Half A Million Views!
Well, we did it! We surpassed 500,000 views and posts for the 9 Novica and Forum Members' Tips And Product Review threads. With thread 9, as of today with 12,396, the total is 511,966.
For folks who have not visited the threads, the current one is here. It has links back to the other 8 threads.
Thank you to the forum members who help each other and post product questions and showcasings. Long after you share your experiences, you continue to give back to others because the previous threads get thousands of views each month. I am so grateful for the time you take to write up the reviews and chip in to help everyone. Also thanks to the wonderful PAs who patiently explain things or give us tips about their products.
So let's have a celebratory "contest" for all the time we spend on the forums! CONTEST CLOSED
First, you can do up to five renders and get more opportunities to win a gift card. You can only win once. All entries must be posted through August 31st, ending at midnight DAZ time.
The winners will be determined by random drawings.
A minimum 10 people (not renders) must enter for this scenario:
There will be FIVE winners of $10 gift cards and ONE winner of a $25 gift card.
EDIT: Due to such great participation, I added 3 $5 gift cards too.
If 10 people do not enter, I will do a drawing for two $10 gift cards. For each render submitted (up to 5 per person) your name is submitted for the drawing, so 5 entries equals 5 slips of paper / chances for you for the drawing. Once you win, your slips are removed. The $25 drawing will be done first, so everyone has a chance at that one.
Keeping the forum participation results in mind, I think it will be fun to do a theme around it. So let's see how creative/whacky you can get!
Here's your 4 themes. Only one render per post please. Label your render with one of these as the title, and the number of the render (#1 for your first render. If you post another one in a separate post, put #2 after the title.)
Because the focus is on the art showing the concepts, if you still feel an explanation of the scene is needed, it should be limited to 3-4 regular length sentences please. No long stories.
You have three statements, and one concept from which to choose. You can use one for all your entries, use each one more than once, or use several different ones (But only one per entry please, and that will be your title.)
1. "The forums made me do it."
2. "The forums gave me the idea. Isn't this great?"
3. "I'd rather be on the forums." (Character can either say it, or be very identifiable as thinking it.)
4. Show things people (animals, or things) do to try and keep you off the forums. (LOL, remember the TOS and keep it family friendly!)

I'm rendering one now (been almost two hours, still going!) that will poke @icedragonart and @knittingmommy They really met and hung out a few months ago! So thought I'd lump those two active forum users together since they have actually spent time together. It will be another hour or so. Anyway, poke, poke. And we appreciate all that you do in the Art Studio forums!
Lol I can't wait to see it! I really enjoyed meeting KM, her and her family made me feel very welcome. And she is just as nice and just as helpful in real life as she is here.

Knittingmommy asked IceDragonArt to visit Ohio for a family reunion, because she needed someone to help her stay off the forums during the reunion. And indeed, it worked. But afterwards, there were telltale signs of forum temptation, as Knittingmommy kept fiddling with her iPhone.
"What to do?" IceDragonArt wondered.
The answer was obvious. Get out of cell phone range.

Thank you, love Lakeside Folly's water. It's one of my favorites. All the lighting (lanterns, boat lights) were presets done by the vendors. Easy smeezy for those. Took three hours to render as I upped the render quality to over 4.0
Thank you Novica. Yes she was quite excited with that new pair of eyebrows even if they are not perfect (far from it!).
