I tried Redz method of transferring morphs but have issues with the hands on Bethany7, Karen7 and Lilith7. Can anyone alse confirm?

Were you using the updated tutorial? It handles the hands much better. There's a link in the morphs thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2548461#Comment_2548461

Thanks - I may have missed that - I've just downloaded your new file so I'll give it a go and report back.

After testing Victoria 8 for a day, I have to conclude that there really isn't enough difference between her and Victoria 7 for V8 to be called V8. More like V7.3.

We gain HD expressions. Way cool. We gain geografted eyelashes. Okay. Why? We gain a base figure who is three inches taller than V6 and V7. Isn't 5'11" tall enough? We gain a figure with a masculine face and one hell of an ugly mouth. Well, I fought V7's ugly mouth, but I don't want to do it again. We gain a more primitive mesh that is even further removed from natural human topology than V7.

    And I can't convert my custom V7 characters to V8 without major effort. A 22 year old V7 looks 40 in V8.

So, I dropped $40 on an experiment. It was money well spent, really. It told me to wait for Victoria 9. Hey, I bought a Hyundai in 1986! I'm 6'4". You do the math on that. I've spent more on less.

Where to start with untangling this. Oy! First, V8 is a definite step forward and more than worthy of it's own figure line. The bends are much better, muscles follow the pose shape better, skin texture improvement, anatomy improvment, the skin actually moves with the expressions, improved eyes, nails, and feet, etc.

Second, converting characters from V7 to V8 is suprisingly easy. Redz has a tutorial on how to do it and made a post on how to do it here on the forum - and it's pretty fast and painless.

Third, "masculine face and one hell of an ugly mouth" I totally disagree. I think she's quite lovely and a lot more realistic looking than some of the past Victorias which trend to have unnaturally large eyes and faces that are too artificial looking. We still have a ways to go to hit total photo-realism, of course, but V8 is definitely a step forward.

Really, Diva? I'm with Nathanomir on this one. I think there is a stiking resemblance between a certain Ms Versace and V8 at least before the cosmetic surgery (see attached pic). However, I accept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless, I think that the majority of people would agree that V8 has a significantly masculine face structure.

No idea who Donatella Versace is (I assume one of the people who design the clothes of that name) but wow, I'd be hard put to find a person with a long, angular face and a vaguely similar skin tone who looked *less* like V8. And I'm not one who thought V8 was all that attractive. (not *hideous* certainly, just not particularly attractive. Like the hypothetical sister of Rene Russo who wasn't pretty enough to make it in the movies or something.)

I had that problem with Bethany and a couple of PA characters (maybe Priya) but switching to the joint editor tool, right clicking on the character and selecting "Adjust rigging to shape", and then saving out the morph asset seemed to fix it. If you pose the character to see if there are joint problems, be sure to zero her before adjusting rigging to shape and saving the morph asset!

I have created some new morphs and they all look great - and the previous morphs are now mysteriously behaving better than they were.  I thought that I would try using your new file and re-do the existing morphs, but when I use Morph Loader Pro, it says that I already have morphs of that name. I don't want to have two sets of morphs that essentially do the same, but with one better than the other, so is there a way to delete the existing morphs, or update them with the new OBJ file?  I tried deleting the existing parameters but when I re-opened Daz Studio, they were still there.

Edit:  It's OK, I found the answer - Delete Selected Parameter, let's say Bethany, and then use Morph Loader Pro to load the new Bethany.OBJ, without saving in between. Go through the Adjust Rigging to Shape and Freeze ERC steps and then save the morphs and the older one is overwritten - hooray! And yes, even for those that worked OK before, they are even better now.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us all!

I absolutely loathe baked beans. It's like little fat maggots squishing between my teeth. My go-to "utterly broke, but need to eat" is generally bananas on toast - but I often get funny looks when I mention that, so I substitute "baked beans" as they seem to be a universal food item. laugh And I don't think we have ramen noodles over here, but they are possibly similar to the Maggi's Two Minute Noodles which are dirt cheap, but I can't abide them LOL.

