Not that I'm expecting the membership at the other place to really be as rewarding as the PC+ membership has been here. I've been very pleased with the DAZ market over the last year or so.

The Best of the Best would be a great sale if we could combine catagories o get the 70% discount. But no such luck. You haavve to 3 ormore items from a single catagory and that only gives a 70% discount within that catagory.

Still not a bad sale and I may find afew items to get.

If DAZ had waited until Friday for this new Best of the Best sale, I would have spent a ton of money. Unfortunately I only have 72 cents in my bank account until Friday. I guess I should thank DAZ for saving me money?

Doesn't work right. Put Luxus for Carrara and Luxus for Carrara Ressource pack in my cart, just 40% both.

  • I'm kinda "Meh," on today's deals.  There are some decent stacking sales of PC+ items.  But, other sale items are generally slightly higher in price than recent months.  Out of all of it, I'm finding the HDRI environments to be the most interesting.  But, I've seen those recently on sale for less as well.

Wow, this sale is awesome! Too good actually, selecting what to keep will take the most time... :D

Apparently they either totally hate the "shopping cart jenga" or they they think it's HILARIOUS....

LOL i was wondering the same thing! whether they are all sitting back there laughing at us shopping cart jenga people or not. Heh.

Was a bit of a shock to the system to realize that, that you have to have 3 items from the one category to get the discount and not mix them....uh, not really impressed wiht that.

It makes decisions easier for me. No three items from a category? Skip to the next one. :)

There were two light sets and two clothing items that I've been wanting....but decision was made easier by me NOT buying anything and instead going to another store to get what I wanted. :)

funds can get tight on a fortnightly budget - there are times where I have to choose whether to shop at daz, or shop at the other store, or shop at the other other store :D This fortnight I'm shopping at the other store, and keeping a few dollars to see what the PC items will be tomorrow. And then my shopping is done for the fortnight :D If the discount went across all the categories, then I would have done my budget here today.

Exactly. Followed by "I can only afford one category - out goes everything else until the next sale"

Agreed,  I'm not going to waste my time looking at 13 different categories...

If you have items wishlisted, then it doesn't take long to look through just those items. You just have to look through the cart page in the end to see if there's anything below 70%, and throw those out for now.

Yeah, the Daz sales team really over-complicated this sale.  Too many categories, and you need 3 in a category to get the decent discount.  If you want stuff from 2-3 categories, yeah.... not doing that.  And the 'in cart' prices aren't low enough to get me to jump - the March-May sales had better deals in many cases I think.  I suspect that there will be better deals as G8 moves into the mainstream, so I'll wait for better deals on the older stuff.

I may be missing some discount stacking (i.e. combining with the other sales going on righ now), but I already jumped on the V8 bundle deal, so I'm actually good with what I have for now.

Yep, went nuts again with all the G2 items on sale this weekend.  Nice to get such great prices on items in duf format.  Some even had iray textures included.  Overspent by a lot...even after all my shopping cart Jenga. But, I did get 107 items, including several Pro Bundles, for $149.  There were quite a few pose sets in there that look good as well.  Now, I just need to get to work and really get those renders going!

My advice to anyone else shopping the G2 sale, is to list items low to high, then pick out all the PC+ items you think you'll want.  Those will be the best deals if you are a PC+ member.  Then, add whatever else to your cart that you can budget.  I tried to keep my max for a single item at $2 in cart (this worked MOST of the time), and limited bundles to those that had a lot of items that I wanted and didn't already own.  Gianni 6 and Nineva 6 proved to be the best deals for me.

It'll take a bit of extra effort to convert all this stuff for use with G3 and G8.  But, I think it will be worth it.  I already have GenX2 and G2-G3 Pose Convertor.  Even so, I limited my character purchases to just a few.  Everything else are outfits, hair, and poses.  Hopefully, out of all of this, Vicky willl be able to find something to wear in her closet. ;)

I already know what's going to happen now...I'm going to have a hellacious amount of G3 and G8 items to buy before year's end.

