To their credit, the store pages do have a field for software compatibility. We just need to look at it!
The reason I look is because of Carrara. I've almost gotten snared a couple of times. (Carrara has some really neat items!)
Well, MM was the most disappointing sale for me, ever. Of the few things I did get, the only one that lived up to the promises was https://www.daz3d.com/paige-hair-for-genesis-8-females (Great work, PhilW), and Edward 8, though he was technically pre-MM. I hardly touched my wishlist, because any stacked discounts that did apply were less than previous discounts.
I guess I'll wait till the end of year sales, and any Fastgrab sales, in hope Daz returns to form. Otherwise, I'll keep my money. I'm already regretting extending my PC+ membership during the 2017 end of year sales. I've be posting here since 2005, and using Studio since it was in the original beta, and it's still fun, but I can see the cracks appearing: most products are failing quality control in varying degrees, and rising prices with unappealing discounts.
Disappointment aside, looks like there are some glitches today... Just the wrong kind of glitches.
Fat bike (https://www.daz3d.com/fat-bike) is at full PC price even though it is a still mad product, and Kincaid (https://www.daz3d.com/kincaid-for-genesis-8-male) has lost his still new discount (that may not be a glitch, but you never know).
Yeah... but there have been a number of times I've purchased an item then looked for it, and found it either didn't work or didn't work right, then come back to see that field and realize it wasn't DAZ compatible.
Part of the problem there is between Shopping Cart Jinga and glitches and DAZ Midnight turning your carriage back into a pumpkin... a lot of times there is this rushed feeling of "I need to check out this cart before something changes and the price jumps 240%..."
That combined with a layout where the product compatibility is a receipe for opening a support ticket for a refund.
Like I said... that other store seems to make it a lot clearer... "This product is tested in Poser and should work in DAZ but some surface and lighting effects will not work the same - see the readme for details..."
I think I have that disclaimer pretty much verbatim for not cutting and pasting it from over there. But again, maybe I pay more attention over there because they're a more poser oriented outlet.
I'm always at exactly 14.0 MB/s but lately with daz it's been horrible. I suffered through the Essentials downloads the other day when I originally posted, and it sounds like according to Novica there are more. Please, No! because I just have this dread that this speed issue is still going on. Wonder if it's because of the sale, however I can't say that I remember having this problem with either PC+ or PA Fest sales ever.
Better go have a look at dim and see if there are more Essential updates or others. Please, No! Help! Say it ain't so!
Does someone know from experience how long the catch-up sale will be? Only today or the whole weekend?
I consider to buy something but want to wait till the last day for possible better special offers.
On another note, to limit the choice to only newly mad items ( and not still mad too like at past sales) to get the additional daz-original discounts seems to be counterproductive in my opinion.
I am certainly tempted to buy something to get the additional 5-30$ discount but can't find something useful for me among the few newly mad releases.
Well, seems like I have to carry my money to the competition.
I'm drooling over those speeds! I'm out in the countryside, which I love, but we're on metered satellite internet. We only get so much a month and then it's slowed way down. My family blasts through the high speed in no time, and 3D stuff certainly takes its toll. Most days I'm happy to get 1 MB/s and usually it's wayyyy less than that!
I would be surprised if it wasn't all weekend.
So... when does March Madness start this year, anyhow?
I don't like to tell you but it's almost over, but I think it's spent the last 11 months in therapy, and it's seems that the therapy has been rather too successful for it's own good.
I think the current offer is great, and I'm sure the catch-up will run tomorrow. I'm just hoping the "daily deal" ($ off DAZ Originals with Newly Mad purchase) doesn't change before tomorrow. *fingers crossed* I haven't been paying enough attention to see if Saturday and Sunday are generally the same for MM.

All products are not created equal by any means, but to say MOST fail quality control- can't agree with that. It's unfair (not to mention insulting) to the PAs.

Novica... most of the recent new releases have seemed to have a lot more flaws than previous releases. Incomplete documentation, missing pieces.
At the price of the Globetrotter RV, I would expect it to be more fully documented. As it is, the description is broken and you really have to stumble around the object in DAZ to figure out how to do things like enable the image on the TV, switch the TV morph to make the TV visible or not, move the RV slideouts. I've seen this kind of incomplete attention to detail more often on DAZ content, as the price rises. I'm not sure if it is people getting used to Dforce and G8, or changes in the DAZ engine... or a rush to get content out behind all of that... but quality control does seem to have slipped. When I buy from other stores that are not as DAZ specific, I'm not as surprised. In fact, I think that in the past a lot of content that was probably rejected here ended up for sale at other sites. I'd have to agree that the rate of flawed or incomplete content has increased since the release of Genesis 8.
None of that is down to QA, though. Instructions are not a requirement, their provision varies by the disposition (and ability to cope with English) of the maker.
There are any number of English speaking customers who could write up basic documentation for products from non-English speaking vendors, and many of us would be willing to do it for a free copy of the product. Perhaps Daz could set up an official way for those vendors to connect with customers who want to volunteer for the "job." It would be a win-win for everyone involved.
Well, this makes the first month in a long time that I haven't used both of my coupons.
I waited longer than usual to use mine, though typical of these event sales. I used the PA coupon on the 2nd, and the PlatClub coupon on the 4th. (Experience has taught me I'll spend far less time perusing the store if I just use each coupon on the first qualified order each month.)
Also makes it a bit less likely I'll forget whether I've used them both yet. I did miss some for a while after the store changeover, but I usually manage to get them both used up nowadays. I really wish someone would figure out how to get round the "free stuff eats coupon value" bug, though...

I think it's great! I wouldn't have paid today's asking price for it, but there have so many times when I wanted nose and/or ear hair for project. I'm really happy it's an April Fools freebie.

On another topic, it's well past Daz Midnight on April 1st… Any possibility we can get the April coupons working while the catchup sale is still live?
(Perhaps I should be asking if anyone else is having trouble using the April PlatClub or Save6 coupons…?)
