Been watching Luke Cage on Netflix.....had to ry :)

    Rawn

You did a great job with that piece. I love the nod to the reto costume, but you updated it nicely. The lighting and veins add a nice touch to a simple, but wonderfully executed image.

I'll start watching the series next week -- I've heard great things about it.

    Thanx

With the retro look, I was toying with adding one of the big afro's from my library, but decided against it LOL

The series is good, I love what netflix is doign with those heros

Why not give the afro a shot? It might be interesting to compare the two. And I'm also excited with these series. Netflix is doing a spectacular job.

Here's my updated Genesis 1 Superman using the latest draft of my Christopher Reeve face morph.  I'm particularly proud of this one (but of course, constructive critique is still welcome)!

    Practice Dude...

Very nice render! I like the pose, POV, lighting... everything. This is an attractive young man, with just the right blend of muscular and slenderness to look like a student athlete. The red hair reminds me of the recent Archie Andrews update. The angle, of course, adds much-needed interest to the scene. And the minimalism really works here. Of course, we are left without a sense of place -- a few high school or college gym mats on the walls could solve that, though. Nice work, as usual!

I was actually thinking the basement scene in Daredevil with a young Matt Murdock and Stick. But you are correct, there is little sense of place.  You always give the best critique. I've got some new stuff floating around Deviant.

Might be better with a tiara though...

Seriously, that is awesome...add an iron fist with a hipster sidecut and it will be a neat modernization!

This is VERY good. However, I don't see Christopher Reeve when I look at this. Close, but there's something about the hairline and the chin, I think. Also, on another note, can you puff up the cape a little? I know Chris' cape laid flat, but I think here it would look a little better if it stuck up just a little.

Here's the next page I've completed in my story. As with my other work in this series, it was completed in Poser 11 using Comic Book Preview and then composed in Manga Studio 5. I'm using a new font for this -- Blambot Casual, which I pursed at blambot.com ($30 -- but with a 10%-off discount code available at the bottom of the home page, it was only $27). I have given a lot of thought as to whether I'm going to go all caps or use Sentence Case (a mix of upper and lower letters), and have finally decided that I will embrace Sentence Case. A lot more comics are using it now, including Howard the Duck, Hellcat, Squirrel Girl, Grumpy Cat, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and so on. I don't know if this trend will stick, but I like the way it looks and think that it's easier to read. So, for now, that's what I'm going to do.

You're very welcome for the critiques -- I enjoy viewing your work and thinking about it. You know, Matt Murdock did actually cross my mind when I saw this. If he'd had on dark glasses, I would have committed my thoughts to that idea. I'll mosey over to DA and take a look around at your new stuff.

  • Here's an updated test render of my face morph WIP of Christopher Reeve for Genesis 1ǃ  Hopefully, the likeness has gotten better.  Constructive critique is welcome as alwaysǃ

That is looking a lot better. Much stronger likeness. My only suggestion is to lower the front hair line just a smidge.

    Well done!

Sure, let me doctor a few things up, as I dont want to share the logos (they were adds from the net), but I will add a quick "how to" on adding them.  There are more logo's, but for this pose, it was not needed.

It's now on my site:  Link

I'll drop it in the freebies section of my site in a little bit.

WOW that is awesome Thank you for the great share!

  • If anyone here is interested, I've just released my Christopher Reeve face morph for M5 ̈(or at least a beta version of it) on ShareCG.  If anyone wants to try him out, I welcome feedbackǃ  Here's an updated preview.

Thank you 3DOutlaw for the great texture map and how you applied it. The link to the base leather shader was a great addon to this as well.

  • Anyone know where i can get iron man armor for genesis 3?

  • It's been a while since I did a Super Hero picture and I think that the Japanese Super Sentai Heroes fit into this catagory. Here is my interpretation of Dairanger just getting ready for action

Sad news. Thanks for sharing it with us. I knew of his work, but not as deeply as some of the other Big Name artists of that era.

Excited to finally have a GPU that can render something more than an empty space with a single figure,  now I need to learn how to light larger spaces.  This was an experiment in doing so.

Doesn't look like you'll have that much expeimenting to do, that looks great. I love the highlighting on the face, it really focuses the viewers attention and accents the emotion, very well done!
