OMG, what a week to be away! You missed a DAZ Studio update and the Genesis 8 launch. V8 is here too!
You can do a LOT with G8, which is free. The head morphs and the expressions are the most useful if you need to narrow it down. Though you could go with just the head morphs and bring a lot of characters over, then pose with the new PowerPose updates. It's amazing what you can do with just the free items DAZ released this week.
I have the full V5 pro pack and 99% of V6 and V7 pro pack items bought separately so no incentive to get those free. I'm playing with the free version of G8 now, she's OK, but if I don't get any special discounts, not really worth purchasing add ons. Was going to get the morphs, but it doesn't seem like there's an iris size morph, and the very first thing I do is make the irises bigger, so may skip this whole generation. On the fence... If I had a decent discount, I may have gone for it.
I just posted in this thread a couple of days ago about finally getting V7 and M7 pro bundles and terradome 3 for 117.00. So if I had purchase V8 I would have gotten V5,V6 and V7 pro bundles for free. I would still have wanted M7 and the terradome products. I am feeling a little down about this. I mean I could have had more for my dollars if I had waited a couple of days.
You can return products for a refund within 30 days of purchase, if you choose to. Just submit a help request. Then you can repurchase at the new lower price.

Well after writing out what I wanted to do I had a quick look back at the M7 pro bundle and it has gone back up since I purchased it. I got it for 48.00 along with V7 pro bundle. I don't think I will come out ahead here and was happy with what I got so I am just going to wait until the next sale. TerraDome 3 was on sale too so even if I don't get V8 this time around I did pretty well.
Thanks for sharing details of how to copy morphs and the free pose converter. Please can you let me know if morphs can be copied to free G8 or if I need to buy head and body morphs packs too? I assume you don't have to buy any extras to use G3 skins.
This has been my first time to really look. With the discounts and the coupon, I can get V8 Pro for under $50 right now - but I'm just not feeling it. I wish I was at home so I could download Genesis 8 and play around with that a little and see if it impresses me - but that isn't working out for me. I guess it just isn't meant to be for me, right now. There is always another sale.
Is it just me or does the Victoria 8 Pro Bundle seem a little thin compared to pro bundles in the past?

After testing the results of Sickleyield's methods and Redz's, the Redz method worked better for me, but maybe that's because I don't know what I'm doing. :)
I really like Redz method. It works well, and I've transferred about 30 of my favorite G3Fs over. I had some legacy morphs that came over well too- many of the G2Fs. I'm interested in seeing how they look and pose on G8. Not sure if I can get their skins over though. I know there are other ways, but I love Cayman's UV products because you don't have to mess with the original skin. I couldn't get the UV products working right on G8 yesterday. Hopefully they'll be a new version out soon. Love that tool!
Well, checking all my generation 7 pro bundles, there are 12 items each: 1 Base 7 figure, 2 characters, 2 hairs, 2 pose sets and 4 wardrobe items and the anatomical elements.
The Victoria 8 Pro Bundle has 13 items: 1 Base 7 figure, 2 characters, 2 hairs, 2 pose sets and 5 wardrobe items and the anatomical elements. From the product page for the bundle:
Pro bundles have been 11-12 items for figures some time now.
Just did some rummaging around in my recently bought morphs and expressions, and there's definitely an Iris Size dial, along with all the other ones from the G3 morphs.
Some definite differences, though, all IMHO positive — the expression morphs are all now HD, and some of them look very nice; more other HD face morphs in addition to the ones from G3; and all the morphs in G3 defaulted at 100% are now 0%.
Beware of the Smile morphs, though, some of them when pushed to 100% look like she's about to lunge out of the screen and bite off your face/throat/favourite anatomical element...
I can't believe there's no bundle price for the head & body morphs and expressions for G8. I mean, if you're going to get one, you want them all. Ridiculous.
They didn't bundle the morphs for G3F or G3M, either. But I do agree with you...
Soooo, the Genesis 8 and the new Vic 8 sale today look very interesting, until I start browsing through products. There's some cool stuff there to be sure, but nothing that I personally feel the need to jump on. Maybe the last few sales have spoiled me (March Madness, etc.) but I'm finding that even $3-4 per item is often too high for my tastes thanks to those previous sales.
Admittedly, I may be waiting a LONG time for some of the newer items to see cheaper prices, but yeah...
Plus I grabbed a lot of the stuff I wanted already in the previous sales, so at this point, except for a few utilities, and special fx related props, my wishlist is more of a 'well if it's on sale for real cheap, maybe' list. I have like 130+ hairstyles at this point... there are others that intrigue me, but again they aren't burning wants at the moment.
I was hoping for a new gift card discount this weekend, but it doesn't look like that's happening. My current gift card credit (bought at 15% off) is on it's last legs, and won't quite cover the V8 bundles...
Maybe something will pique my interest on Sunday!
Not ridiculous from DAZ's standpoint. If most people will buy them anyway, why discount?
I've asked if I can get credit for owning the V5 and M5 Pro Bundles, as I've bought most of the content over time, plus I bought Carrara Pro, which includes the V5 and M5 Pro Bundles. It would seem logical that if you bought all the content, you could get credit for buying the bundle. We'll see what they say.
Maybe V5 but I doubt you would get credit for owning M5 since the discounts were based only on the Victoria Pro Bundles.

