At this point I really wouldn't put it past them anymore. I like what you are doing and moving it to the tail end of the 25th Century isn't a bad idea.
HICS
Holographic Interface Control System
I can't help but think of the inevitable moment when elements from the holodeck bleed over in the control system
Sir, the guidence controls appear to have turn in to a kitten. The ship is purring as I steer sir.
Or when the ship's computer adopts a hologrphic body and starts a love affair with a crewman. :) Oh trust me I've already started brainstorming ideas lol
HICS isn't bad either. So many options...
I haven't had time to do any modeling or even set up any scenes all week. >_< Gonna try to do that soon though as I have a mighty itch to work on SOMETHING.
I did however get into paint again and start laying out my 25th century slipstream capable ship. I decided to scale down my ship a bit instead of going huge, I'm going in-between Voyager and Nova class in overall size. Still only going to be seven decks with some crawlspace. The secondary hulls decks are going to be taller in places to accomodate a proper shuttlebay. Not that it'll hold many shuttles. Very few details in this and probably won't put too many details into it before I start modeling. I'm seriously considering building this one deck by deck after I get the overall shapes in. No need for sets when you can just load up the entire deck! :P
Actual Nova renders included for scale. I'd actually started with this having a neck to connect the hulls instead of matched right up to each other, but I went with what STO and others have been doing to make it fit the 'look' from beyond that era (they're in 2410 or so I think and I'm going 2493-ish). I'm going to move the torpedo launchers up into the saucer like on the Nova mainly to avoid the 'smiley face' that Voyager ended up having. That and I don't think there's really going to be enough room there.
Bascially the commander of the ship is a more practical Admiral than most and doesn't need a big beast of a ship to flit around in her area of space. She's had the big ships and now that she's in command of a whole area something smaller with fewer issues and responsibilities fits her just fine.
Hey Guys,
I appologize in advance if I am asking something that's redundtant or has been answered a million times before. I just joined the forums a few days ago and tried searching but did not get anything. I have done modeling in maya and max before so modeling it and bringing it into Daz is my last resort.
I am working on some sort of series of renders for the 50th anniversary (no sure to what end, but looking to create montages of popular characters). Is there any face/body morphs for Janeway and/or Hoshi Sato for G3 figure out there?
I don't know that anyone has gotten around to making morphs for any of the new figures. Latest figure I have any morphs for are the first Genesis and taht's for the TOS and TNG crew and I think 7 of 9. I remember a Janeway morph but I don't know if i's still out there or not. It was for Victoria 4 and I know there's a program that let's you transfer morphs from V4 to the first Genesis, I don't know if there's one that will move them up to the G3 figure yet though.
Same program that moved them from M4/V4 to Genesis also does the latest figures G2 and G3.
Awesome. :)
Thanks guys!
Yeah, the generation X2 has been updated to work with G3 models. But I am holding off buying it, untill I find something I can convert. :D
I think Hoshi Sato will be a tough one to find though :/
Well, I finally found some time to work on some 3D stuff for a change. The b&w line drawing is what ended up evolving from the class I was working on above. You notice I dropped the nova/Constitution hybrid look for something more like one of the Star Trek Online ships which I just ended up not liking at all especially when I tried to figure out how big I wanted it and 6 decks was perfect, ten decks was doable but it just ended up looking ridiculous beyond the pen and paper with the rough shapes put together so it too got scrapped. I grabbed a Galaxy class MSD, a Voyager MSD, the Defiant MSD and Equinox MSD trying to find some kind of inspiration and then ended up finding a profile of a dolphin of all things while I was google searching at work and the idea stuck.
So my next, rather added on project among all the others (I need to make a list at this point and pick one and work on it) is the Cetacean class. Late 25th Century, warp and slipstream capable, 20-ish decks (the MSD there isn't final, especially since I didn't end up building the ship exactly as shown) and all the amenities of the Galaxy Class from the century before. Holographic control systems, etc.
I haven't really decided on the length of the warp engines yet, but I am sticking with the shape. I like the split look. And I just realized that the B&W line art is the same basic idea just better refined. Apparently I have dolphins on the brain this week.
Nice one Ashefivekay. This is one I did along a similar theme the USS Thor Deep space Exploration Vessel year (2401) equipped with advanced quantum slip stream drive. At its heart is the JI2400 neurotronic bio processing system utilizing a non-centralized nano liquid memory system. The system is dispersed though-out the ship capable of trillions of calculations in a millisecond. The JI2400Can be accessed verbally or via holographic panels. But the most useful interface is the Ships Holographic Emotive Response Interface, Sheri for short. A holographic tactile representation of the system capable of simultaneous concurrent interaction of with multiple crew members. SHERI can participate in all crew activities interacting and guiding them. The system is sentient, learning and adapting to suit individual crew members and all the time learning and forming its own personality. Uniform is PD Smith's Generation Beyond

I just bought the Yamato Bridge for Daz Studio and it's not working at all. Any ideas while I wait for a reply from VP on Renderosity?
Looks like bad file paths. Easiest fix would be to see where it installs versus what the PZ2 calls for and correct the paths in a file editor
I checked the folder and the zip; the .obj file is completely missing; in fact, there is no geometry folder in the runtime from the download.
You've got a folder named "Content" underneath "My Library" -- move the folders that are underneath "Content" up one level so that they are directly underneath "My Library".
Thanks! That worked perfectly!
As Vanishingpoint has stated and I have said in the past, My conversions are not set up to be split up or moved outside of the original file setutp. Meaning, doing so causes error and problems. They are designed to maintainn the 'content' folder name, the readme file should had stated that in some place. If not, I'll make it known and correct it.
Also the common texture folder is used for common access for future files to cut down on other sets useing the same files over and over. Rendo's recent policy changes have made this dificult to maintain.
My mistake was A) not reading the readme file, and B) copying the Contents folder itself, rather than the subfolders. Sorry for that.
"I've got blood down here," said ensign Evergreen.
"I'm getting some strange readings from the Transporter Room," said Commander Soras.
The doors burst open as an alien creature the likes of which neither had seen before burst forth from the transporter room and went for Commander Soras who desperately wished she hadn't opted for the tricorder. These were not the small little creatures they'd heard about in the emergency broadcast...
I'm going to jump off topic in a way. With the crash of the ESA's mars mission, I got to wondering: Are Viking I and II still functioning? I can't find anything anywhere that says one way or the other.
No, Viking 1 lasted six years and Viking 2 about three or four (both landed in 1976). The record holder so far is the Opportunity rover (landed 2004, still trundling along). The more famous Curiosity rover has only been on Mars for the last four years, but it's looking good to last a while longer.
If you want speculation about the Viking landers, though, try wondering what their cameras were pointing away from (they couldn't turn all the way round)...
It's kind of sad though that both Opportunity and Curiosity are too far away to check out the ESA crash site and find out what happened.
Wait until next week, the orbiter that took the discovery picture (the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter, I think) will be looking again using its high-resolution camera.
Okay.
Hey guys,
I am working on that Janeway model. Does she looks anywhere close to the real thing? I have been looking at so many reference images, now everything looks like janeway to me!
Help me out here!
PS - I don't have her bun or bob style hair, so this is the closest I could find.
It's getting there... what was the hair you used?
I think the lighting might help some. The profile and 3/4 views looks like her to me. But lack of shadows on the portrait image makes it hard to tell for sure.
I used Coleraine http://www.daz3d.com/coleraine-hair
Alright, let me push pull a little and add a few lights..I will post updates, thanks guys!
This hair reminds of her early days look
