That bun was so huge and ugly, so not futuristic :P

    I thought this hair was closer http://www.daz3d.com/edwardian-hair-for-genesis-3-females ;

It's kind of sad though that both Opportunity and Curiosity are too far away to check out the ESA crash site and find out what happened.

Wait until next week, the orbiter that took the discovery picture (the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter, I think) will be looking again using its high-resolution camera.

And that photo has just been released (link to BBC News page) — it confirms the rear heat shield and parachute, which came down relatively gently; the front heat shield, which didn't (it splashed a bit in the sandy soil); and what seems to be a scorched crater where the lander's fuel tanks, which were still full, might have exploded.

FWIW, this is the same orbiter and the same camera that took photos of the various parts of the Curiosity rover's landing system, and found the failed Beagle 2 lander (it touched down safely, but the complicated unfolding sequence for the solar panels didn't work properly).

Sounds like their follow-up mission is definately going to be delayed.

"I've got blood down here," said ensign Evergreen.
"I'm getting some strange readings from the Transporter Room," said Commander Soras.
The doors burst open as an alien creature the likes of which neither had seen before burst forth from the transporter room and went for Commander Soras who desperately wished she hadn't opted for the tricorder.  These were not the small little creatures they'd heard about in the emergency broadcast...

Thats the set you modeled is it not?  If so, that turned out really well.  Lights well too.

Im assuming the "red mark" on the floor light is a reflection.

Thanks! Yep, that's the radial corridor section off the Transporter Room. :)

There's a red mark on one of the lights, a haphazardly thrown together blood trail texture that I need to spruce up if I'm going to use it in the future, but yeah there's a good deal of the red alert lights soaking up on the carpet that I didn't notice before.

OMG that's hilarious. I especially loved  "Team hold my beer, I got this" lol That and the write up of why the Borg can't handle humanity is equally hilarious.

  • What do you think guys? Does it look anywhere close to a younger Janeway?

PS - try to ignore the hair, I just cannot find that bob/bun!

It does very much look like a younger Janeway. Nice work!

  • Looks good. Now which figure is this for again?

For the "bun of steel" look try http://www.daz3d.com/edwardian-hair-for-genesis-and-genesis-2-females

Thanks. She has these cheek(or cheekbones) that I still cannot get to my liking though :/

I tired that, it looks very close to the Voyager version. It's just that, I really hate that bun! :D

But it's still my fallback plan.

  • Genesis 3? :(

  • Genesis 3? :(

Is it not good? This is just my first month or so working with Daz, so I just thought 3 is better than 2 :D

  • Biased opinion here. I'm more partial to G2 as I have more stuff for her.

Aah ok, well I didnt do much research on the content. I just assumed G3 has more flexibility with shaping and posing.

There should be a way to convert G3 shapes to G2, right? I mean its 2016! :P

This might work with a little tweaking http://www.daz3d.com/rev-hair-for-genesis-2-female-s

Go with what works for you. I have a TON of stuff for Genesis and V4 and M4 so I tend to stick with those. I like the new figures but I don't want to go through all the work getting the clothing to fit. I'm lazy lol.

Guys, can any of you gurus help me out here? I downloaded a few costumes from sharecg, most of them were for V4. I already have V4 installed so I just copied all the files from zip files into the content folder. But for the love of god, these clothes just don't load up. I tried drag-drop, doubleclicking, but it just doesn't show up.

For example, I tried these outfits -

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/58920/gallery/11/Poser/Alternate-Universe-Uniforms-for-V4

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/39189/gallery/11/Poser/TNG-&-Voyager-Uniforms-for-V4-&-M4---UPDATED

The files are copied correctly I presume, there is only one "runtime" folder and all the geometries, libraries, morphs, etc are inside that folder. I noticed that almost all of them are poser (pz2, cr2) files.

What could I be doing wrong?

Some of those files are for daz Studio. Make sure you've got the right ones installed. That alternate uniform is just textures.

If you read either page carefully, you will see that you need Courageous for V4. So you need to load V4, then load Courageous for V4 with V4 selected, then apply the TNG/Voy textures or the AV textures with Courageous selected.

    Courageous is here:

    http://www.daz3d.com/courageous-for-v4

(Its only $1.99 if you are a PC+ member.)

Oh, I assumed having Victoria 4 will be enough. So basically the alternate uniform is just a re-texture of Courageous outfit. Got it, thanks!

Thank you, but I am not a PC+ member :/ I wish it was a bit cheaper for non-members :(
