True, 50% is a good deal, but it's one that comes around pretty regularly for a lot of vendors. So I'm not motivated to put my hand in my pocket like I would be for a "OMG will we ever get a deal this good again?" kind of sale. March Madness is supposed to be one of Daz's big standout sales of the year, and this one's still pretty ordinary. Let's just hope they're saving something spectacular for the last weekend...
Seems as though "Today's Mad Offer" is not working. (I have Ollie 8 Pro in cart and 4 add-ons). The character is showing at full price, not free.
ETA: NM. I see what they are doing (if they are doing it and not a glitch) So, if you buy 4 add-ons it looks like you can only choose from that free bracket, which in this case would be 'Pro Bundles.' Odd that because some could own all PB and would take a lesser item but you can't. Is that how this is working?
LOL Why does the main promo for the Ollie 8 Starter Bundle show Olllie 8 in the aviator uniform that is only included in the Pro bundle?
Oh, I'm sure people are still buying and that most people don't post in the forum.
But I also know that when there is a lot of traffic in the forum, the sale is usually more exciting too. When the traffic in the thread is low... the excitement seems to be more restrained.
I have no idea how that reflects with people who don't post to the forum, of course - but I'd think they probably know the difference between an incredible sale and a more modest one, too.
So frustrating to be stuck on the discount only if you own Aiko 8 Pro Bundle.. Please go back to Edward or Sakura! Really, I'd pull the trigger in a New York minute on the Pro Bundle and extras, but frustrated over the whole Aiko 8 forever... Musing over my cart... which is probably gonna end up emptied... I know... 10%, but it's 10% and I know Ollie will go on sale later. The difference between sincere temptation and actually needing the character any time soon, I guess. Didn't get a GC and regretting that...

As someone who didn't buy Edward's Pro Bundle (but did buy Alexandra), that was how I felt when they would only have Edward as the bonus 10% off. So, I feel your pain, but I wouldn't want to go back to Edward (since I did get Aiko).
In the next day or two I am sure Ollie will be the new 10% off trigger. Was actually surprised it didnt switch over today. So you can probably buy Ollie 8 when it switchesand still get all of the extras and then the 10% should apply to himself and the rest of the cart. I believe it works that way.
Indeed. As a PC member for ten years, (unless it is something truly awesone that I need right then)my threshhold for PA items is about 60% off or more , and 70 percent off for a DO. I've had a couple of V3 items on my WL for 10 years, as the threshold of what I'm willing to spend decreases with time; if they were ever 80% off I'd probably get them.
I may bite on a lower discount if I have a coupon, and still lower if I can knock off some wishlisted items as a combo deal. However, I don't have time to mess much with complicated combo deals.
I haven't bought too much in this sale; mostly PC items and a couple of wishlisted older items I used my coupons on. I did get two daily bonus Items, but no Mad items...
Yeah, but they need to distribute the wealth and not keep penalizing the same people. They skipped back and forth when doing the other bundles. It IS costing them sales, as I made the conscious decision not to buy on multiple days due to that 10%. As the saying goes, "I vote with my wallet." When you have a discouraging requirement to get further discounts, it is going to turn people away. For every vocal critic, you have additional people who aren't saying anything but feel the same way.
Is it me, or does the wording of the promo seem confusing? It kind of sounds like the bonus free bundles should stack... Buy 2 extra Ollie items and get a base character, buy 3 extra Ollie items and get a base character and a starter bundle... buy 4 extra Ollie items and get a base character, a starter bundle and a pro bundle...
Which wouldn't be an unusual kind of offer - and would be tempting.
But it isn't working that way. They're tiers, and as you move up to the next tier, the previous bundles or base characters are no longer free.
Well. I'm slowly convincing myself I probably should get Ollie 8 even if he doesn't appeal to me personally, and then I run up against 'should pick out a bonus Pro Bundle' and I look at the ones I mostly don't have and I hit decision paralysis because they've made the Pro Bundle Deal so inconsistent.
I do not know if it has been mentioned, found or fixed yet but there seems to be a glitch involving the add-ons and the choice of a bonus Pro Bundle. At least I think it's a glitch, but with the confusing promo who knows? Anyway it was a good one. ;-)
I sort of like Ollie after seeing him mixed with other characters, but fastgrab is full of Silver and Aeon Soul items..... it might be an expensive day for me. :D
This is about sale prices in cart.
I tried for 3+ weeks to get DAZ Support to explain what math principles are used to calculate final cart costs (PC Club, Sale Percentages, Special Discounts). I thought they had finally done it with the last response, but when I tried to do the calculation, guess what.....it didnt work. Math is a science. It should be repeatable. Why then can I not repeat the formula to get the right answer?
How can the support staff not have this documented to easily explain to users???
And I have another rant on refunds...saving that for a more appropriate thread.
But it has been Aiko since Aiko was released. It was Edward, Owen, Karrysa (I think?), and Urban Future 5 for a much shorter time.
I refused to buy Madeline because she was so much. She was the only Mad Bonus item I was going to buy. Not going to for that much. Plus, my DAZ Studio is now not letting me use the last three orders I purchased. Smart Content refuses to display them, instead saying Metadata update failed.
Not... sure why it got lost in the quote there, but the price issue appears to have been reported?
Watch your totals today. I clicked to pay by paypal - got sent to paypal and my bill jumped from $69 to $180. Luckily I noticed it before I hit the pay button at paypal and stopped the transaction. Went back to my shopping cart, tried it again and the 2nd time the balance was correct.
Snagged the Aiko 7 Pro Bundle for $13.18. Just had to buy four texture sets I'll likely never use for $3.295 a piece. Could have gotten it for less if I hadn't already used the $6 DO coupon. At least somewhat makes up for no free pro bundle with Aiko 8.

I've not bought anywhere close to what i have spent in the last couple of March Madness sales. Not even half. A. There isn't that much I HAVE to have. B. The prices are higher and the sales are not as good. C.I didn't buy the Aiko 8 bundle and I resent being penalized for it by having that as the extra discount for so long D. I'm tired of trying to figure out the convoluted discounts, half the time I have no idea if my cart is right and I don't have time to figure it out. I think I bought something every day last year. This year, its been more like every 5, 6 ,7 days instead.
I did buy a gift card yesterday and picked up the Striga Outfit with DarwinsMishaph Athana, plus the new Goblin, two more outfits from Arki that have been in my wishlist and the Teardrop hair by Arki. However, it had nothing to do with the March madness sale, as I was planning on picking up the first outfit and Athana when they came out now matter when that happened. I'm still really annoyed that I did not get the extra 10% off that people who own the Aiko 8 bundle got. I"ve purchased a ton of bundles, I just don't happen to have a use for that one. The extra outfits and hair I used my gift card for as that brought them down to what I was willing to spend on them (not that they aren't worth every single penny, they are, but I do have to stick to my budget)
Nope. Technically the pro bundle was $0, but the useless (for me) texture sets were a means to an end, so I was counting them as $0 and the pro bundle as $13.18. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Misleading and/or confusing adcopy is my biggest pet peeve with so many of the Daz sales. Forget that it's not acceptable in the US… Clearly stated adcopy means fewer bad feelings on the part of customers, and a whole lot less work for the overworked folks in Customer Service. (It also means fewer lost sales, but that's a number that can't be quantified. Not everyone who ditches their cart comes into the forums to voice their displeasure.)
Unfortunately, she shows up as 13 dollars in my cart.
