WOW.. do I see Chemical King in there too?

Nope, this is the first 20 Legionnaires; he comes in a few years later (and was one of my favourites). I’ll be doing the next wave (and updated costumes) the next time I have a few days off.

    Thanks for commenting, much appreciated.

Alrighty, so here are my attempts at the Fantastic Four.  I am not all that happy with the body morphs settings on the Thing.  But I gave up messing with it.

My first posting around this parts in a long long time!  Am starting the learning curve of using DAZ Studio as I've felt Poser is simply no longer offering the capabilities as the Studio side of the divide... and it certainly has changed much since my last render in DS somewhere back when version 2 had just been released!  But as the superhero render genre is one that I've done often enough, it seemed a good place to start!  So:

There's some series on either Amazon Prime or Netflix about old toys and they did one on GI Joe. They had the creators of the old 60s/70s versions (the living ones, anyway) as well as the guys who oversaw the TV show and action figures of the 80s.  They said they needed to put out another character but they were low on budget so they said "what if we just don't paint him?" They figured nobody would buy an unpainted (i.e. all black) figure but they had to put something out so they rolled with it.  Snake-Eyes was born and he turned out to be their best seller. Go figure!

I remember in the early days, Snake-Eyes was a commando, but everyone played him as a ninja.  Eventially, the comic, cartoon, and toys caught up with the fans.  LOL!  Good times.  I use to play with Snake eyes, Storm Shadow and the other G.I. Joes for hours.  I grew up a military brat, so I was their perfect target.  I was disappointed in the movies. I still watched them, but they could've been sooo much better.

It would never match up to the idealized theater of your child-mind when you were a kid in the 80's. Sorry. I wish I could bottle the mind I had back then and visit it from time to time. So unjaded and fascinated by little peices of plastic. *chuckle*

G.I. Joe.  Man oh man.  I even had the 7 ft aircraft carrier in my house.  I gotta say, I only watched the first movie and it was terrible to me.  At this point I have no hope that hollywood will put out anything good based on child toys anymore.  Aside from the Marvel movies, it seems like everything from my childhood is getting stomped on and destroyed.  I won't even bother with Rampage.  I like Dwayne Johnson and all, but Rampage???  Was anyone seriously clammoring for that game to be made into a movie?

Also we could imagine all these cool adventures our favorite characters would have because their stories were not yet told fully. For example I started playing with Star Wars stuff in the late 70s and we'd act out all these crazy battles and Luke killing Vader and running off with Leia all kinds of nutty stuff. Then The Empire Strikes back and it's like "oh, well we can't play that anymore, let's make up stuff about Lando now".  But the more you know a chanacter, the less freedom you have to make your own story for him. That's why GI Joe was so much fun, the story was just a bunch of fights, never an end to the war between the Joe's and Cobra so you could imagine ANYTHING!

I made stuff up dispite the cannon stories.  I didn't care.  I always played Boba Fett as a good guy.

Remember one thing.  No one can destroy your childhood memories, but you.  Our childhood is over and no one can rewrite that.  If they make a bad movie, I say to myself, "That sucked, nothing like when I was a kid." and then I pretend the movie never happened.  For me there are no Alien movies after the 2nd.  I won't let anyone ruin my childhood memories of something.  I was disappointed with the G.I. Joe movies, but I just shrug my shoulders and move on.  If someone asks me my opinion, I'll tell them that the movie sucked, (compared to the comics), because of this and this, but my childhood is still in tact no matter what, because it's in the past.  It's a mental thing.  I had a rough childhood and I won't let anyone spoil my happy memories.

Boba Fett = good? Feasible! We know almost nothing about him other than he once hung out with Darth Vader and Jabba. He had no backstory other than "bounty hunter" and virtually no lines. Perhaps he was really a rebel spy and just pretending to be bad or maybe he was under some mind control drug. Maybe he was a hero in the clone wars and could yet be restored to his greatness. Heck, maybe he's secretly Han's half brother who ruined the family business with his mismanagement, forcing Han to turn to smuggling and himself to desperately take on bounty hunting contracts in order to survive, adopting the name Boba Fett out of shame for what he was doing. Or he could be the true power behind the throne, the Emporer's puppet master. Who knows?  He's a guy you could make up anything about for sure!

    Who is the easiest? :)

So far Hulk, Daredevil and Flash were easiest for me by far.  Smay's Mr Hyde is basically the Hulk Out of the Box though so not sure it qualifies as a Kitbash.

I would say any Injustice or new movie costumes have been a challenge for me because of the armor.  Almost everyone i see making them are using Zbrush or other app, so i dont think that qualifies as true kitbash either.
