Thank you very much
...yeah that would take my system a lot longer in CPU only mode.
The fastest render time I ever had was 15 seconds using the standalone 3DL for a similar type of pic.
Okay, so sharing an image. It's not great, but it's my first Iray render with DS installed in Linux which I just got working last night. Just downloaded and installed a few things to test out Iray. Ipo, multiplane cyclorama and a sunset HDRI. I'll have to work on installing more content while I work on some slight performance issues with the screen draw. Right now, I'm only manually downloading and installing stuff as I don't have CMS or Connect up and running yet. It's a good thing I don't use Smart Content as that isn't working either.
Always working in new ways to light a scene...
Lots Girls
I always found doing a windows search of my content folders for items, to work better & faster than smart content pane myself. it gives me all the files associated with the content I'm looking for. if i want to find poses, props & characters associated with the certain item, plus windows search will list textures associated with the named item as well which helps if you want to make changes to the texture map or something to your content your working with,, Smart content only list just the product itself not all the associated files with it. that is why i use windows search.

I've always preferred the really clean illustration look. With IRAY and the noisy results I'm finding more and more that some grunge can actually give cool results.
Amazing render! Very lovely girl!
Thank you very much
Playing with various parameters to see if I could get a decent sunset using sun/sky only. Not entirely happy with the result, but it's ok.
After a 12 month self imposed hiatus on 3D work I am slowly getting back into things. This one was more an attempt to see if I could match the Lekku to the skin texture and play with the emissive surfaces. Not there yet but quite like this one.
I call it 'I find your lack of attraction disturbing'
And another one I've been playing with for a while.
Very nice Matty!
Thank you very much! :)
Using Worldbase Xtreme; sun and sky for ambient and sky colour; distant light as a fill light; area point light and spotlight in 'volcano'; clouds/sky is the Worldbase Skydome; plants from the DAZ Environment; smoke using B9999_SkySystem; rendered in Iray.
I really, really wish my video card had enough memory to render two clothed figures and, you know, geometry for a background scene...at the same time...Without tying my computer up for a week and a half... ;_;
Yes, this is pretty much how I do it, too. I plan to slowly put everthing in my own categories as I install products in my Linux desktop, but with everything I have loaded into Windows, what you describe has always worked best for me. And, I've noticed the few times I do try to use Smart Content, which is rarely, it has seemed even more broken than usual. I have no idea how it is working with Connect as I haven't had a reason to 'connect' my DS and don't really plan to do that. Although, I've heard that it is possible it works in Linux, I'm not sure I'm up to the task of trying to get it there.
I love this image, MattyManx! The lighting is great and I always like your sense of composition in your images.
That's an interesting image! Love the dinosaurs. When you say Worldbase Xtreme, do you mean the original intended for 3Delight? I don't have that one, but it looks interesting. One of these days, I really need to track down that thread about using 3Delight skydomes in Iray. This looks really nice and so unusual for Iray.
Hanabi! I love this. Really nice job with the posing! I especially love the nice job you did on the lips for that kiss! It looks great even close up!
I agree with knittingmommy the faces are excellent!
Here's some of my latest ones. I'm experimenting a little with the grungy look.
@Knittingmommy
Yes that is the one. I use it quite a bit in outdoor images.
This thread might help.

All the plants and the smoke are elements made for 3Delight.
That is very nice. Where is that outfit & wings from?
I'd mistake this for a photoshopped photo if you had posted it elsewhere.
Thank you very much Knittingmommy and nonesuch00.

I tried my luck with the ever original render of an archer about to shoot an arrow.
Rafmer - Fantastic image. Great job on this one. Flaming arrow would be cool as well. :)
Looks good. Good POV

A render I did to show off some basic jewelry modeled in blender.
THat is very nice. Does the necklace move or is it static
Static. Imported the figure from my Daz scene into blender, draped the necklace over the figure using blender's rigid body physics, and then exported the necklace into Daz.
Painted in 3DCoat (not the skin)
