@milosgulan   Welcome to the contest! I particularly like the edges of the water and the sloping down of the sand to the water's edge. That's the way most of Pensacola Beach looks.

"The forums made me do it." #1

Something for "everybody"... Something old for Hidden Treasures; Something Landscape-y for Llola's August challenge; Something the forums made me do for Novica's contest... did I leave anybody out?

Thank You I am trying to stay on position of Manager and Lifeguard on my small beach in Montenegro and I will need to learn as much as I can in order to do my work good :) This was just a test of shaders on some old beach prop and it worked nicely, I recently got S4 and K4 but didn't had time to install and use it but will try in the future. Probably could add some more details but I am just happy that I have made it :D

"The forums made me do it." #2

I see @Fishtales did something similar... sad

This is the essence of my "cave," but far too uncluttered. Doesn't come very close without modeling the furniture, but I've yet to master modeling, so this will have to do. I took a screenshot of my monitor with a cart full of Daz goodies, including M8, with the mouse hovering over the Checkout button. After getting the screenshot, I bought M8, along with a few other things... Over the past couple of years, the forums have had quite the conversation about lack of good male products, along with the resulting comments that male products don't sell. And thanks to those conversations, and a couple of contests, we are seeing far more male characters, clothing, hair, poses and so on. So even though I promised myself I was not going to get sucked into generation 8, I felt it was important to show DAZ male products do sell... so in a very real sense, the forums made me do it!

After seeing Serene Night's play with paneled images in the forum, I tried one, too. This has Photoshop postwork.

WOW!  This looks great!  Very realistic, which is my favorite look.

@barbalt This has the look of materials from Substance Painter (which I just got a couple weeks ago).  May I ask if that's what you used?

"I'd DEFINITELY rather be on the forums" #2

My brother-in-law lives in Houston and his home got flooded yesterday morning. He and his family were able to wade out to a fire van for transport to a shelter. I hope all those affected stay safe and can return home soon.

Super render barbult! What background is that?

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,859

@rgcincy   Oh no! I hope they can wait out the rest of the rainfall as comfortably as possible.

They're at the convention center for now and are doing OK. They have a single friend who has a 3 bedroom house that they will be able to stay at assuming that house doesn't get flooded. Both their cars are under water too so transportation might be an issue for a while. Fortunately they have food insurance. What a mess - hope all those affected stay safe - still raining.

Things People Do To Try And Keep You Off The Forums

Knittingmommy asked IceDragonArt to visit Ohio for a family reunion, because she needed someone to help her stay off the forums during the reunion.  And indeed, it worked. But afterwards, there were telltale signs of forum temptation, as Knittingmommy kept fiddling with her iPhone.

    "What to do?" IceDragonArt wondered.

The answer was obvious. Get out of cell phone range.

LOL!  OMG, that is great.  Love that @Novica and very true!  :)
