I can see it in the curves. It happens in alot of programs- it happens to me a lot in Sketch-up. I have no idea how to avoid it. Wish I did.
It's still a learning curve I think. Part of it might be that Truespace allow for fewer points and vertices to simulate a curve that DAZ/Poser do. Might just need to up the poly count a wee bit.
I found in Sketch-up, that if I do several smaller curves instead of one big curve, it doesn't happen as often. But that's the only answer I've ever found.
Might have to give that a shot. If not I'm just going to straighten that portion of the console out like it shows up in the flight manual and call it good. The only one I really want/need to fight with on that is the Helm/Nav console as I want the front of that to curve slightly either way.
Hey guys...
I'm trying to make up a good Borg // Seven of Nine, clone....I have found the Seven of Nine Implants on Sharecg, but they are intended for v4 bodysuit & v4 expansion for the v4 bodysuit.
I am trying to use G3f (V7), and I was able to get the v4 cowl to finally conform to it, via autofit... But I haven't been able to get the v4 gloves to autofit.
Has anyone seen any borg implants for Seven, for G3f? Any one know of a good tutorial to re-texture something (ala Exo Suit for G3f short gloves)? I don't mind trying this myself, but I'm a relative newbie.
Also, I'm using a second skin texture, but that means that the toes are showing, for the feet. Instead I'd like to get a good boot look there... I haven't been able to find a way to "hide the toes" with a second skin to make it look like a boot. Any suggestions? I've tried adding boots, but nothing looks right (it's obviously a shoe or boot, compared to the second skin texture).
Here's a test that shows second skin issue...

I haven't played with the new gen 3 much at all. By that I mean it's in my runtime but I haven't even loaded it up. I know there were some either implant props or texture sets out there for one of the other gen meshes, either V3, V4 or Genesis that you could probably change over.
Props are just that- props. They may be smart-props for a certain character, but export them, import them and they can be parented to any figure.
Yes, props are props. But the Seven implants that I am discussing are textures for the v4 supersuit gloves. And I can not get the v4 gloves to match with the g3f model. They are close, but they are do not mate up properly.
I've attempted to adapt the texture to other gloves, with poor success...

Sorry. Thout you were talking about actual props.
Best Seven ever was Voyager Knights for V3 by Orion1167 Perfection but sadly no longer available
This is why I always tell people if they're planning a project- especially a long term one like a comic series, grab stuff when and where you find it. Don't wait. You may go back for something only to find it's not available anymore. I had stuff I saved for a year or more because I knew I'd be able to use it in a later story.
Exactly what I've been doing for years. :) A lot of the Trek stuff is for the older meshes as well. I kind of put a self-imposed limit on my own Trek stuff of the Genesis 1 figures as I have the crossdresser option to use older mesh information. It mostly works, but I find I often end up having to load up V3 or V4 to use something. I've actually got two versions of my 'lead' character, the V4 version which gets used the most and a converted over morph for Genesis that I don't use as often because everything I want to use with her works in V4.
bschollnick, you might have to look into having that converted or end up having to build it yourself. I've ended up doing that with so many things lately.
Did these up this week. The left is the most current iteration of the bridge. Lightened up the wall colors to be less grey, more white, upped the lighting levels all around, and installed a light over the captain's chair. I basically wanted to see how the bridge would look with people actually manning consoles.
The middle pic shows the lighting and colors before I changed them but I also rendered this up with my science officer in the TOS chair as I'd had a request for that on another site.
The third one I put some time into last night. With it being an alternate timeline I'm working on alternate designs for several of the ships I want to feature. The first is the Excelsior, then a refit to the design to make it more competitive with the Ambassador class and finally the Ambassador class. I worked on that one last night instead of working on something for someone else as I was extremely frustrated with how my day went. I think it's kind of showing in the design as I'm really not satisfied with the rough layout today. ~_~ The saucer is ok, the neck and secondary hull are bugging me though. Maybe because I'm used to it having something over the 'waterline' of the hull. It does fit more with the Excelsior this way. Maybe it's the marriage of my own ideas with the Probert and Studio version of the Ambassador? I don't know. Going to sit on it awhile.
The last one is the rough ideas I'd doodled up (by doodled it means loading them into paint and goofing off) working from the Ingram blueprints and a few other sources to get some ideas of what I wanted to do with the ships.
Instead of using a second skin, which limits what you can do, why not use the new superhero costume for G3F - http://www.daz3d.com/super-bodysuit-for-genesis-3-female-s - the eclipse outfit - https://www.daz3d.com/eclipse-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s - or the leather body suit - https://www.daz3d.com/leather-body-suit
Depending upon the accuracy Bschollnick wants to achieve, one will note all of those jumpsuit have zippers upon the front while Jeri Ryan's introductory costume was more or less "seamless" in front.
Sincerely,
Bill
On the superhero suit its a morph option
Ah, well.. Never mind. Looks like I didn't properly review the product pages.
Sincerely,
Bill
Simply because out of those, I only have the eclipse outfit. Which I just tested, and I can get a reasonable facsmile, except for the zipper.
The Darkworld second skins have several texture patterns which are excellent, and work as a "seven", nano-armor, type of suit. When I purchased a couple of them, I wasn't aware of the limitations of the second skin.
So I'm waiting until there's another crazy sale where at Daz, and I'll look into remapping one of the other g3f body suits. But as RedFern mentioned, the main killer is the zipper. I want to use the suit as a "Nanite" style armor, so that in effect there's a hidden zipper. Which the second skin that I have currently wouldn't allow me to do, so I planned on a different outfit anyway....Once I realized that limit.
Oh well... Nothing's perfect....
I made the V4 Bodysuit Expansion textures for the Borg props. I don't have a lot of female items, especially for G3F. I don't know what the UVs are like for other sets, but feel free to use my items as a base for your own work.
So, who among us popped in a DVD and played the episode "The Man Trap" at 8:30 PM (Eastern), last night September 8?
Sincerely,
Bill
Alas I was busy.:(
Watched it on NefFlix on September 6th (the air date in Canada) at 7:00 PM Cental. It brought back memories of racing on my bike to get home on time, and how excited I was babbling about it the next day at school (as opposed to how I babble today).

