Jazzy Bear, when I get weirdness like that, I zero the pose and "adjust rigging to shape," that always fixes it. No idea if it'll work with V8, but my guess is it will.

Thanks... I am sure it will.

I was reminded this is a clone and not a true shape anyway.

It was about 2AM or 3AM when I forst did that so the brain wasn't too clear. I was just excited the clones were included with the Gen8 essentials!

So what is this hair on Victoria 8? I thought it would be in the pro bundle but it doesn't seem like the same ponytail

Is there a "mouth realism" morph that defaults to on like with G3?

There is a "mouth realism" morph, but as far as I can tell it stays off until you slide the morph slider?

There's a Mouth Realism morph, and also an Eye Rim morph, both HD, and both defaulting to zero value. Those seem to be the only HD morphs that come with the base G8.

Whoops, not quite, the base expression morphs are now HD as well.

I like V8.  Everything I've tried for G3 will work on her except the character shapes.  Is there any way to get a G3 character shape to transfer over to V8?

    Any advice appreciated. :-)

First try transfering a G3F morph to G8F using the manual method that was described here on the forum when G3 first came out.

This is Monique 7. I think she turned out quite well for a first attempt, just a little kinking at the ends of the fingernails.

She'd look better if I'd remembered to put her lashes back on. This is the original thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/24093/ If I have time tomorrow I may try to write up a quickie updated  tutorial. I can share my helper poses/shapes but not I should think,  the G8 mesh itself that''s used to make the morphs from G3.

    Here's Mei Lin on G8F

Redz this is fantastic, How are you doing this because I can't seem to find the method you referenced in the thread you linked. I am quite on the fence because I have beautiful V7 characters and like most don't want to start all over again, I would invest in V8 if some of my character morphs can be used on her.

This is the method I used, slower but I've found it better than the transfer utility for body morphs especially, though the nails are still a little off

    Tutorial and helper scene/morphs included

    Cayman Legacy UV's

This product uses geografts and they will not work on G8F because she has different mesh (thow shoulders and thighs are topologically the same except different default pose).

I must be doing something wrong...morph dials are showing up but they don't do anything.

    ETA: never mind, working now.

Has anyone figured out how to transfer legacy morphs like V4/A4 to G8?

Thanks for the info. :-)  I can't get anything character-shape wise to work though.  I checked the number of polygons, and G3F and G8F do not have an identical poly count.  No big deal.  I still like V8.

SickleYield's tutorial seemed to work for me once I selected "favorites and subcomponents" instead of "favorites." Didn't have time to test it extensively before leaving for work though.

Has anyone figured out how to transfer legacy morphs like V4/A4 to G8?

If I were trying that, I would see about transferring them to Genesis 1, 2 or 3 first and then transferring the result to G8.

I messed up this morning on my V8 purchase and neglected to add V5 and V6 pro to my cart before hitting checkout - got confused and thought I had them already - only have V7 Pro - I really shouldn't shop until after my morning two cups of coffee... Meh, I already have most of both bundles that I really wanted - but still annoyed at myself...

I did not add v5 and v6 pro bundle for same reason. thought i bought them already ????

they were manually added to my library by Daz without my asking this morning.  Thank you Daz.

and i did get a bonus 10% on everything for buying a previous Victoria pro bundle.

    so check your product library.

Thanks. I have done SickleYield's tutorial successfully (thanks @SickleYield) and I will try yours to. There always seem to be exceptions to these things and knowing more than one one to do this might be helpful in those exception cases.

I want to hate Genesis 8 but since its backwards compatible to my Genesis 3 skins, all those really great skins I invested in are still usable... all is not lost.  I can have my cake and eat it

too.. O.K.  So of course Victoria comes out with her all too familiar perfect skin blandness that says she's been sheltered in a dark closet all her life... her skin is almost literally a blank canvas... that beings said, I do like what I see.  I figure I'll have to wait a few months to see a character with more color varations in the skin but so far...  I love her and I love that somebody was listening to me and made a new set a wings to go with this angel.

Alright... I love how the lighting reacts to her.. whatever you've done to the skin to make it react so perfectly to light.. with all that sub-surface stuff going on.. Wow.. great job.  I love all the new articulations.. Yes, it does look that much more real.. we're not just fooling ourselves... I didn't want to but I have to love her and save up for the eventual release of the male version... You got me but make a skin with some real variations please.

It's not just an A pose, the legs are spread apart too. What a nightmare that's gonna be for creating shoes. Is there a pose available where her feet are flat on the ground? (For the base figure)

I can understand how having an A-pose for the upper body might be an improvement for fitting clothes, but why do it for the legs?    I mean, come on, the feet for Genesis 8 aren't even flat on the floor.  IMHO, shoes should be fitted flat, not at an angle.  Why not have both, A-pose legs and flat feet?

It probably has something to do with maintaining straight lines, from the hip to the foot, so having both might be an unnecessary complication for fitting footwear like long boots.

So I ran transfer utility to transfer a morph from Karen 7 to Victoria 8 it seem to be stuck at 22%. I went and took a nap for a couple hours and came back. It seems I was successful when I came back, so I tried it again. It takes 20 minutes for transfer utility to work. You have to search for the dials.

Two issues I've noticed right now. First the process takes a long time and second the arms are exploding when using poses. In addition the toes look strange.
