I found it a bit odd that a lot of the props for https://www.daz3d.com/se-futuristic-hall-2 look like they would fit perfectly well with a modern day setting, where as I assume, with all the spaceships and stuff that it is supposed to be 100-200 years or so in the future. Also, given how AI is currently advancing at such a rapid pace, I was surprised to see that SQL Server was still the database of choice for the future world!
It makes me think of the various Gerry Anderson settings.
Yeah, it has an almost retro-futurism vibe to me.
Where can I find that store explicit content filter option? This place is getting to be too much for me. I'll never buy any of that stuff. I don't want to wade through it anymore. But I can't find the filter option to enable it.
If I'm not mistaken, then Account -> click edit your account information (this is where your name and email is) -> untick "Show mature content".
Thanks, joanna, that's it. I never would have found it.
I feel like Daz isn't even trying to have a good sale, just phoning it in. Today's big "special" is an extra 30% off items that are mostly full price? The SAME old door "prizes" overpriced at $2.49 every single day. The fact that you have to be psychic to predict if you're going to need a gold star for the following day... I do like two of today's new items, the romantic umbrella poses and romantic backgrounds, but there's literally no incentive to buy them on launch day. I can wait. Regular sales with flash sales are way more interesting than this March Meh-ness.
But if they use exciting words, that makes it an exciting, good sale, right? The prices don't matter, it's how much it's hyped up!
Don't look behind the curtain!
Just gimme an "A"!!
Yes, I see the same. I was disappointed that I still have to see those products, too. The store has really taken a turn recently.
It did. But then, we don't know what Daz's situation is. Those things usually sell, and this is what might help them to stay afloat in the times when it's easy to go under.
I can't help thinking about a big online store for digital creatives that after 10 years of functioning, suddenly shut its door, sold the rights to the brand (but not the company, so customer data was not transferred) and left many people with assets they paid for and weren't able to download. It was a case of "yesterday you bought something, and today, the website doesn't exist anymore, and the domain redirects to another place, the new owner of the brand with a short note of "Hey, that other place shut down, and now we own the brand. Come shop with us instead."
I would not wish for that to happen to Daz, and if more adult content means that the site keeps going and we get some stuff we want in between (and maybe some nice sale once in a blue moon), then I'll suffer through it.
That's exactly where I am on this subject, because of so many factors, not the least of which is the new gee-whiz AI tech but also general instability in the tech field and in business in general. I would not want this to happen to Daz. If Daz can stay alive with selling adult content to make stuff you can't do for the moment in AI (which, you can't, AFAIK) then fine, I'll hold my nose and buy the things I want as they turn up. And maybe also start thinking about downloading my install files in my spare time.
Yeah it has. The NSFW stuff is appearing more and more throughout the store. As much as I'm turned off by seeing those products (pun intended), I've just accepted it's going to be an ongoing part of the store now, whether I like it or not. Today we got another one, too. Crazy.
I've had to actually turn the matue filter off because (at least at one point) it would censor images that didn't show any nudity at all; focusing on kinkier images that while not wholesome, are quote tame by what's out there on the internet. I even just tried turning it off and visited Elena 9's product page and nothing was even censored, with one image blatantly showing off all the details. All of them. So the inconsistency is an issue where a shopper could be missing out on some really good promo images for no reason. And then during other times, seeing things they really don't want to see.
https://www.daz3d.com/elena-9 has half-a-dozen filtered images for me, no nudity (there is a topless one, but that is with a masculine shape applied).
I just had 2 products the other day that the main store page was grayed out, I also had one about a week ago that one on the sale page. The only reason I knew what it was is that people have been putting nothing but the waist of a person and the symbol of man or women, at least recently. If you come across nudity or too close to call then let us know, and we can talk to them about it.
That's strange, I turned the filter on and I had nothing censored. Closed my browser and also relogged in. If it takes time to fully apply, that's definitely something that needs to be looked at.
I don't know if this got answered yet. How do the gold stars work? I bought something today that was over a dollar. Am I able to use the discount today or do I have to wait for tomorrow?
It will apply tomorrow and also be valid for the next day.
Would be interesting to see a survey about the customer's opinions about this adult products. Nobody here is forced to buy them and a short glance would be all that is needed to not have to look closer at any possibly offending pictures.
"Show Mature Images" is turned off by default for all accounts. The thumbnail pics and names for all the adult products are all fairly discreet as far as I'm concerned, so there is really nothing offensive if you leave your account setting as default and just ignore things that don't suit your interests.
If anything, it seems that Daz errs on the side of caution. Sometimes I am left wondering why an image is considered "Mature" when I temporarily unhide a pic to see a particular product, and all that is seen is a figure in a bathing suit or lingerie. So I think its all a non-issue.
For the first time since the end of January, I actually bought something! A LD came up for about $1.60, and it gives me a gold star that'll hold over through St. Pat's in case something breaks the doldrums that day.
If not, I wound up with a nice G8 outfit for 92% off that I could see one of my people wearing, so... no loss.
I was a bit baffled by this:
https://www.daz3d.com/ht-bathroom-substance
There's a mysterious dark room. Supposedly. Any ideas?
A good sale today, maybe the trick is with this MM to wait till the catch up weekend? Bought lots of really lovely things, new and from my WL. Price with 7 tokens I'd accumulated over the past weeks was very much okay. And nice new things also, today as well as yesterday, especially the French Bags (https://www.daz3d.com/se-collection-of-french-bags-for-genesis-9) and the Breeze poses,

Do you mean the room behind the grey glass door by the end of the horse washing trough? That seems to be a shower. I'm trying to figure why someone would convert a handball court into a bathroom.
I find this product very baffling, too.
It is quite clrearly the bathroom from recent movie 'The Substance', so there is probably an adjacent locked room - I can't find a spoiler option, so I'll just say the plot of the movie requires such a room.
(It's a great movie, but also really disturbing, don't watch it if you're not into body horror.)
However, shouldn't it come with an editorial license when it's taken directly from a movie?
I don't wanna get the artist into trouble, but I also really hesitate to buy an item when I'm not clear about the usage restrictions.
Maybe the whole room turns into a Darkroom as soon as the lights are turned off, with there being no windows or other places where light might enter naturally?
The more important question is: Is this another toilet without a seat?
Yes, it's the bathroom from the movie "The Substance" with Demi Moore. And yes creepy stuff happens there.
It would probably take someone like RawArt to create what Demi Moore turns into lol. That was some impressive makeup, prosthetics and CGI. Not sure how anyone could recreate those scenes or really, why they'd want to.
Yeah, that final scene when Demi Moore is on stage was pretty insane. I quite enjoy when CGI is limited to more of the physically impossible (or close to it) and practical effects are primarily used. So sad to see so little practical these days-this is why The Thing is so highly regarded.
I'm pretty sure RawArt could make it-I wonder what she'd be called?
They do an internal survey everyday by tracking product sales from the website and with any corporate clients they have. If the products were not selling, then they would not publish more of them. Profit determines the next product. If they have been selling adult products for months, then I suspect they are profitable. Why would a business leave money on the table for their competitors? If the profit declines, then new adult products will stop being offered. Yes some products are sold as loss leaders to keep customers coming to DAZ, but you can only do so much of that. I suspect several male versions of products might fall in that category.