Got my new PC built this past week. Currently doign a test render on some crazy settings that would have taken my laptop over a day to render out completely and my new baby is goign to have it done in under 8 hours. Normal renders in iray that are set up for 1k passes are going to go from 4 hours likely to 1 or 1.5 on the new beast (outer space ship renders will only take minutes). It's kind of amazing. Copied over my runtime from my DAZ folders on the laptop to the new computer and realized that I have almost 40 gigs of material in there. Blew my mind, especially since I'm planning on adding a LOT more.
Lots more modeling done on one project, and pokes and prods on this one here while the new PC was copying files and setting itself up. The Galaxy came out much faster than the others, probably because I built them in order and kind of know what I'm doing now with the basic ship building. Like the Excelsior, the Galaxy is a blend of a few different design ideas I've seen around and yes, she does borrow a bit from the Sovereign for the top part of the saucer hull. I haven't decided if I'm going to redo the Sovereign or not. It's not currently on my slate as one of my 'hero' ships. Yes, the Galaxy has warp coils already in her nacelles and a lot of the detail is going to be modeled in instead of textured. I'm building her and the rest of the fleet with iray in mind. I haven't decided if I'm doing hull aztecing on her or not. The idea is that in this timeline Transwarp actually worked and those grey bits on the neck of Excelsior (and going to be installed on the Ambassador) and on the Galaxy here help stablilize the transwarp field as it's generated by the nacelles. I just realized I need to come up with rules for Transwarp now... oi.
I have been visiting here off and on and have always bern impressed, but, is there a result to this mission? Are some of the 3D sets made, now available? I would love to render and share some 3D VR Scenes of the many (especially TMP era) sets and scenes from here. Does anyone have copies of Wil Jaspers scenes? THANKS! Kapla!

Well my ultimate goal is to use the sets and ships I'm building to tell my own stories. I haven't personally made any of my sets available for download yet as they're still works in progress and need some more work. I'd hate to put out something half-finished. I've seen Wil Jaspers sets out there on a few different sites but I couldn't use them as they're 3D Studio Max which I don't have.

I had CBS All Access and watched it... It wasn't the remastered version so I watched it the way it originally shown to help honor the first episode...
I'm actually surprised the original versions are still available for syndication. I would have thought CBS would have pulled them in favor of only showing the newer remastered version.
