I don't buy Blue-ray- too expensive. I have the re-mastered and I have the versions that the Scifi channel showed when they put all the edited pieces back in plus the actors' comments. I taped- yes, taped it all-, then when I transfered it all to DVD, I edited the comments out and saved them to a seperate disc-my own version of "special features". So, I have the episodes in the condition they originally aired in , plus the re-mastered verisons.
I haven't bought any of them yet, except the new films on Blu-Ray. I stream all the episodes on Netflix and own 2-4, 6 and all the TNG films on DVD
When I first watched Scifi Channels' versions they surprised me because I wasn't expecting the restored pieces. It's more noticeable in "The Doomsday Machine". There's an entire sequence after Decker knocks out the security guard showing him sneaking thtough the ship as he makes his way to the hanger deck that I had never seen until that broadcast.
I think they're all in the remastered versions as well. I remember the VHS versions of episodes being longer than the broadcast ones as well as they'd cut chunks of it to add in more commercials.
Exactly. That was the thing the scifi channel was pushing- these were supposed to be the most complete broadcasts since they originally aired. In fact, when they added the comment moments, they had to expand the allowed time-slot to ninety minutes.
Amazon just had the blu-ray collection of the first season for $50, I snatched it up. I was behind the firewall at work and couldn't post about it here - it's restricted as an adult site.
Amazon?? Must be because of the variety of titles they sell.
Oh, Amazon isn't blocked at my work. Daz3D is.
LOL!!!
So I was playing with V4 Courageous while a few things installed and decided on trying out the Alternate Trek Textures from DTHoward64 as I'm thinking I wanted to break up my uniform usage a bit with the Uzilite New Adventure and go for something that looks a bit more comfortable and replace two of the uniforms I have with just that one, maybe chanigng the colors a bit. Then I'd go back to the New Adventure when I change out the uniforms again for the Dominion War. So I loaded it all up and did a test render with my hero V4 and the tunic texture was pixelated and bleeding all over the place in iRay but not in 3Delight. I then went on a mission to figure out what was going on since the texture itself is high res and shouldn't be pixelating. Apparently the default DAZ setting for texture compression is set to 1024 max which was causing the pixelation and bleed. Bumped it up to 4096 and it renders out fine now on both DAZ 4.8 and 4.9 in iRay and 3Delight.
You can find the setting under the Advanced tab in Render Settings and then you're looking for texture compression. It defaults to 512 for medium and 1024 for high. I just adjusted the high one to fix my issue.
I mention this because looking back on my bridge test renders I was seeing the bleed/pixelation in the monitors and consoles but didn't realize what it was.
I'm glad you liked the textures. I was scared reading the post thinking I might have messed something up when I made the textures.
David
Oh no, definitely not your textures, they're solid which was what was bugging me. Great work on those. They're really well done, especially on the figures. Daz just compressed them when it shouldn't have been when it rendered
I was surprised about that first but I was happy to see how the it was done the way it was done in 1960's... plus CBS will be doing the new series on All Access it's better to keep it for it.
Finally finished and posted the Wrath of Khan excursion coat for G2M, you can grab it at ShareCG here:

Oops, missed one item you might find of interest. I totally forgot that the Crossdresser licence for this figure is free:

Don't know how much you're planning on using the character, but that might open up another possibillity or three.

I use Wardrobe Wizard. But Thanks anyway.
Absolutely gorgeous work on that. Nice job!
Thought you all might like to know the O'Bannon bridge is now in the store here and on sale.
seen it in the news letter this morning; and it it went on the top of my "next to buy" list... but I wonder were I can get the uniform?
Yessssssss
Looks like the Generation Beyond uniform. As long as you have Courageous or Valiant, the texture is on the freebie list.
I knew you would be happy about that and I believe it is but you will have to verify with my brother Paul.
I've got some of the programs and files copied over to the new beast. I've actually got my laptop and PC hotlinked over a bridge connection right now so I can copy gigs of data in seconds. I love it.
So while I'm working on meshes on the old machine I did some test renders on the new one so I could get a gauge of speed. The laptop could handle about 1000 passes in about 4 hours (of this particular set) and then I'd probably have to reboot or the graphics driver would crash. This is in DAZ 4.9 using iray. The new beast can do bout 3300 passes in 4 hours (also talking about this particular set) and completes a full 4000 passes in about 4.75 hours. It FLIES. And I love it. *hugs the new baby beast*
The Phase II version of the bridge is JUST about done. I'm going with about 90% on it. I need to remodel the base console I used around the bridge and the helm console as there are mesh errors in them that are bugging the crap out of me. Need to lift the science station extendables as well. The turbolift's need to be detailed so they're not just hollow cylinders. I haven't settled on a design just yet, but something that will be easy to evolve through the ship lines will be good. Actually considering omitting the full screen in the lifts with the ship design and going for something smaller. Oh, and I did condense some stations to get them all to be sit down. You've actually only got 7 stations on the outer section of the bridge. Starting behind the Captain and going clock-wise you have the First Officer station that can double as any other station on the bridge if needed, Communications, Engineering, SecWeaps (combination of Security and Weapons that will eventually become Tactical but maybe not in my timeline), the viewscreen, Damage and Repair, Environmental, and then Science.
I plan on carving up the outer bridge pie pieces so that it can all be re-arranged, although in this configuration it's almost a matter of just swapping textures and moving the science extendables if you wanted to. The two turbolifts are obviously fixed though and that's what I want to change.
Looks good. Yiou're not planning on doing the weapons console/station?
That's one of the things I'm planning for the TMP/WoK modifications to it. Definitely doing it, just thought I'd lay out the bridge the way I want it before I started working on making it more screen accurate ;)
For the TMP/WoK versions I need to make the display outlines (it'll be slightly inset wall pieces around the displays), modify the viewscreen so it looks more like the one in the films, build the weapons console chunky thing, build the stand up stations, build the bridge chairs, remodel the centerpiece for the ceiling of the bridge and the piece that extends back (the one in there isn't accurate in the slightest), model fire extinguishers and the wall greebles around the bridge from the WoK 'upgrades', model the light caps that'll sit over every station which is going to darken the hell out of the bridge unfortunately, and... oh my god I think that's it.
Welcome to the Fun of Modeling!
Hey R25S, Ashley is correct. That is the Generation Beyond uniform texture. But, it's also for the Defiant unform which was designed for Genesis character and converts over to the Genesis2 and Genesis3 figures a whole lot easier if you're looking to use those figures. Shadowhawk1 has the m4/v4 texture set at DA and I have the Defiant texture set at my DA account.
For the main advert I used G2F, Defiant Uniform, V4 hair, V4 skin. Equal oportunity user.

Thank you for the link.
I searched the freebie list but couldn`t find it... because it looks totally differtent in the promo picture for the brigde than in the promo picture on sharecg.
I'm having trouble accessing my messages. anyone else having this problem? I tried to send a support ticket and Daz wanted a ton of stuff that had nothing to do with the issue.
You can put NA for order number if it's a DS issue, or relating to a store page error or account problem. You can't pick NA for the isntallation method - just click one at random. Most of the other questions might be related to, or at least need to be eliminated as being related to, almost any issue.
Do you mean private messages on the forum or store emssages?
Private messages. I finally got in, but I had to leave it for a bit and come back in order to get in.
