The same thing applied to the deal they were offering to non-PC+ members on new PC+ memberships. No incentive for current members to renew.

    Yes this is something that is concerning me too. When I joined the PC club membership was discounted and there was an offer on when I renewed it. Now I'm due to renew again in a couple of weeks time but it looks like there will be no discount available.;

Personally, I think Daz should just check your order status during you PC+ year, and anyone who has purchase more than say, $500, should auto renew for $0.  Let's just say I spent WAY more than that over the past year.  I bought probably ten times as much stuff as I would have but for the PC+ deals.  It's well worth it for Daz to just keep renewing me.  Believe me, it wouldn't be costing them anything...LOL

Also, I've definitely noticed that overall prices are going up.  So while the percentage discounts seem to be higher, the overall money spent still seems to be ramping upward.

  • Ya know, it occurs to me that the V8 Pro at $66 with another 30% off is $46.  So, if you bought all the Victoria bundles in the past, you'd now save $20 off V8.  You wouldn't be getting a bunch more stuff because you already own it all.  However, if you hadn't purchased any of the items in the various Victoria pro bundles over the years (unlikely I know), and bought V8 at $66, now, you'd save around $300 and get a ton of cool items.

Overall, I'd have to say that the V8 Pro deal is okay for long term Daz buyers.  But, it's a fantastic deal for newbies that don't own any of that stuff.  Now, if Daz made it "Buy V8 Pro Bundle for $66 and choose 3 other pro bundles you don't already own (1 out of each previous generation, to be fair)," I'd be all over that deal in flash!  Right now, my discount is $6 off and I would get a few cool items that I didn't already have.  But, most of these are fairly redundant poses and clothing items.  So, I'm not hating the deal.  But, I'd really love to be able to take advantage of the same savings that a new Victoria buyer would get and pick out some full pro bundles that I haven't already bought most of the items.  For instance, I'd pick Ivan 7 Pro, Nineva 6 or Gia 6 Pro, and Aiko 5 Pro.  Or, if I have to do only women, I'd pick Anneka Demon Pro or Rune 7, or Josie 7, or Arabella 7.  All of those bundles, I only own a few of the items.  So, it would be a much better deal for me.

Anyway, just a thought.  I'm not poo pooing what's being offered.  But, a "choose your own" option might be good for those of us that already own all of the Victorias and the majority of their bundle items. It would certainly get me off the fence.

Agree with this so much. I've been watching the deals and the incentives to buy the new Victoria 8 for past loyal buyers isn't that great, compared to the incentive for someone who has never bought any Victoria Pro model to buy. As it is, when I look at what I paid for past Victoria Pro model packages, even with the additional 10% discount (I'm not sure how it went from me buying 2 past pro models to 3 while I was travelling the Western US...) at $46, that is still steep for a Pro package that doesn't offer a lot of content I am interested in.

I think I'll be sticking with Gen3, Gen2, Gen1 and Generation 4 for the foreseeable future. As DAZ prices seem to trend up, my DAZ purchases have been trending way down. Haven't even been checking in while on this vacation out of fear of missing a great stacking sale, like on vacations past. But, on a lot of items that have been coming up, I've been finding myself thinking, "I wonder how hard it would be to model that in Hexagon myself..." Maybe I'll spend less time shopping and more time modelling going forward.

I really like G8 so far.  But, it isn't a night and day improvement to G3.  Perhaps, we'll see more of what it is capable of being in the coming months.  On the other hand, the advent of G8F is driving some of the G3F items down.  The PC+ stacking sale has been the most interesting thing to me this past week.  But, I'm still wondering how much of it I actually need for my runtime.  I would have preferred not to have to pick 2 new items from only one day's banner.  It seems like Daz is trying to get people away from using new PC+ items as a qualifier.  They really shouldn't worry about that too much.  I mean, I tend to load up my cart when the deals are really good.  I've bought thousands of items and yet, I STILL have 800+ in my wishlist.  So, there's no need to narrow the deal qualifiers that much...LOL  I hope they go back to more of the "Any New Release" type sales.

I can agree with this. Deeply discounting my membership will pay for itself, letting it lapse will almost guarantee my purchases will plummet further than they have already.

    "80% OFF
    THESE FEATURED PRE-GENESIS ITEMS
FOR PC+ MEMBERS, 70% DISCOUNT ON PC+ ITEMS WILL APPLY IN SHOPPING CART."

This is actually fun. The PC+ items I tested were dropping down to 40 cents. I'm not doing Pre-Genesis anymore as I have enough, but for those who do, you're going to have some fun shopping.

Tell me about it. I've got 8-odd items for under $3.50 in my cart right now. It's great! The fact that there's even a good cut on Genesis and Genesis 2 items is pretty sweet as well.

I think the releases today, are suspiciously spartan, well more conspicuous by their absence.

And yet, it's nice to have a breather between new release days... It wasn't that long ago, less than two years, when the new releases came every other day when there wasn't a sales event going on. And I've read somewhere, (probably in this thread!) where the new releases came once a week.

A few of the March-May sales were awesome, and helped me build up my Daz library quite nicely.

I did grab V8 (mainly because the V6 and V7 bundles were included, already had V5), but yeah, thanks to the screamin' deals earlier this year, the last few sales haven't moved me.  While I'm sure G8 is awesome, I can wait for better G8 deals later.

The weekend sale discount on PC+ club items for pre-Genesis stuff looks nice though, but you need to put those in your cart to see the price drop.  For example, it drops the $1.99 stuff to 40 cents.  We had similar discounts last month as I remember, so I already grabbed what I wanted then. If you missed out on the earlier sales, though, definitely worth a look at least!