    ... Never happens!

    cheeky

Crazy isn't it?  When I first got Daz and bought my first character, Ysabeau for G2F, I spent hours and hours rendering.  Now that I have tons of content to play with, I always seem to need more and do far fewer renders.

    Indeed.

I tend to do more rendering most of the time than shopping; it's a matter of accepting that you'll not get what you want to render by buying... unless you want to reproduce what someone else has done. To my mind, that is only good for learning.

Also, the software category only has a max 50% discount. FaceGen Pro at $69 is a good deal, don't get me wrong... but it isn't as low as the $54 it was at for a few minutes that I still regret not jumping on a few months back. Bryce Pro discounts to $6.99, or 65%, for some reason though - so some content may stack. I'm waiting to see what Black Friday/Cyber Monday brings for FaceGen Pro.

The most interesting category seems to be hair, to me. Otherwise, I agree with the sentiment above. This is another ho-hum sale in a string of ho-hum sales.

I'm staying out of the store today. I have so much already, and my bank account says, "No!"

There comes a point when you realize that your hobby isn't actually making 3D art any more; it's shopping online for content.

I was going to goof and say that THREE items per category is a lot to restrict- especially when it's all BEST Sellers!

That pretty much means, I already grabbed all the good stuff.

Damn, but does Daz reward the new!

It would be AWESOME and just arriving all over again.

Starting with Gen 3 and buying all that stuff plus a few MUST BUYS like wear them all, etc....

BUT Several categories do have those ATI-powered wish-listed items.

Now I got a bunch of questions about them....here we go, time to make a bunch of pre-buy threads.

I am in the opposite situation from the rest of you. I found three things in one category and five in another, but I have no money until Friday. Oh well, lol.

I'm with Nath and Ati. I found it much easier to skim through the 5-6 categories that interested me, pick out 3-5 things each, then trim the fat from my cart category by category. Much better than "100 items of content in the cart, 100 items of content! Take one out, watch the cart change, 99 items of content in the cart!" (To the tune of "One hundred bottles of beer on the wall").

Also, having passed on the V8 sale, I'm not *quite* as short on Daz funds as I usually am this time of month.

Agreed, this is a sweet sale for me. I have over 29 wishlisted items in the various categories. This is like mega A-list item fastgrab since most everything comes out to 70% off or more if you have three items.

I am going to be broke after today with this sale and the 50% off sale at rendo also on the VWD dynamic plugin

Anyone know if FaceGen Artist Pro will be supporting Genesis 8 in the near future? I want to get it on sale, but need to use it with G8 also.

  • I'm quite happy that some rare items I've had in my wishlist a long time are finally on sale... but there's only one thing in the category, so.... no sale on those today.

But there's some other categories that I've got plenty in.  I'm not a fan of how the DAZ-MATH is functioning on the title characters (Darius 7, Mei Lin 7, etc) but I guess it's correct. (30% off of 70% off is ~79% off...

I don't know what their plans are, but I have had good luck with using the transfer utility tool and Sickleyield's "favorite a morph dial and then use the transfer favorites option" trick to bring facegen-created dials over to G8. They *look* very different on G8 because the base face shape is different, but they're there.

I experienced the same thing with the demo. Had to use GenX to bring over the G2F face to G3F to get the morph to look right. Thanks for the info, been wanting this for awhile and a fair deal at 50% off.

Hmm, that category restriction is nothing nice for power shoppers. Available characters: 0 of 31. Available Morphs: 5 of 42. Sure, there are still lots of lights and shaders I don't own. But being shown what crazy pile of content I already have purchased I better skip that one and wait for the - hopefully heavy discounted - G8F updates from Zev0 and Thorne.

Well discounts are maxing out at %50 for me today promotions. I'm almost glad it's glitching because I was going to load up on the %70 off. I thank the cart gremlins!
