I've got the V5 & V7 pro bundles, so it's putting the V8 pro bundle at $66 for me. But the only thing in the bundle I'm interested in is maybe the ponytail, and only if there's a morph to get rid of the giant poof on top.
I'm gonna be light on spending for the next little while because of an unexpected expense, but yeah I've been really impressed with V8 so far. :)
Boy I can't wait for the Centuar bundles to go on deep discount. G3 stuff on deep discount here I come!! \*o*/
I love my centaurs. Not sure they will work at all with G8. That will not stop me from using them. They rock!
My strategy is to wait until G9/V9 comes out... and then think about investing in G8/V8... but I will not turn down any free G8/V8 content in the meantime!
With the deal today I got 3 pro packs for $60. That's $20 per pack. I'm willing to pay that much. :)
That wouldn't work for me. I got V5 Pro with Carrara, (so no 10% discount for that one,) I bought V6 Pro outright, (not sure just when, but it was on sale with a good discount,) and while I didn't buy V7 Pro, I have all but two of the products in that bundle. (And I've got the anatomical elements from one of the many other G3 figures I've picked up in the past two years.) So I only qualify for 10% off, don't need any of the free Pro bundles that come with, and I've only got $34 left for the rest of June!
I'm just going to enjoy the Genesis 8 line vicariously through you guys. (At least until my will power gives way, or I win the lottery, whichever comes first. lol)
I've often thought that there should be some sort of 'proportional' calculation for bundles that you already own some of the products in. Not necessarily 1 to 1, but that you'd at least get some sort of discount for already owning some of the items contained within, based on the value of the items you already own as compared to the total cost of the items in the bundle.. The Daz Deals plugin already shows me a 'cost per unowned item' in bundles, so this shouldn't be too difficult to do...

The default 40% off works. The extra 20% off for owning V8 works.
The extra 20% off on Gen2 compatible items does not seem to work. The extra 40% off Gen items does not seem to work.
Even if I add items from the Gen2 or Gen category, I end up with a 52% discount (40%+20%). They should be 61.6% off (40%+20%+20%) and 71.2% off (40%+20%+40%).
If I add a new item, then the correct discounts show up. However, it specifically says "no additional purchase necessary", so I shouldn't have to add a new item for this to work.
I've spent about $50 in the last three months - it (G4/8 / V8) was coming so I decided to wait and see if I wanted join the bandwagon, or get G3 items cheaper. :) So I have all that lovely credit.

Not for me, I have little use for the pro bundles. I use a 3rd party figure for the anatomical bits. I am also in no hurry to install another version of DS, so I'll be watching and waiting till I have to use the new DS and then I'll see about using G8
Have you seen the FREE G3F to G8F pose converter that DavidGB posted? It is a simple script that works very well. Quick, Easy, FREE.
Not yet. I'm extremely overwhelmed at this point. I'm about to start a new project, and I'm not sure if it should be G3 or G4... Logic suggests G4, but I need the older shapes, and I'm really-really struggling with getting them into G4 right now.
Haven't purchased anything yet, just some general feedback on the sale.
-THANK YOU for making G8F backward compatible with G3F base UVs. This means that if I got into G8F I could continue using Vyktoria's second-skin bodysuits on her, as well as Skin Builder 3. I also think I've figured out the tool for transferring morphs, so I now have a G8F with Bethany, Karen, Mika, Ophelia, Genevieve, a few favorite PA creations for G3F and my favorite Facegen creations brought over as well.
-Useful generic angel wings with default texture in black and an indirect Lucifer reference in the product name: Sorry, that theming makes it an automatic no-buy for me. I'm not saying the PA's are required to accomodate my beliefs, I'm just noting what cost them this particular sale of an otherwise useful and not especially expensive product.
-The Victoria 5 and 6 Pro bundle freebies aren't sweetening the deal that much for me; I already own the characters from the V5 set (Gabi and Tori, fine work from two PAs who don't work on DAZ products anymore); the poses aren't anything useful to me (even as Genesis 1 and 2 toys), and between the two I would get: four or five marginally useful hairstyles, two marginally useful minidresses, some useless bits of skimpwear, 2-3 fantasy outfits that need a second-skin layer underneath, and a cool looking fantasy armor that probably won't autofit well. And a couple of perfectly fine but nonessential characters for G2F, one of my least-used Daz figures.
-10% off V8 pro bundle for acquiring V7 Pro Bundle in the past: Thank you, nice gesture, pushes it down to about $59 with PC discount. That would be within my budget if I hadn't overspent last month. Pro bundle content is reasonably varied but nothing with that "MUST BUY" vibe for me. V8 herself...haven't cared that much about any of the Vickys as characters in themselves (as opposed to a platform for other characters), and this one's no different. I suspect this is one of those cases where the promo images make the skin and morph and morph look less attractive than they really are but it will be a while before I find out for myself. skip Part 1: Create a Single Dial, do the rest of it, but select "Favorites and Subcomponents" instead of "Favorites." At least, that version seemed to work, I only tested the results very briefly before work today.
Same here; I got a nice discount on the morphs and expressions, so that's all I'm buying for now. I can wait until some offer pops up for a not-out-yet G8 Pro Bundle like the ones that started me picking up the G3 base characters. And maybe there'll be nice goodies at PC+ prices, like there were for G3.
And maybe, who knows, the horse will learn to sing.

How did you get a discount on the morphs and expressions? That's what I want, but didn't get any special discount...
Normal intro discount, PC+ discount, and super secret message (because I still haven't seen the orange banner) discount. And that's my lot for G8, until I see something nice at PC+ prices — I think I'll use the same buying strategy I used when G3 first came out. Even with all the discounts, the V8 Pro Bundle is just a bit too much for my bank card.
I've spent several thousand dollars in the last year but got no secret banners or special prices. Bummed. I wanted to get the two morph packs and expressions but they are not even in a bundle and separately too expensive. Guess I will just stick to the free V8, I'm tapped out. I guess I'll keep them in my cart and if they don't go down, I'll send to wish list. I have enough content from previous generations. Not really fair that some are getting discounts and not others.
This one didn't have anything to do with how much you spent. Instead it was how many Victoria Pro Bundles you previously bought.
There is a lot of variety in the special discounts Daz offers from time to time. Sometimes you fall into the lucky group, sometimes you don't.
I've been patiently waiting for the Carrara Pro users to get a little extra love for the V8 introductory sale. It's been a day and a half now, so we probably aren't going to get credit for our V5 pro packages for all intents and purposes (in everything except in name), which after all was one thing that convinced me to purchase the Carrara Pro package in the first place, and not just the basic Carrara package. I'm not optimistic at this point, but there are a LOT of loyal Carrara Pro users here that might appreciate the gesture, seeing that Carrara is beginning to seem more and more like the unloved red headed stepchild of Daz...
Daz could issue a coupon to the Carrara Pro users after the fact (for those that already bought V8 pro), that would also be a nice gesture. Just a thought!