I could use a break too. Every 'old stuff' sale works me over. I don't even understand how at this point. I have combed those lists so many times, yet I STILL very old stuff I want.

I'm waiting for that I Bot Nurse and Charger.

Gah, 90 minutes of throwing everything in the cart and throwing them out again, and I still have over a hundred items and slightly under $180 worth of stuff in the cart. Going to be a long evening.

Shopping cart jenga for the win! I bought 25 items earlier for $12. I think I am finally set on old stuff. Man, I must have half the old stuff out there, LOL

Sorry to break it to you, but this will probably go on for a while, LOL. I've been picking up old stuff for at least a year. I think I finally may have enough! Woohoo!

I find that just not looking at the sales too closely, focusing at using a good chunk of the stuff I just bought, helps...March/April/May were quite busy fore me with all of those cheap deals, and really distracted me from my rendering...

    laugh

I'm sure I'll miss a screaming deal or two, but at this point I"m relying on the Daz Deals emails.

One thing that I've noticed lately is that the best deals are often 'just' the 70% off fast grabs (if those interested you), at least up to this weekend sale anyways...

So, with the horse blinders on, and using my WWF voice:

    Lets get ready to RRRRREEENNNDDDEEERRRRRR!

The zombie Castle Dance Party discounts don't appear to work as advertised, 30% off increasing to 40% for new releases is okay and the basic discounts on the featured artists and featured items are okay but the additional discounts for buying a new item is not being added for all items. See screenshot below:

First two items are new & show 40% as advertised.

Dead Fred is in the Featured item section & should be 70% off with the new items above.

MTT Sportcar is in the 'Selected Items' for Featured artist and should be 40% of 40% off price, 36% of full price (-64%) and is correct.

Girl 7 Beauty Poses is in the 'Selected Items' for Featured artist and should be 40% of 40% off price, 36% of full price (-64%) and is incorrect.

Does not look like it at the moment, the Featured Items now have 70% off but 'Select Items' subset still are a bit hit or miss.

But having a closer look it might be that some of those items should not be in the selection, the pose set is by Muscleman, who is not a featured artist for today's sale, so it might actually be an error with the items tagged for the sale rather than the sale %off.

  • ChoholeChohole Posts: 33,604

Which would explain why I couldn 't find a link to the pose set.

  • KinichKinich Posts: 941

It looks like there is a whole load of Muscleman pose sets in the 'Selected Items' category, that maybe should not be there, or maybe not Artimde Poses for Centaur 7 Female is by Muscleman but he does not appear as a featured artist at the bottom of the page. He is though featured in the Many Faces of Genesis 8 promotion, hence the 40% off, but not linked in today's sale, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I'm also a little confused by the "Select Items" section. Muscleman items are included, but they don't discount in the cart the way they should. When you look at the zombie castle page, Muscleman is not one of the featured artists so you'd think his stuff would be in there by mistake and that's why it's not discounting.... however, Muscleman does have a new item out today, which is almost always when they are shown as featured vendors. So it looks like maybe Muscleman should be a featured catalog,.. or.... not? I have no idea. frown

  • Yep, went nuts again with all the G2 items on sale this weekend.  Nice to get such great prices on items in duf format.  Some even had iray textures included.  Overspent by a lot...even after all my shopping cart Jenga. But, I did get 107 items, including several Pro Bundles, for $149.  There were quite a few pose sets in there that look good as well.  Now, I just need to get to work and really get those renders going!

My advice to anyone else shopping the G2 sale, is to list items low to high, then pick out all the PC+ items you think you'll want.  Those will be the best deals if you are a PC+ member.  Then, add whatever else to your cart that you can budget.  I tried to keep my max for a single item at $2 in cart (this worked MOST of the time), and limited bundles to those that had a lot of items that I wanted and didn't already own.  Gianni 6 and Nineva 6 proved to be the best deals for me.

It'll take a bit of extra effort to convert all this stuff for use with G3 and G8.  But, I think it will be worth it.  I already have GenX2 and G2-G3 Pose Convertor.  Even so, I limited my character purchases to just a few.  Everything else are outfits, hair, and poses.  Hopefully, out of all of this, Vicky willl be able to find something to wear in her closet. ;)

I already know what's going to happen now...I'm going to have a hellacious amount of G3 and G8 items to buy before year's end.

  • Ack! My PC+ membership got to the end without me noticing and renewed at full price.  Can that be refunded? (If I'm doing full price I'd rather do a 3-month and hope for a sale than buy a full year)

PC+ memberships are non-refundable. That said you could nicely ask customer service anyway. They may be able to help ypu, although they are under no obligation to do so

  • Ok, I'll see what they're willing to do for me.

  • No luck, oh well.

Crazy isn't it?  When I first got Daz and bought my first character, Ysabeau for G2F, I spent hours and hours rendering.  Now that I have tons of content to play with, I always seem to need more and do far fewer renders.

There comes a point when you realize that your hobby isn't actually making 3D art any more; it's shopping online for content.

That seems to be their business model. I kind of have a nostalgia for the days when I was using DieTrying's morphs to create my own characters and using various free content to kitbash my own scenes, backgrounds, clothing... and I had no idea what Generation 3, Generation 4, Genesis 1, 2 and 3 were... or the differences between DAZ and Poser only content versus Poser content that would work in DAZ, so I would download free content and some of it would work and others wouldn't and I had no idea why...

Now I think I spend most of my time trying to make content from some earlier generation port to some later generation so I can justify how I've saved money and don't need to buy even NEWER content. :)

But it sure cost a lot of money to get to this point.

I just bought a Prime membership. My DAZ purchases have been slowing down - and if a screaming $15/year deal for PC+ doesn't come along soon, my membership will probably lapse here.
