I give up...if this sale is here tomorrow, I may try again...but this is just too much for my weary brain atm. ;-P

The DAZ developer licenses are 79% off. Seriously considering getting the commercial one.

Same here, if logged IN. But get this; if I log OUT I see the new day 6 items.

the email newsletter just came through, can get to new sale page via the link in that.

It's updated for me, now... and I'm logged in. wink

I've found that the can't-see-new-stuff glitch can be fixed by either clicking around the various rotating banner pages before returning to the Store front page, or hard-refreshing the page a few times. This seems to give the page cached in your browser a hard enough kick to make the newly added items visible.

And if that doesn't work... wait another hour.  <headdesk>

Damn, another new light set by Colm. Still not that happy with the overall Summer Sale mechanics though. I mean there are two new light sets from him now, #2 and #3. No buy X get Y option, no set or bundle, just 2x quite steep $17 after 30% discount. OK, there's the gift card option, but I'm still thinking whether I can justify. Have 5 new releases I'd like in my cart totaling $78. Difficult decision as I might get everything for under $50 if just waiting some weeks or maybe months.

I think I broke my buying muscle... I have three $.60 items sitting in the cart and I'm going 'meh, whatever'

Yeah, this is too much. Looks like increasing my wishlist is all these Daz sales are good for.

    I want that jacket

    https://www.daz3d.com/h-c-casual-b-for-genesis-3-male-s

But the pants and shoes are really average today-wear.

I also want the UFO crash site. That right up my alley.

NO DISCOUNT for buying TWO new releases or THREE.....

And those prices seem expensive to me. Maybe I'm wrong or spoiled.

That's $33 bucks in the cart, already.

This is not sustainable. I fold.

    - without the odler stuff being on deep dish, I'm a wrap.

I can't be a buy what's worth buying dazaholic or "gee, that'd be great to own" impulse shopper.

It's now all NEEDED FOR TODAY type purchases. crying

Forget fun puchases like the wheel or experimentation like the tutorial.

Just pointing out that, at least in my experience, ANY new releases other than freebies will trigger the additional discount for the pre-2013 Daz Originals sale (as well as the 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 portions of the Summer Sale).  Not just the 30% off ones.  I've used new PC+ items to trigger the discount, and this makes a great excuse to snag one or two of those.  I did use one 'new' item from Vanishing Point as well a couple of days back.

A fast way to see all of the new releases is to simply go to the main das3d.com/shop page.  The first few pages/several hundred items will be new releases, unless you choose another sort option.

    yep, LOL

    Every vendors dream post, LOL

In all seriousness, complaining about what you can or can't afford isn't going to change anything and makes vendors that try and price things so they get some kind of return on their investment, less motivated I am sure. Just try to vote with your wallet and keep an eye out for what you can afford....or try to make some of your own assets, I do. It gives me a better appreciation of what vendors do. If I was a vendor here and had the choice, my products would only go on sale during the annual PA sale and the introductory period.

Makes sense. If anything, I think Daz would be the ones to care.

  • donovancolbertdonovancolbert Posts: 1,421

I look at it this way...

Once the vendors make their investment in time and materials back on their products, any money they get from me after that is profit for them - and even if it isn't as much profit as they might WANT to get for their product, it is better than me simply not buying it at all because it is too expensive for me to consider it a good value. They're not LOSING money when I buy something for a fraction of what they normally price it at. They're making a sale they wouldn't have otherwise.

I appreciate the time and effort and craft and investment that goes into producing quality content. That doesn't change my position on what it takes to make me put their item in the cart and hit the checkout button, though.

Actually, I think I got this sale BACKWARDS.

It's probably best to forage through the older wears and build up a sizeable cart and THEN try to see what new thing you'll add to get a bigger discount on the older stuff(s). It almost doesn't matter what you get since the aim is the overall break- that also lowers the cost of the new item- when taken as a whole.

So either you're paying a descent penny for the old stuff and getting something shiny and new (like a spaceship or a jacket, ahem)

or getting something new with a bit of a discount and a wealth of older items on the cheap...

Depends on how you look at it.

I rarely buy on release now.

I buy eventually, a small percentage of what goes in wishlist.

Genesis 3 specific items (and others) need to be especially cheap. (The only exception was Skin Builder 3).

In the end I completed the Dreamhome and got a GC for next month's budget:) Not a terribly exciting sale but not bad, with some older DO's cleared off my wishlist over the week - I even bought something for Aiko 3.

I'll avoid any purchase until decent gift card are back and multiple new items with discounts and featured artist are properly linked with coherency and more resonably discounts

    Ati,

Trying to open the email that contained 'best prices in x months' info for the Pre 2013 stuff was painful for my browser.  I'm scared to even try to open the one for today, since all of the years would be included in that one...

I do appreciate the emails though.  Keep up the good work!

Fortunately, I feel pretty good about my purchases already, and spent a lot of time on Sunday working out my pre-2013 items purchases.

I just wish that there were better discounts on more of the character oriented bundles... 79% is fine, until you see that the bundles have been discounted more than that recently.  Ahh well, next sale maybe!

We've had some great sales over the last few months, so these items are mostly in the 1-2-month notifications. If you only enable the bigger timeframes, you'll have less products in the mail.

But we've had sales in the past that "broke" my notification (so many items included that it just wouldn't fit in a single email), and today's sale is not like that. (And I even have a "best in 1 week" for debugging purposes, that is not publicly available, so I get even more, and even that was fine.)

Finally bought the Dream Home and MOST of the accesories like furniture and room props, and took a big chunk out of my Wishlist. Hard to say no to $.60 items...

Which, I suppose... is kind of my point. I won't purchase new stuff at 30%, sometimes even at 50% off when a single piece of content at half price is still $15 or more...

But I'll buy a cartload of old stuff at $.60 when the list price is $19.99 and it has been at $2 for months. Sales I would not have put in my cart otherwise.

There were also some nice freebies during this sale.
