THank you for all the Genesis outfits Martin.
Question, are these all going to be added to the other DC freebie site? Just thinking it would be easier to keep track of it all for everyone instead of digging through this thread from start to finish.
Ok..I have to say it.. That isn't a dig at DAZ at all but rather at the PA's here who do textures.

Could someone please point me in the direction of the tutorials, discussions about the animated drape process? Thank you!
Just wondering if someone can tell me how to install the dynamic clothing control onto a drive other than C? It searches and tells me I don't have Daz installed.

I thought it expressed a frustration at not being able to use clothing objects as dynamic clothing in studio as you can do in poser. If we had the ability to animate any object, we could use the stunning textures available anywhere, including here.
Who needs textures when Daz has stunning clothing shaders:)
I was going to say. This is more about the OBJ drape we are sorely missing. I do like some of the clothing textures in the two sets mentioned but it's not like between you and Miss M that we couldn't achieve similar results. Alls that's missing is a way to drape obj's in DS. I consider myself a fairly good texture artist but I do notice nice work when I see it and well, those two packs are stunning at RDNA! :-)
Especially since they do have DS Settings.
Yea, seems kinda weird they went ahead and put in DS settings for all pieces, iirc. Maybe they know something we don't! :P
No, but you can use them on Gen 4 characters in DS4 as long as you animate the drape.

How do you animate the drape? I put the western vest on M4 in DAZ4.5 and did not do that. It seemed to work but maybe it was simple enough that it did not matter.

My latest book cover:
Thanks for this wonderful gown, Martin/Optitex :D
Thanks, Martin :D
I am always bragging you and your clothes up in my rendo gallery. Now that I learned how to add links to my descriptions, I am now leading people to some of the older Dynamics. You never now, it may translate it to a few extra sales for you, right?

Ditto this. Beautiful set. I'm even considering buying it just for the parts that are conforming... but I would really love to have those sleeves and the overskirt. To me, this kind of clothing is what dynamic cloth is for.
I'm pretty sure DAZ went with this technology because in general, it's easier to use, since items can be fitted and posed before draping, rather than requiring an animated drape. But the limitation requiring everything to be developed in very expensive proprietary software is a killer. Martin has been great about working with people, but he's one guy.
That said, I'd be willing to remap the OptiTex versions of the overskirt and sleeves to use existing textures, if Arki is willing to work with Martin to create OptiTex dynamic versions of the same. That won't help if someone wants to freeze the drape, but it will cover everything up to that point. (And there might be a way to use a DS function to convert existing textures to the OptiTex maps with a script, if a remapped UV map exists...)
Well, since my birthday is this weekend, I went ahead and bought the outfit. I was planning on just getting the accessory set but I want that bloody coll halo.
If you and Martin can team up and work with Arki, I will kiss the ground you walk on!
I have sent a note suggesting the idea to Arki. I wasn't sure if I should have included all the other vendors listed, so I just included Arki for now. Here's hoping!
Fingers cross!
Now that would be cool indeed. The new Angelic set at RDNA only has the sleeves and over skirt needing to be dynamic, I think it would be a wonderful start to a beautiful union if you both made it work in DAZ Studio. There is supposedly an issue with the wing armor for DS but they forgot we have that nifty smoothing and collision we can add.. no poke throughs that way! :-)
