Lots of new vendors under the DAZ Originals umbrella. Ones I can see at a glance: Surreality, Liquid Rust, Lantios, SoulessEmpathy... Probably more if you look closer.
"Get them while you can"
That did "sound" a bit ominous, didn't it?

Looks like mainly old products with everything at least 2 years old in their stores? Maybe they're vendors who've "abandoned" their store, could be either passed away or just disappeared? Perhaps there's something in their contract that says if they hadn't heard from then in a couple years then Daz automatically gets their products.
Or I could be way off. Just speculation.
2 new releases to get 8% GC and PA sale is coming
I'm pretty sure that there will be another bigger GC sale so I pass
PA sale last year began with TerreDome3 n Star 2.0, this year maybe Star 3.0 or 8.0?
I see a release date of 07/09/17 on that, so it would be new, but past it's discounted period unless you're seeing it as part of another sale.
Everything that just got the 30% discount yesterday evening became a Daz original. It's too long to list, if you get the best prices notification, then you got some of them; other than those there rae some Frances Coffill and TangoAlpha products.
Plus Frances Coffill and TangoAlpha. There may still be more products that I own, and thus were not listed.
I was just quoting what they wrote on several sales banners recently. Feel free to interpret it as you like.
PC new items are currently triggering the giftcard/PA sale discounts. Not sure I can justify it, with a full week still to go on my credit card charge cycle, but worth looking into if the non-PC new releases weren't floating your boat.
Isn't that how the banner SAYS the sale works? You add two new PC items and you get an 8% discount on a Gift Card...
Which isn't that great of a deal, really.
I remember seeing 20% sometime in the past, but it's not too frequent... :)
If you're buying the products anyway, 8% is still better than no discount at all. But if you have to buy something you don't really want to trigger the discount, it's not worth it. Even if the products are PC+.
For 20%, I'd buy a couple of PC+ products I didn't really want or need. But that's just me.
A least it is any two new releases. I hate it when you have to buy products from a tiny selection to trigger the discount, as normally I don't want any of them. At least this time the choice is much wider.
If the items aren't what you would have bought anyway and that you probably won't use, you have to factor their price into the price of the "discount" and make sure you buy a large enough gift card to both cover the cost of the items you bought plus give you an additional savings large enough to make it worth while.
At only 8% you need a fairly large amount on a gift card to make it worth while.
The thing I don't like about these giftcard sales is that the giftcards are non-refundable. So if a better sale comes along tomorrow.......
damn, i didn't get to read to the best prices email and deleted it. LOL.
If there's no restriction on using gift cards to buy gift cards, I don't see how a better sale coming along tomorrow would be so terribly advantageous. Couldn't you simply use the 8% off card to buy an even better card, thereby essentially stacking?
Yes there is, we're not allowed to do it, and for precisely that reason.
Yup. It starts making sense with the two cheapest new items you can find and a $250 gift card... you basically get the two items for free and you get a $250 gift card for $230.
Which is ok... but I agree, I'll hold out for a 15% card... maybe 10% if there is some item I *really* want that triggers it.
DAZ does it to me again with the 48 hour mega sale. I could spend my entire months budget in one order, but the sale ends the night before I get paid. Oh well...
I do wonder why they create sales that end before FRIDAY.
I would suspect lots on monies and budget revolve around paydays.....
And before someone comments, it can also be a part of budgeting to allocate a certain amount per pay-period to pursue your hobby.
Friday's already September, and September brings the HUUUUUGE PA sale. Don't worry about not having anything to buy from Friday. ;)
What percentages off?
I must say, one of the best experiences ever was March Madness. It was a massive amount of NEW and awesome items AND the discounts added up and such....
The only downside is I didn't get ANYTHING for buying stuff every day.
I thought there'd be some kind of banner or shoot, an email in thanks....lol
I really like the Voting sale - I can't remember when that was. But they let us all vote on which items or categories would be drastically cut in price. So there was huge anticipation and lots of forum negotiation. It was a ton of fun. The least fun are the ones where you have buy something you don't want today in anticipation of a better discount tomorrow and the hopes that there might be something you do want tomorrow. That's usually when I just abandon the sale and go render.
That said and done... I'm NOT going to buy the Ophelia 7 Pro Bundle!! There are only 3 items in it that I want. I already own 1 and if Ophelia 7 Base character was included in the sale (like a bunch of other Base characters), I'd buy the other two today.
Hi,
I don't know if my question has been asked before, but what is the "usual" percentage of sales (60, 70% etc ...) of the annual PA sales?
Let's say I want to buy many Ironman13 bundles. Right now I can grab them for a 70% discount but I wonder if 80% or even 90% sales exist in PA sales (which will come very soon).
Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience, I'm a newbie :D.
I can only speak for the last 2-3 years of the PA sales, but generally the "standard" discount for non-new stuff is not that high, ie 50% or sometimes 60%. The main advantage of the PA sale is that new items are cheaper, sometimes a straight 50% off, or sometimes 40% off for one, and 50% for two. Having said that, there are occassions when some deals cross and the total discount will be huge. You just have to be patient, and jump on the best deals when they come up. I remember last year that there was some very good deals that came up. I think I got Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 3 for $5 or so.
The craziest deals however were actually last December, when many items, including some not that old, was 80-90% off, or more, although I think sometimes the very best deals were glitches when discounts stacked somewhat better than marketing had anticipated.
I have to say, I'm much more excited about the PC+ Anniversary Sale in October than the PA sale. Maybe because I'm on a limited budget? but based on March Madness I don't feel like the PA sale will have much to recommend it except for the catch-up sales. And, ok, an extra 10% off new releases, which is certainly something you get accustomed to... but as I recall it, the PC+ DO discount jumped from 30% to 40% during the Anniversary sale too and... as somebody who hasn't yet even picked up the Gen8 morph packs I'm pretty excited about that! (And given how much stuff Daz is acquiring currently.... yeah.)
(ANd do keep in mind that if you buy Ironman13 bundles today, you have until nearly the end of September to spot a better deal and trade up.)
And you don't have to actually "return" them. Just tell about the new (and lower) price and they'll give you a credit for the difference.
