really great job! It does resemble both Brandon Routh and Christopher Reeves but it has an almost cartoon quality to it. I dig it.
Ok, so here is a new attempt at Wonder Woman ... kinda sorta. Not really sure yet.
Nice! What outfit is that?

Right now this is pretty much unchanged and OOB but I went with different footwear because the boots that came with it looked deformed once I autofit the clothing to G3F. Still just a work in progress and lots of things I want to customize on this.
So does anyone know how I might be able to make a decent Human Torch (on fire effect) and The Thing from Fantastic Four. Preferably for G2/G3.
Yes. Iray or 3Delight?
Well I would prefer 3Delight cause I am on MAC and iRay is terribly slow to render cause I don't have Nvidia cards. But if iRay is only way to do it then so be it.
For the Torch, Oskarsson has the “Genesis Firebird” at the other site for Genesis, which would probably autofit well enough, if you want to check that out. I think that would probably be a good starting point, and for the Thing, there’ve been a few in the store here that would to a good job, but I can’t think of their names at the moment...

One I do remember for the Thing is Joe Quick’s Rock Man for F4, available here:

– Walt Sterdan
What I like about JoeQuick's version is the variety of head morphs based upon the different ways he was drawn in the comics. I opted for the "Thing G" morph as that was closest to the Jack Kirby style..
Here's two renders, one with the supplied "dry lake bed" texture and a secomnd using the maps from RawArt's "Rock Giants" set, arguably a bit more "naturlaistic" and somewhat resembling the "lumpy, muddy" design when the character debuted..
Sincerely,
Bill
Those both look awesome. So those are only available for F4? I don't think I actually have F4. I would also be curious to know whether or not that morph can be converted to G1/2/3
*** Edit: Ok, so I do have Freak 4. Just gotta experiment with the body morphs and figure out how to get the displacements to work. I can't seem to get the cracked look that you have achieved even with it set to 200%
Several years ago there was a stand=alone model of Ben Grimm by someone named Patorak3D. Going for a more stylized comic or cartoon look rather than the "realistic" look of the previous examples. Alas, the model vanished from ShareCG, possibly pulled by the creator when the hosting siye considered charging fees. Also frustrating, the zip I have does not include a "read-me", so no one knows Patorak's stance on sharing.
But here's what it looks like. The cigar is not included, but the package did come with a collection of poses.
Sincerely,
Bill
My original Genesis Thing. :)
Here's a more recent render with the Genesis 3 Series... bad render but a better one is "cooking" :)
@redfern - I definitely like the look of the first one you posted. I am gonna have to experiment on the displacement settings. Can't seem to get the cracks looking right. Also, where did you get that cigar? That's perfect for my Hellboy too!
Whoah! How did you do the textures on thing and stretch Mr Fantastic limbs?
Thanks Walt. That Firebird one looks pretty good. Added to my wishlist over there.
A prop that came with this free set by Idelacio...

You might want to either shorten its length or shove it deep within his mouth (that sounds lewd!) to make it look short and fat.

Bill

The Texture is from Oskarson's Crackelac HD figure sold here. I just took it into Photoshop and made it more orange. Stretching limbs is easy. Just find the axis on which the limb most closely follows and crank that up. X for arms, Y for legs and torso, and neck. I also used the "Lengthen" morphs for each limbs after taking the limits off each. :)
Oh, and I used Firebird from the other place and Morphing Flames and a fire shader I got from here.for Human Torch.
Awesome! Thanks.
Nice. That crackelac might be good for a Darkseid skin as well if there is a way to dial it down a bit. Definitely adding that to my wishlist.
Working on a Darkseid now. :) Will post someth8ng later, maybe tomorrow for him.
Snap! I can't wait to see it! Are you modeling the helmet and outfit yourself or were you able to kit bash something together?
Thanks to "Teen Titans, Go!", I'll never be able to think of Darkseid without "Weird Al" Yakovic.
"Huh?!" you ask?
In one of the rare half hour segments, the slapstick version of the Titans encounter the galactic menace as he threatens the lives of the Justice League. StarFire fears his gutteral voice is the result of an irritated throat and thus offers him some cough drops. His voice actually "clears" and from that point is voiced by the master of song parodies, Weird Al! I'm serious; I checked the credits.
Sincerely,
Bill
WTF?! LOL. Wow.
Think I'm "BS"ing? Here's the relevant sequence.
Sincerely,
Bill
There is an old set for F4 I am updating. It's under JoeQuick's Gallery on ShareCG.com
*sigh* I hate Titans Go.....so much2. I cannot believe they cancelled original much BETTER VERSION and also cancelled Young Justice. At least Young Justice is coming back.
I thought it ceased production because one of the key production personnel died and they didn't think they could maintain the same "chemistry". Either that or same person died after the series concluded, lreducing the chances of a direct continuation.
Sincerely,
Bill
I saw one for F3 but not F4. How are you updating it?
Sorry, yes. For F3. I am going to update it into a conforming clothing for G3M.
