The following are based on a late TNG-era "battle suit" idea which I also made into a Service uniform.   I'm certain my designs can a bit too "aggressively militarized" for some, so the service uniforms can be used by ship crews in the Science or research divisions...

Uses TNG Divisional colors...Including a medical variant.  Still working on the V4 version.

(I'm using some different material settings which I might actually incorporate as a redo of my ST TOS uniforms)..

Looks great man. The texture looks good.

Thanks for the suggestions - it always amazes me how, as popular as Star Trek is, that it is so nearly impossible to find costumes that are created specifically and accurately for these characters and programs - so many ships, so few shirts ;).

I'd love to get Marvelous Designer and create TOS uniforms based on the original patterns.

I'm working on some, starting with the men's tunic. but not from original patterns. I have thought to do that for the female uniform. But the male was just a shirt so didn't think a screen accurate pattern was necessary. That said, the collar is a real pain and is still not right.

    looks good so far.

I thought it would be cool to try and recreate it as close to the original as possible. I played with trial version and it seemed liek you could replicate real life fabrics very well.

It's probably been asked before, but does anyone know where I could get a decent Klingon ridge morph for a female character. It would be great if it was G3F and/or G2F (I found them for V4)

Inspiration for a render slapped me in the face half an hour ago, but I'm not getting anywhere, especially where morphs are concerned. :( Maybe there haven't been updated morphs for the newer figures.

    Thanks for any help ^^

  • Playing around with a new conforming figure I made. It just screamed for an Andorian image to be made. Thoughts/comments?

Nice texturing and the antennae are nicely seamless.  (Did you "extrude" the geometry of the forehead?)  Given my age, 54, I was "indoctrinated' with the original series.  So I still expect to see the antennae rising from the back third of the scalp, having almost suction cup like "lobes" which, at the time, were assumed to be the Andorians' ears.  Basically, I'm an "old school" fart.  Still, very nice work!

  • Actually I took part of G2M's head and then added my antennae to it. And then I figured out how to add bones to it and make it a figure. Was quite a learning process to get the figure so that it would conform without losing the custom bones I added. I grew up with the TOS version of the Andorians too. I kind of like how they got reinterpretted during the Enterprise series run. Makes a bit more sense.

Given some of the bizarre redesigns starting with ST:TMP through Next Generation, what Enterprise depicted was the most reasonable concept and comparatively, closest to what Fred Phillips made for "Journey to Babel".

Anybody remember the "StarFleet Medical Manual" illustrated by Geoffrey Mandel?  It was released in 1977 or 78, before the first movie, It depicted the "deely bobs" as being the ears, even suggesting there were a couple of bones along their lengths and demonstrated what to do if one of them were dislocated (applying procedures normally relating to finger bones).

    Sincerely,

    Bill

  • Somehow I managed to miss it, but back then I was doing good to catch TOS in syndication.

I not only remember it, I still have it! smiley

Somehow I managed to miss it, but back then I was doing good to catch TOS in syndication.

It was released by Ballantine, the same company that published the "StarFleet Technical Manual" and the starship deck plans (consisting of 12 sheets that unfolded to be 30 inches wide)  Now that was a fun time to be a fan!  No one had released fictional data (at least of that depth) before that time.  It helped open the door for "in universe"  material for properties like Star Wars a few years later.  Today it's "par for the course"; but in the mid 70s, it was a novel concept.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

  • Yeah I got the Next Generation Technical Manual when it came out and loved it. Also got the blueprints to the Enterprise after TMP. Loved those fold-out sheets.

  • Somewhere I have the Enterprise-D Blueprints...

  • It's been a while since I have posted anything, but like any writer you still go through revisions before you prepare your final draft. Right now I finally have an idea  where I am going with it.

You're using Abrams' Bridge? I thought you were using the real Bridge.

  • Using both.

Story involves two different timelines. One threat

I like how you've used blur and noise in your renders. The right amount of imperfections to make it look believable.
