Well, I did for Michael 6. I've got two black female characters under my belt for G2 and 1 for G3---so I'll probably get to one here eventually. :) It's a matter of time and getting to the things I've already got going.
But I will definitely move him up the list. That's the best I can promise right now...

Ok, today's sale finally got me. I'm now the proud owner of Gianni 7 and a bunch of other characters I didn't really need but they were just too cheap the pass up (some of them were .40 each with the discounts!) Looks like I'm eating mac n cheese the rest of the week, but I won't care because I'll be too busy oggling my new Gianni! What's a girl to do?

Just don't ever, EVER buy the "Psst" cheap brand. It tastes like where flavors go to die.
I came "this close" to doing the same. But I managed to talk myself out of it by the time I got up today. Phew! It was a close call...

Ragnar is just splendid!Getting him the second he comes out. Can't wait to see your black male.
I like him the best of the G3Ms so far. The second one is mixed 50-50 with Leo and some stocky morph.
That second one makes me think 900% movie villain, the ultra clever charismatic sort, of course.
Just adding my vote (if I get one) for you to do a black guy. (I have all of your black girls). I was going to suggest your making a black guy on your Ragnar announcement thread, but I did not want to detract from the hysteria. Great work, as usual.
I'm undecided on Gianni 7. He is different from M7, but he's not very attractive to me. I don't see the G3M series as being worth the investment at this time. The female figures and items sell more, so they get more attention paid to their development (this is what was basically said by a Daz team member in the PC+ forum). I don't really want to spend money on a perfuctory figure Daz doesn't have any passion for.
Well, that's OK, I got soundly screamed at on Facebook yesterday because apparently I'm not doing my part to make sure my characters are black. :/
I understand people are frustrated with the lack of ethnic diversity, but you gotta give us a break, too...
Finding resources to make ethnic characters is NOT easy. Most of us get our photo resources at 3d.sk, and while they are an amazing source, they are very limited on ethnic characters.
I think I've seen a handful out of the hundreds of white resource models. Black males are even more difficult to find. I can count them on one hand and have fingers left over.
It's not that we aren't willing---it's just the resources aren't readily available. I've put out one black male---but a handful of black females.
We really are doing the best we can with what we have to work with. And again, the male of the species doesn't really sell. As someone who has tried to put out male characters--- normally? My females sell 2 or more to every male.
I'm hoping Ragnar changes that... :D
So if you want more---make sure you vote with your purchasing power.

I have used Gianni for a while now and I will say I do like the base figure and skin. I don't actually care for the two other characters included in the set which look generic. One has crazy caterpillar groucho Marx eyebrows which are way too big and dark and the other is just super plain. What I'm looking for with Gianni is more of a butch bodybuilder type. The included characters could be extra skins from Michael 7.
Physically Gianni looks good although his forehead is has the squeezed in gen 6 look and his eyes are a bit big the eyes can be fixed but the forehead looks funky to me especially in comparison to m7 whose eyes are more realistically placed and not so high up.
Hair included in the pack is great.
Outfits aren't useful to me and are all over the place.
If I had it to do over again I'd probably pick up Gianni 7 and the two hairs.
Wow. Where can I get Ragnar? He would go straight into my cart. As would dark skinned gypsyangel G3M/Gianni7/M7 characters.

Ragnar should be released fairly soon at DAZ, he's already passed testing and is waiting for art approval. I have one black character currently in the store, a female for the G3 V7 line. A few for for G2 including a G2 Male, Apollo. A G3 female waiting to be released. So there's a few. If you are still using G2, check out Nyota. She's pretty good. Otherwise, check FWSA, Fred and Sabby's work, or Silver. They have some incredible dahlies out. And in the meantime, keep an eye out. I'll get to a black male character relatively soon. :)
But seriously, if anyone wants to check for yourselves...goto 3d.sk, using their search and check for male and black. You'll get back 3, maybe 4 results, total. Check white male, you get dozens of pages. White female, you've got hundreds of pages of results. And we can only work with what we've got. Which is a whole lot of nothing...
gypsyangel, I have Nyota for quite a while; she is gorgeous - as well as the beautiful and noble Maret (you should see her in Fisty and Darc's new Egypt clothes!). Thank you for making those great characters!
It is a shame that shops like the one you mentioned don't have more black or other dark-coloured male references. Maybe they don't know, but: The vast majority of the world's population is definitely not white!
Well, I may be wrong, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Slovakia isn't a huge immigration country, being stuck between Hungary and Poland like it is.
I think the majority of people there are white. So 3d.sk is hampered by geography. The situation just is what it is... He can't do anything about his situation any more than we can. And he can only photograph those that go to him and are willing to bare it all for the cause. :D

Just saw there were some updates to some of the Gianni 7 product. They were in the DIM when I went to install something else.
Just wondering...if I install the Gianni bundle through Daz Connect, then it will be installed twice. So which one will DS show? One, the other, or both.
And there is an icon in DS for Gianni 7 Pro bundle. Underneath it says Install All. Will that install everything that came in the bundle? Or would I still have to hunt and peck for some things?
If you install an item with Daz Connect that is also installed with DIM/manually, 4.9 will display and use the Connect version.

It should be within the next couple of days. He's just waiting for marketing to give him a date. He's gone through the whole process, so it's just a waiting game now. It shouldn't be longer than a week, though...hopefully in the next few days. When I know, I'll post it in the Ragnar thread in the PA Commercial forum. And thanks!! :D
Where are all the clothes? Since the release of Gianni - nothing!
Very dissapointing...
Remember back in the days of Genesis 2, when a new "figure" was released, threads like this went on FOREVER. Everyone talking about it, posting renders etc - both female AND male figures.
Gianni came out Jan 26......about 8 days ago. And this thread is dying with only 5 pages. The Gia thread did the same.
I admit the lack of new men's content and constant female only new stuff is getting to be a daily drag. Seems like we used to get more male items before what is the point of making a figure if nothing is ever made thereafter?
And by the same token, what is the point of buying a figure...

I think I'm detecting joking and that's just not on. The new UV prevents stretching, and that's very important when notVictoria and definitelynotVictoria aren't identical to Victoria.
Lol. The figure separation from Genesis was supposed to make it easier for pa's to make clothing and items. Sadly if that is true true it means making items for only women only and no longer making fits for Michael. I don't see the plus side really unless you only illustrate one gender.
Granted I do think Iray has turned all the ladies into bronze colored spray-tan clones, but at least there is some different guys this time around. I'm really liking Leo and Mike this go around.
