better bundle, too. She does not add to the gene pool, and her skin looks like something I've seen before, too. Her base includes a head, body and ear morphs, nothing new we haven't seen before like how Sakura had all kinds of neat morphs to add. She needs an extreme discount and a very compelling offer.

    And Daz HAD to release yet another fairy before highly requested models like Mei Lin and Lee. Is Mei Lin really that low on the priority list? Is diversity really that poor of a seller?

    Sorry if already asked, but I'm confused about Mika's Age.

    Mika 7 was officially an adult, since her pro bundle came with the G3F-AE and the core figure has AE mats.

    Mika 8 has neither?

    Is this magical time reversal?

    Do Faries age in reverse?

    Is this Mika: The Prequel? surprise

    Well... the appeal is that I like the look and I’m making a fantasy setting and having lots of girls from the same artist will add to project consistency and there’s lots of racial diversity in add-one and they’re giving me 10 free fantasy settings to put her in. Plus, I like Thorne. She has a style that really appeals to me and she does (occasionally) make boys in the same style. And I imagine that despite the salt here every time Daz releases a bundle around one of her faces, they must sell pretty well because they’re adorable and they keep coming.

    I would agree except I've just woken up from being passed out from holding my breath for too long. Even an extra 20% does NOT sweeten the deal.

    I'm really enjoying the releases for Genesis 8. As someone who has felt there needs to be more male content, the male content released so far has been, IMO, fantastic: Aldo, Ollie, Owen. They have added a LOT of character to the range of options in G8M.

    Oh, and here's Mika as an elf guy.

    After Ollie and Edie, Mika 8 is about 100 steps back IMHO.

    I sure hope Daz will release a series of non-white official characters after this, but with how #DazSoWhite Genesis 8 has been in the official representation department, I'm not going to hold my breath.

    I'm not sure why all the freebies are medieval to go with an elf... I was hoping they would have more free non-pro-character bundles as freebies like the nerd and party bundle. I have no interest in medieval stuff and have enough fairy stuff for a lifetime. But the biggest problem is I don't even think she's cute. I bought Mika 7 and Karyssa 8 right away but this is like a less cute version and in some promos she has that Rudolph red nose... What's with all the red noses lately? Is it cold in elf/fairy land? I usually really like fairy/elf stuff but nothing really grabs me with the character or add-ons and definitely nothing to add to the gene pool since I have Karyssa 8, Josie 8 and all the Thorne/Handspan morphs already. I'll look through the freebies again to see if it's worthwhile for that, but will most likely pass on this one.

    Ahhh... thank you for clearing that up ATI.  Yeah, I let the PC+ membership lapse until a time when there is a sale on it.  Looks like no buying for me for a while. laugh

    I'm still waiting for Gianni 8. I never buy the fairy/elf characters. They're a bit too cartoony for my renders.

    I love fantasy characters, especially elves and fairies, but I may have to pass on this one. I feel like I've already been there and done that-with Karyssa 8, Mika 7, and a few others. Would much rather see some Centaur 8 stuff or mermaids.

    Only thing I am buying out of the bundle is the Shaved Side Hair.  I don't ever pass up anything from Samsil.   Then I'm buying Zahara Hair 2 and the Fairy Expansion.  Not because I like Fairies (I loathe fairies) but for the new morphs, hair colors and the crystals.  I can use those in other stuff not fairy related like magic or mystical renders.

    I'm over all this anime/fairy craze here. My PC membership expires tomorrow (May 10) and I'm sitting here at the 11th hour deciding if I even care enough to renew.  The gene pool here is really shallow, and at some point it feels like too much inbreeding.. Plus, I'm offended by the whole 'Trailer Trash' theme last week. Just because ppl live in a trailer doesn't mean they're bubbas, 'Billy Bobs' sporting mullets and beer hats, or other derogatory terms. Don't generalize ppl.

    Sorry, got off the track of fairies, anime, waifs or other young teen types. None of which I ever buy or support.  I want guys too.  Like others, I would love to see Gianni 8 and Darius 8. No more skinny white guys with shaved bodies.  Blech...over it.

    Bubba is not a derogatory term. That's been a nickname we called my Great Granny and I was called bubba too occasionally. Billy Bob, Billy Ray, Jim Bob, and all those hyphenated names are authentic names too & aren't insulting, although I do agree in the media folk from southeastern US are far too often spoken of derogitively and often that insulting atititude toward southerners has spread internationally. And yes, I've known females that were named Bobby. Even once, when I was visiting Norway a fellow, who wasn't even drunk or anything, started loudly imitating my speech in a crowded public place when I asked restaurant staff for a rag to clean up a spill I made.

    I actually really like her.  I didn't pick up Karyssa 8 and have no plans to do so, so for me this was a win.  And the 10 free items didn't hurt things either.  But, most of my personal art is fantasy and/or medieval and for me, she is distinctive enough for me to buy with all the extras and discounts.  And I know everyone says she looks just like Karyssa 8 but to me, they look very different.  And since I actually like all the items in the pro bundle it works for me.  And it was nice to have an offer that included stuff I could use, the 10 free items were far more useful for me than the offer of pro bundles.  There are not many left for me to choose from so it worked out well for me this time around.

    There are fewer of them as they sell less well; sad it may be, but don't be eager in your anticipation.

    I don't buy many males, but enjoy their appearance as it saves me some cash. :)

    Mika 8, I like (no objection at all to pointy-eared cuteness), but the bundled items, well, don't want, never mind need.

    Because https://www.daz3d.com/brisen-for-mika-8 lists anatomaical elements materials, Fred Winkler never lists AE but almost always has them as an automatic application when you apply the base materials, and there's no AE listed at all on Mika 8's base character page and no AE prop listed on Mika 8's Pro Bundle...

    Is there a mistake in the product listing for Mika 8? Can someone who has purchased her confirm?

    Strange really; fairies (and similar) don't age, appear perpetually young when compared to humans, and don't always have a male counterpart in the mythos. No idea if they'd have 'anatomical elements' as they are not obviously mammals despite looking like they could be. Some come into existance when their tree/pool/pile of rocks/ ergo special place appears, and live as long as it exists.

    It depends on your myths. People tend to focus on what interests them and young pretty fairies seem to be popular subject matter in art for obvious reasons....

    It can be but the woman I know has Bobby on her birth certificate. It's also a common Swiss thing to hyphenate 1st & middle names as one name, they did that to me when I moved to Switzerland. I think it's also common in the Alps generally.

    She's cute but a little too much like Karyssa and Mika 7 for my taste. I am hoping for The Girl 8 or Mei Lin 8 soon!!!