Oh and welcome to the "I need that new shiny thing, but I'm tight on my budget so can't buy it...but I CAN eat baked beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next two weeks, so I'll buy it anyway" club. :)

    jakiblue...

I resent your implication that I must eat only baked beans. I will have you know I have over 40 ways to make ramen noodles for 3 meals a day too. :)

Peanut butter & jelly for me... and I ran out this weekend.  Got very creative with some pasta and leftovers.  Maybe I'll spring for groceries tomorrow, if I haven't spent all my grocery money on content.

If you want to delete a morph you created, they are in My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\[the name you saved the morphs under]\[the name you gave the morph]\[the morph.dsf]

Me, I'd rather delete them and start over than assume they've been overwritten. LOL.

Oh, I am so there right now. Family members are asking why the sudden change in diet. Really don't want to admit it's because we have a V8, LOL

To me, this (G3 character as G8) would have been the perfect V8. A nice generically pretty girl that you can use morphs on to change how you wish. V7 is drop-dead gorgeous but always looks like V7, no matter what you do to her and V8, I'm sorry, is just unattractive to me and also has such distinct features they would be hard to change drastically. Originally, Victoria 1,2,3,4 were what Genesis is now. A sort of blank slate to add morphs to. Then they gave Victoria a more distinct  look with Genesis. I think G1Female should have been Victoria 5, G2 Female V6, etc... It would have dispensed with the confusion of the numbering and the actual Victoria characters that we have now could have been named something else as specific characters like Karen, Lilith, Rune, whoever... I was excited to get V7 because she was so gorgeous, but rarely use her because she is so recognizable. Same problem I think with V8. She has a weird nose, face and body to me and I think there is confusion when people talk about the great new capabilities of V8, they really mean G8 because V8 is just a character...  Just got the G8 morphs but I don't see ever getting V8 unless free and don't see what all the hype is about her and I wish all the sales weren't based on owning her.  I already see PA characters that look much better to me and I'm sure there will be tons more to come...

I think what everyone is forgetting is that Victoria in the Genesis 2+ versions have become no more than just another character. We're used to Victoria 4 being the BASE for everything and that is no longer the case. Victoria X is now just another in a long line of characters...there's bound to be some that are more well received than others. If Victoria isn't your cup of tea, maybe Eva 8 will be, or Olympia 8 or WeDon'tKnowHerNameYet 8 ;) Genesis base figure IS the plain one now, not the characters.

Edited to add that it's in the top menu: Windows/Panes/PowerPose. Clicking on the face shape will bring up those points, as well as a multicoloured face shape. Click on the multicoloured face shape for even more control points.

Edited again to un-typo the word 'edited'!

I'm rendering now so can't confirm, but there should be a small face shape just above that full body shape, to the left of it. Click on the face shape to get to the screen with the face control points.

Yes thank you - I updated and found it. I love it!

Sadly though, the update seams to have broken something. Now none of the G8F content is showing up under "Smart Content".

It's funny you should say that, because the same thing happened to me. I just put it down to something I must have unknowingly done and forgot about it once I'd sorted it. I think the cure was to uninstall the G8 content via DIM and then immediately reinstall it the same way. All has been fine since then.

Is anyone else having slow G8 render times?  The attached render took nearly 20 min with only IG's Photo Studio Point And Shoot Lights, V8, Icie Hair and OOT's Button Up 2 outfit.

I had to take a stab at the guy thing, especially when I figured out that I could use SkinBuilder3 to create skins for Genesis 3 Male.  So here's my Genesis 8 (fe)Male.  He's just a bunch of morphs using the basic G8F morphs here and  I found another morph pack over at Rendo. Idt has some more sizing morphs and creature/fae type morphs.  But to get his skin right, I spent quite a bit of time with Photoshop and the Warp Brush, basically pushing parts into place where the G3M UVs differ from G8F.