I decided to send in a help ticket as well. I simply asked for credit for V7 pro bundle so I could purchase V8 and get all the free stuff. I hope they can work something out. If they credit me just for V7 pro bundle and not the other stuff that will give me back 48.00 V8 pro bundle is showing at 66.00 right now. I hope that if I get a credit for V7 that V8 doesn't jump in price. Does anyone think that will be the case?
It's pretty typical for any DAZ figure release to hold the intro price/discount for two weeks. The other discounts, however, will go away when the sales page for that day comes down. Unless the banner/sales page specifies an end date, it is also typical for a sale to remain active for 6 days.

If you have the funds available, you could purchase V8 pro bundle now, with V5, V6, and V7 pro bundles in your cart (for free) at the same time. That would lock in the sale price on V8 and the freebies offer. Then you could return your previously purchased V7 pro for a refund, as long as 30 days have not passed. Since it is the weekend, customer service will probably not get back to you on your existing ticket until Monday at the earliest. Who knows whether the current sale will still be on after Monday. I'd jump on it now if you can possibly afford it.

Done although V7 would not go into my cart since I just purchased her. Got V8 now and V5 and V6 pro bundles were free. Now when I ask for the refund for V7 just hope I will still get her for free. I would save that 48.00 to grab M8 which will probably be out soon.
I sent in a ticket because I didn't get any extra discount on anything. I have V5 full pro bundle and 99% of V6 and V7 pro bundles with items purchased individually so no advantage to getting those free with purchase, I'm only missing a couple of items that I never wanted. I really just wanted the G8 morphs/expressions and PA eyelash thing because the eyelashes are almost invisible. But I'm still not sold on the advantages of G8. So far I haven't seen a single render that was any better than a good G3 render. I transferred a character over and it took about 20 minutes and I could have just rendered the original character.
I just don't get it! What am I missing? What is so great about G8??? Maybe it's because I have every merchant resource morph there is for G3 and a zillion characters for the gene pool. Maybe I invested too much into G3 but I guess I'll wait and see if PAs do something spectacular with it that I don't already have for G3. I just hope they continue to make hair compatible with G3. To be honest, I feel like I just walked into some religious cult where everyone is praising some guru and there is nothing in the "religion" I haven't heard before. Maybe I'll become enlightened to the advantages of G8 eventually, but right now, I just don't see it.
If you already bought V8 pro you will may not get V7 pro free because it was supposed to be in the cart with V8 pro to be free. You could have included it with your purchase of V8 pro even though you had already purchased it. All you have to do is click on the red purchased button and it is added to your cart.
That said, customer service is usually pretty liberal and if you carefully explain the situation to them they may help you, although they are under no obligation to do so.

Yes, I believe that if you explain to customer service very clearly what the situation is, they will help you resolve this. They are really very nice and accommodating about helping customers resolve problems like this. Although, like Charlie Judge said, they are technically not obligated to do so, because you didn't actually have all the items in the cart at the same time. Give them a chance, and I bet they will please you.

They are usually quick about responding to requests like this. I would expect you to hear back from them a couple work days after you submit your request. They may be a bit swamped now, so it may take a bit longer.
